Yes but who will run a node once mining ends?

it also has the most active nodes hasn't it?

yep, gpu only makes a really big difference. there's alot of things to respect about bitcoin but the mining situation is a goddamn disgrace and it's never gonna get any better.
agree.. i'm not a eth supporter but i cant disagree with that.

Given it's hashrate ethereum classic is hopeless and most likely the mining is centralized, it's only good for pump and dumps since it doesn't have any capable developing team. Also most likely the thief is putting some serious efforts to keep it alive since it is in his best interest, to slowly milk his eth stats out of dao.
Edit: lethos3 i'd benefit from ethereum classic success since obviously i own ether on both chains, but it won't, except for speculation / pump / dump value it doesn't have anything else.

Ethereum network hashrate: 4.4T , proof https://etherchain.org/ .Biggest chinese farm in china, and probably in the world for obvious reasons has only 98G, which accounts for 2.2% of total hashrate http://www.powtopos.com/ .
This makes me believe ethereum is the most decentralized cryptocurrency / blockchain project there is, probably all time. What do you guys think ? I think it was a great decision to make ethereum farmable with gpu's only.
