Now ether, this is a coin for the rich, as the transfer fee starts from $ 15. I do not understand why such a price for a transfer and most of the coins, the price of which is about $ 50, is not even profitable to touch, since it goes to zero or even to a minus in money.

Hi, I'm totally new in crypto. I just purchased $60 USDT (Erc-20) in my Coinbase wallet. I wish to trade or swap it. But, when I am trying to do it that's the time it shows that "I don't have enough Ethereum for Gas fee". Please help me and let me know is there any option to do it without Gas fee?

there's nothing that can be done if the problem is transaction fees. because all transactions require fees. However, it is unfortunate if you currently use ethereum in small amounts, as Ethereum's current transaction fees can be up to half of your assets ($ 30). so I suggest not making any transactions using ethereum at this time. exchange your eth with other altcoins and after that you can trade.

Gas fee has become a real headache for all the investors, especially for the ones who trade low quantities. Initially it was only seen on ERC-20 based platforms but today we have experienced somewhat similar issue on BSC platforms as well. That may reduce the edge BSC platforms had over the ERC-20 and also the attractiveness.

Does BSC network has the same tracking site for their fees? I don't know that BSC is getting expensive already. Maybe due to those projects that are switching to their network and a lot of new ones that are utilizing their platform. So the fate will be the same with ETH, as more projects are going to their network, the fees will be expensive. And when that happens, users may go back again to eth, when the eth team resolves their gas efficiency problem. And it will be soon.

I am not sure if there is a website like gasstation for ETH but you can see here

https://explorer.bitquery.io/bsc/gas

The transaction cost is far less than $1 per transaction on average in May. I have no idea what the load is that the network has to handle these days and what would happen if the load was about that of Ethereum.

Transferring digital assets without GAS fees especially on the current Ethereum network is not possible. You can only make transfers if you have ETH balance in your wallet which will later be used to process transactions as a reward for the miner who signed your transaction on the Blockchain.
Currently you can check the transaction fees that are currently in effect on the Ethereum network using the GAS Tracker service from Etherscan or Ethgasstation

USDT is an ERC-20 token which means you need to have Ethereum and your wallet too to be able to transfer it. For every transaction you are sending on the Ethereum Network you need to pay some Ethereum as payment for the transaction fee. At the moment the ethereum network is under very high traffic which means you have to pay ETH worth 30$ or more for a ERC-20 transaction and even 100$ or more for a swap on uniswap. So you should wait for the gas price to go down again before you are sending or swapping your 60 USDT because the fee costs would be higher than the actual transaction.

I believe you had no idea Ethereum gas fee was this crazy, sorry about that but if you actually asked or made a research before buying you would had an idea why you shouldn't buy an ERC-20 usdt, rather you would have bought Trc20 -USDT, cause it doesn't require much fees as ERC-20 usdt those,  for your case there's absolutely no way to resolve this, just get some eth and wait for the gas prove to go down then transfer the usdt to an exchange, theres no other way out.

The mistake that newbies often make is lazy to read, and at worst they have done it before they know what they have done. they should have asked earlier before they took an action or decision to do something. so that in the end they suffer a loss. so my advice before doing anything is better to ask first. because ETH (ErC-20) transaction fees are currently very high it will make it difficult for other people to provide solutions to you. because you did. make this an important lesson for you in the future.

Come on man, have you ever been a newbie to anything and were angry about yourself because you acted before reading? I have been a newbie often times. What's the point of bashing this guy who comes out honestly and asks for advice? Give him the advice plus the advice where he can read stuff up.

Sad to see how you respond to someone who searches for help on this forum.
We should have outgrown bullies in the Forum but some people dont change, however, OP will still to need read more as he progresses in cryptocurrency. Trading should not cost 60$ in one transaction except in time of high GWEI few weeks ago. However, except for bounty, every trader start with an exchange. Next time you start with projects, choose with  low transaction fee

Willing to comment on your comment again considering the fees you pay these days for ETH transactions? Wink I welcome you to correction yourself. We are at $60 - $70 for an average transaction. There is nothing you can do against it except for being patient and not trade or move your tokens.

All ERC20 based tokens will require ETH to make transactions, you must have ETH in your wallet if you want to make transactions such as sending or swapping

Just like you drive a car, you have to refuel first to be able to run the car, so in the cryptocurrency world it's the same, if you want to send USDT you have to buy a little ETH to be able to make transactions, which is called gas fees.

I tried to swap my Tango tokens on uniswap and i was charged over $30 worth of ETH for the transaction as if that wasn't bad enough, the transaction still failed. Now the transaction didn't go through, but i still lost some money.
Ethereum gas fees are so ridiculous right now and it is putting a lot of people off from investing in cryptocurrencies

I thought the eth gas fee has been reduced because of the berlin hard fork. Unfortunately, still the fees are ridiculous. Have you checked the gas tracker - https://etherscan.io/gastracker, before executing your transaction. The fees are still high, I thought it has been reduced at least a lil bit. Right now, BSC network is really a better option. It is not worth to create an order if the fee is more than what you're getting for.

There is no option for that. You need to pay gas fee by ethereum in order for your transaction to be approved. Even if you are able to manage and proceed your transactions, miners will skip them for 100% because they have no benefit in sending your coins

The current eth fee is high. So many people change to althernatives blockchain such as binance smart chain or phantom. They are faster with less fee consumed.

I think you can sell your tokens and buy altcoins or stable coins on other networks, for example, Tron and BSC, there are many options but if you want to make a withdrawal from a CEX exchange (Coinbase), at least you will be charged a $10 to $20 withdrawal fee, because each CEX exchange has different fees when users make withdrawals.

Actually, you can't do anything by checking gas prices on Ethereum. Now only you can wait for a proper time, which is about 1-2 weeks. Ethereum price goes down to 1> USD. This year fork is also complete, now waiting for gas fees. Next time, you can use top exchange to buy any cryptocurrency, recommend Binance. Your investment is very low, so a high cost could hurt you. Gas fees aren't always high in 24 hours.

unfortunately one of the biggest limitations that prevented a greater diffusion is precisely the high cost of transactions on the occasion of such bullish markets, I hope that with ethereum 2.0 this can be solved.

You should have asked your mentor or just watch some video before attempting to trade on ERC20 with such low amount. I just claimed an airdrop worth $45 using $21 in gas fee. Eth network is currently useless and a killer. ETH network has a problem with handling huge transactions than it was originally designed for hence the surge in gas fee.
Currently doing transactions using the ethereum platform costs a lot of money because the gas fees applied are too high, I personally have to postpone selling my tokens because if I calculate with the existing gas costs I only get less than 30% of the token sales in uniswap and in recent days I have been monitoring https://etherscan.io/gasTracker and hope that there will be a reduction in gas costs at uniswap.

This problem isn't a new problem, but you are new to cryptocurrency. https://etherscan.io/gastracker visited this address to check the current gas prices of Ethereum. 5 days ago ETH gas prices were below 27 GWEI. Coinbase is a centralized wallet and doesn't support swap features.

Every transaction taking place in the crypto space goes with or takes a fee or gas fee to work, without which the transaction won't work, hence the reason why you are facing that issue. One of the ways out of this issue is to buy more Ethereum which will cover for gas fees or reduce what you are trading, so that part of it can cover for gas fees if possible.
Another way is to trade it to another coin probably a coin with lesser withdrawal fee like XLM, i do not use Coinbase so I don't know much about their trading coins or withdrawal charges.
Also, if there is USDT withdrawal through Tron that is (USDT TRC-20), then try withdrawing through that way, it comes with lesser fee. Try knowing more about the coins you wish to buy before doing so, it helps a lot most especially now you that are new.

Didn't tried yet sending an ETH from Coinbase but there should be a preview of the gas estimates you will be used on the transaction. I say that because when sending BTC from Coinbase, there's a preview of the fee on the transaction before sending it. The same case might be on sending ETH.

No choice but you need to add ETH to your Coinbase wallet. Make it around $50-$100 to cover the fees. With the Berlin upgrade, I saw at least a low gas fees now compare before. Or you can trade it to their own trading platform, Coinbase Pro so you don't need to send it to other trading exchange.

Next time, buy ETH on the platform where you will trade it if possible to avoid any further transfers.

Trading on ETH network is  not worthwhile for small trades due to high gas fees. Gas prices are lower in the evening and on weekends. Watch coinmarketcap.com topmost line  for low gas price before trading your USDT.

There is no other way but to pay for the gas. if indeed your assets are still in exchange, maybe you exchange them for other coins that have cheap shipping fees, such as XLM, Doge, TRX, you can see them in the FAQ section of the exchange, check before buying friends.

Don't worry mate. You have a little  problem, the solution is very simple.  A fee is required for each transaction on the Ethereum network. You just buy some amount of ETH which meet up transaction fee and deposit it in your coinbase ETH wallet. Then you can move your ERC20 USDT.  However, if you buy TRC20 USDT instead of ERC20 USDT later, your transaction cost will be much lower.  But in that case you have to keep TRX in your wallet as transaction fee.

The lack of knowledge for beginners is the lack of research and reading flow in all crypto even though they have gas for trading fees or to send funds to anyone, so the first for beginners to prepare gas costs before owning other altcoins.

You cannot transact anything on the ETH network without having a balance on your ETH Wallet. It's best to convert some of that USDT to ETH and then convert and swap. I think the fees with that are quite enormous the last time I transacted in the network. It's best to just swap another currency or find out what other coin you can purchase in Coinbase.

this requires some ETH which you must send to your address before making the next transaction. almost all wallets also require transaction fees.
looks like you should seek recommendations from other people first before you start investing. I'm afraid you made the wrong choice. ask not to get lost.

I think you should buy eth, enough for you to send your tokens. Don't try to buy too little eth but just enough eth, like the recommend gas fee by your wallet. Else you will experience what I have experience yesterday. I tried to send my tokens to Kucoin exchange. The recommended fee was 6$ in eth but I set it to 3.5$ in eth, the transaction failed and I lost 3.5$ in eth. Few years ago it's not like this.

The problem was already said in the notification.
You don't have enough Ethereum.
Now you need to purchase that coin if you want to continue sending your ERC-20 token to another address.
Don't worry it won't be lost there. All you have to do now is save money and buy the expensive Ethereum then try sending it again or you could wait for their update.
But in your case, I think you'll just let it go and pick a new exchange where you could save more money with transaction fees.
Gas fees are soaring in the Ethereum network and I won't recommend that.

convert it to binance or keep in usdt and trade in bsc dex such as cake and you will not get message "you dont have enough gas fee".
It's on his Coinbase wallet, he has no Ethereum for the gas fee. Coinbase doesn't support BNB as it's their competitor. So telling it to convert to BNB isn't appropriate on his situation because he can't do that in Coinbase.

You must be funding your coinbase wallet with some ethereum to be able to swap or trade your USDT. There's no option to trade without any gas fees because this is the main requirement to did the transaction or trade.
You will never able to create any transaction if you are not funding your wallet with small amounts of ethereum to pay the gas fees.

You must never try to use uniswap to trade or swap small amount of money.
