Looking good but man those cards are expensive in AUSTRALIA.
I just ordered 7 x 1070, around 500$ each. Given the were discount for around 100$on each Smiley
This is my first rig so I'm excited. Just don't know how I can mount them. Need some good shelf thing....
You are spot on mate, we seem to pay more for everything, even power (South Australia has the highest Kw/h price in the world). Mine are mounted on an old wooden bedside table with an aluminium rail screwed to it to hold them up  Cheesy

I'm currently mining with 14x gtx 1060 and pulling 23mh/s@75w, these cards respond very well to a MC and throttling the power back!
+1 on this, i love the 1060's - they are very durable and handle MC changes very well. couldnt look past them.

Thanks for the feedback!

Regarding Hashrates, as i use 1060's and know first hand what they can do - i have put in its "tweaked" hashrate. but as for the others, as i have to assume a newcomer may stumble across this and not know/understand how to squeeze extra out of the card - i thought it best to play it safe with the "out of the box" hashrates.

With regards to cost per Mh/s - i know what you are saying and i would love to do that but the combination of different board/cpu and ram combinations are just so many and cost differences even more varied, i would not be able to cover them all. this is purely for the selection of the GPU's.

Appreciate the comments!

cheers,
Skully

To make price per MH more accurate, you should also include price of needed rigs. For example, one rig of 6x GPUs (MOBO, CPU, RAM, HDD, PSU, frame) may cost lets say 200 EUR. You should count how many separate rigs you need for given GPU count and add their price.

Hey man! This looks good, but some of the hashrastes i think are pretty under stated, i did not have a 1070 but from what i've read time and time again its 26-32 mhs based on your luck and over clocking skills. The rx 570/580s might perform these numbers on stocl but with a modded BIOS and mild overclocking you can get way more than that, the gtx 1060 seems ok though, 22mhs is probably the average of what you'll get on them.

Hi Guys!

Long time reader - first time poster.

The selection of just *what* hardware to use for Ethereum (or any altcoin) mining seems to have come up a lot. I have personally mined Ethereum for several months and built on, and perfected my rig. i started with just one GTX1060 6Gb 8Ghz - experimented with some AMD cards and lower end Nvidia cards. I now run a rig of 7 GTX1060's at a hashrate of between 140-150Mh/s.

The question on what hardware to use has never been simple, i think many people purely look for the highest hashrate with little regard for cost of the hardware, power consumption etc. etc. So to make a long story short a friend of mine came to me about setting up his own rig. To demonstrate the pros and cons of each card i threw together a basic spreadsheet with the higher end Nvidia cards in it (as thats what i prefer personally) comparing power usage and cost, cost per mh/s, hashrates etc. to help him make an informed decision. He found it extremely useful and suggested i post it.

So i have added some AMD cards - there are a total of 10 cards now and i hope with some suggestions from you guys (if this is something you think would be useful) - i hope to expand it and make improvements to it to hopefully help people reduce some of the trial and error in setting up a mining rig. You can add your cost per kw/h of pwer and the desired hasrate you wish to get and it will tell you the amount of specific model cards you would need to achieve it, the cost of power per day to run them etc.

The pricing in it is local to me, the individual cost of cards and power will obviously be different place to place, fields to the left of the black bar are completely editable. fill them with info more accurate to you.

Anyway - link to the sheet is here - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sKEn1zlAis04gQL9E-gtxGIEGmODDq-V0cf8xKsanhk/edit#gid=1578208320

Look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Cheers!
Skully.
