How do you know if you hold ETH classic or the new ETH?

I bought a handful of ETH in September 2016. I think it was literally days before the hard fork. I didn't even f#%king know what a hard-fork was!

Anyhow, I read somewhere that ETH Classic are almost worthless. Given I bought before the hard fork (if only days), does that mean I'm stuck with worthless ETH classic?

Thanks for any thoughts.

what is ETH classic and new ETH, the real ethereum is ETH not ETC
is early ETC launch much people can hope ETC price can incraese to over 100 dollar,
but you can see ETH price this now incraese very high maybe can incraese to 100 dollar

but if you want hold in long time is good buy ETC, because this now ETC price is still low not high price

well ethereum classic it's not worthless it has only a smaller marketcap and a lower value, but it's profitable to mine, still i think the best option is to choose ethereum original fork, it has a bigger cap and can hold quite a big amount of hashpower, but the original fork is going to pos very soon, and it's better to be prepared for that, i see that ETC offer a nice alternative when ETH will go pos

The hard fork was in July. So if you bought in September, it was well after, it depends on whether you bought ETC or ETH.
