If you have the private key you do not need any password, the password is for the encrypted json file that is meant to be imported by other wallets. you can watch the balance using etherscan.io by looking up the address.

Hello!

Please bear with me, I'm just getting started. I need some guidelines.

On a air-gapped live usb machine I have generated a Paper Wallet with myetherwallet.com, downloaded from github.

First question: I used a password, generated it and printed it out. But it seems that it has printed the Private key unencrypted, do I still need the to save the password? I haven't saved the json file, I only want it on paper, is that OK?

Second Question: Do I only need the Public key and the Private key to retrieve my funds?

Third: To safely watch the balance, can I use the Public address as Bitcoin?

Thank you for any help, it would help me a lot to get this figured out.
