the chance of success is very small, and almost impossible, because both are clearly different platforms, you have to be careful not to use the wrong chain, the risk you will face is losing the money you have.

It won't work bro because they both have different platforms, the wrong chain will make you lose funds. make sure you always be careful when sending tokens because so many people lose money just because of problems like this

Dear friends, can we send ERC20 tokens to the BSC wallet address (BEP20). I see that the BSC wallet address with Ethereum (ERC20) is the same. What if we use it to reduce transaction costs. Huh
erc20 network with bep20 is different, you can't send it randomly...

I heard there are some people who get stuck with this and end up losing their tokens, so before sending it you should first check what network you are using, whether it is erc20 or bep20.

Thank you for answering me.
EQL I have on Trust Wallet and they are in ERC20, I can not send to bmb wallet, I read that it needs to be done through Binance Bridge? That's the problem.

As far as I understand I need to somehow send EQL-ERC20 to EQL-BEP2? But I don't know how.
After some research it seems I know what's the problem with you. The first time Equal token created is using Ethereum network (ERC-20), but on June 8, 2019 they announce to change the network to Binance smart chain (BEP-20) [1]

So you're need to swap your EQL-ERC20 to EQL-BEP2 from Equal wallet itself, but I didn't really sure it will works right now because they write July 1, 2019 is the last day to swap it.

But it's not wrong to try since there's no way except this, if the features is gone... write a ticket to the support is the last chance.

In my experience, you can only send BEP20 tokens to ERC20 wallets. However, your token is still BEP20, and to do the transaction you have to change the mainnet to BSC.

Yes you can as long as it is under BSC platform mate,  but if it is under ERC20 probably you can't, it won't work for sure.
Before, I never know its not possible, but I was wrong due to as long as the platform is under BSC there will be no problem
at all about it. But still being cautious as an individual here need to be apply in the first place.

looks like the OP has a slightly wrong understanding, or the OP is still confused with some addresses that are mentioned and mistaken for the same.
BEP 20 is not a binance smart chain (BSC). but I am sure what the OP means is the BSC which has the same address form as ERC 20.
Anyway, what the OP wants, I'm sure, won't happen. because the ERC network will certainly be different from the use of the BSC network. although the BSC network can also be opened with a metamask, all the assets we have in the wallet must change when we adjust the network from ERC to BSC.

Let's take any Binance Chain (BNB) BEP2 address:
bnb1mpfjh965wet0q0he05keds5q7fn4mqg8w6x2hn
Try sending ERC20 tokens to this address. I just tried it and my wallet says it's an invalid address.
I think that if you want to send BEP2 tokens to an Ethereum address, you will have the same error.
But you need to be careful

This is why most of the traders has to be careful with their transfers before going on. Check and ask if your receiver or the exchange is BEP20 token/network.
And you verify it first if it's ERC20 token because your funds that will be transferred from ERC20 network to BEP20 could be lost forever especially if that's your life savings.

Even though BEP20 is an extended version of ERC20, you can not send ERC2- tokens directly to BSC. I thin this confusion might have occurred due to the fact that you see the same wallet address for both types of tokens on Trust Wallet. In fact, in that case, though addresses are same, the wallet does the rest for you. But in other wallets, which are especially designed either fro ERC20 or BEP20, this can not be done.

No, it is impossible, because ERC-20 and Binance Smart Chain(BEP-20) are totally different network. If you send your token which you describe, then I think, you lose your token, so be careful. If you don’t lose your token, then you should send on right track(erc-20 send to erc-20 address and bep-20 send to bep-20 address).

Dear friends, can we send ERC20 tokens to the BSC wallet address (BEP20). I see that the BSC wallet address with Ethereum (ERC20) is the same. What if we use it to reduce transaction costs. Huh

Yes you can send your ERC20 token to BSC wallet address(BEP20) since they both use ETH address.  The thing is you cannot see your ERC20 token on BSC chain.  If you are using metamask, you need to set your network to Ethereum Main network to be able to see your ERC20 token (just add the contract address of the token you are sending).  Things is likewise in BSC.  But if you want to use it to reduce your transaction costs, you are still charged in ETH if you send ERC20 token and BNB(bsc network) if you send BEP20.  Though you can swap your ERC20 token to BEP20 token through Binance Bridge (if it is supported by Binance smart chain) and it is still charged in ETH until your token is converted to BEP20.

Meaning you need to convert your ERC20 token to BEP20 token in order to enjoy the reduced transaction cost.  Just sending your ERC20 token to BEP20 wallet address do not reduce your tx fee since the transaction is still on the Ethereum chain.

Btw, you shouldn't send an ERC20 token to an exchange platform's BEP20 address(since it will be lost).  It is ok to send them to your own BEP20 address (the one you hold the private key) since it won't be lost even though you can't see it on the BSC network but you can find them on the ETH network.

In short ETH address is capable of receiving ERC20 token and BEP20 token.

if you want to throw away your token, then you can try to send your ERC20 token to BSC, because surely your token will be lost, therefore never send ERC20 token to BSC if you don't want to lose your token, because you will never be able to send token from ERC20 to BSC until whenever (ERC20 and BSC are different things).

It is not possible mate. You can't send Erc20 tokens to bep20 wallet or BEP20 token to Erc20 wallet because they are different network. In some wallets the address of ERC 20 and Address of BEP20 is same in this you can send but token network will remain same it will not change

They are basically two different blockchains and they are not related. The address similarity between the two chains is because they have a bridge that is 100% compatible with each other.
You can turn ERC20 into BEP20 if the project's token is integrative and convertible on the bridge that BSC built.

You need to bridge your tokens to BSC from Ethereum. The bridge only supports a few tokens. You can either sell your tokens for ETH, bridge the ETH and rebuy the tokens on BSC or use the ETHEREUM to xDAI bridge then bridge to BSC bridge (only do this if the token doesn't exist on BSC yet. Tokens will have different contract addresses on each chain even though your wallet address stays the same, so be careful.

I had been asking for this same thing before...maybe because in the TrustWallet one has the same address for both the Smart Chain and Ethereum and yes you can have ERC-20 and BEP20 send to the same address, but it is the sending away from your TrustWallet that one has to be careful. Actually, though it is convenient to have the same address for both networks am sure this can be a cause of confusion for many especially when it is time for them to send the asset from TW. Anyway, one must always be careful and must check triple times before clicking send.

never try to send your token from ERC20 to BSC or from BSC to ERC20, because you will lose your token, so even though the address code of ERC20 and BSC is the same, but of course ERC20 and BSC have different blockchain, so you cannot send your token from ERC20 to BSC or from BSC to ERC20, therefore if you don't want to lose your token then don't ever do it.
so we have to use bridge to convert from erc blockchain to bsc. if we dont use bridge ofcourse we will loose our money. i think we have to understand this basic information to save our asset. not every  erc 20 token could convert , developer team must provide the bridge and community should now about it when dev announce about migration.

As explained by others the BSC wallet address looks the same as ERC20 address simply because they ripped off the entire code but you cannot send ERC20 tokens to BSC wallets, same like you cannot send Bitcoin to Bitcoin Cash wallet. Hope you will not do that kind of blunders as you are aware that the cross transactions can be irreversible and you will loose the coins forever  Tongue.

You can't, to avoid losing the tokens or assets you send, you must always ensure that tokens on the BSC network must also be sent to wallets that support the BSC network. Crossing the token delivery mechanism will cause your token to burn and you will lose your assets.

Even though the addresses listed are the same, they actually run on different protocols and platforms, so ERC20 and BEP20 do not support each other.

To find out more details about the ERC20 and BEP20 coins, you can read this article as another reference that can make you understand about these two types of tokens: ERC20 to BEP20 — Complete Guide

Don't try it, you will loose your tokens, yes, the address and even the private key might be the same, but understand that this are two different blockchains, the tokens  you are sending from Ethereum blockchain is sure built on Ethereum but not built on binance smart chain, so therefore this means that you wil loose them if you send them to bsc, likewise you can't send tokens built only on binance smart chain over to Ethereum as erc20 tokens, you will loose your tokens, except the token is ruining in both blockchains, then the team of developers of the project will provide you with a guideline on how to switch the token from one blockchain to the other.

Never try to send your ERC20 network token on BSC network becouse this two network is different and if you want to send your ERC20 token on BSC network then you lose your token. But if your token Support BSC network then you can do it.
This is correct but not 100% correct. If you send to an exchange in this way then the coin can be lost if the customer care do not help, like the customer care will not help and it is good to be on the safer side, prevention is better than cure because there might be no cure and the coin could lost forever. But if it is noncustodial wallet it is sent to, all the person need to do is to get the seed phrase or private key on the wallet that support BSC, after importing the seed phrase, the coin will appear.

The gas fee reduced a lot for ethereum transaction in the current week so if you want you can make use of it, or try learning how to connect your ethereum wallet on Binance network using metamask wallet.

How to Move Assets from Ethereum to Binance Smart Chain — Binance Bridge

I guess this would help me, I did send ETH from Binance to my MEW wallet using the BSC and the balance did not appear, it was stupid move by me as I did not research much before doing it, I just called it a test and just put a small amount, but with this info, I'm not interested and see if I can still recover it again.

I believe that when you send ETH under BEP20 on Binance, you can get wrappedEth [wETH], meaning Binance will automatically convert your ERC20 ETH to Bep20 Eth and you won't find it on mew as I guess BSC isn't supported on MEW.  You can check it on Metamask or other wallet that support BSC network.  You can also check it on the BSC explorer and I am 100% sure that your ETH is there.

It isn't magic and still need a Binance Bridge to be able to convert your ERC20 token to BEP20 and that is still charged in ETH as gas.

if you want to reduce costs try to swap your token to bep, by using a trust wallet,

No, not really because I was already done that accidentally in the Binance wallet and it was not shown on the BSC Network address, But we can indeed use the same address if the wallet has supported both BSC and ERC20 of Ethereum Network Its a small amount only that's why I don't bother to recover it anymore because Binance already warned that it will be lost if it was sent to the wrong network.

You cant send erc20 token to the BSC wallet address.

Actually, if you use erc20 for sending, your token will remain the same chain. In order to change it, you need to have a converter, sort of BInance, because the exchange provide a good ecosystem to convert erc20 token to bsc token (if your token is supported on both chain)

Well there are already a way to send ERC token to BSC wallet and that is what a bridge of blockchains do. Maybe this was a big challenge way back then about converting or sending from different blockchains but now it is already resolve. And in fact, there are already projects existing that are using this bridge like APYSwap. Well I don't have any idea of what other ICO projects that are using this bridge blockchain too.

basically, the platforms are different, ERC uses ETH whereas BSC uses BNB, and that obviously can't. however, it would be different if a particular project swapped from ERC to BSC. however, at the moment it doesn't seem like there is anything like it. most of the time people are back to developing new projects with the BSC platform.

This is only possible if you are using exchanges/wallets that supports BEP20 tokens and the token itself is also on BSC.

On Binance for example, you can send SUSHI under BSC network to a non-custodial wallet like Safepal. You'll probably spend less than $1 on that. If you want to convert it back as erc-20, you can use the wallet's swap feature.

Your ERC token will stay in ETH chain as there is no direct method to jump ship from ETH to BSC, except via gateway that convert ERC20 to BEP20. Some tokens offer this functionality when you go to the gateway -> convert your ERC to BEP -> ERC locked or burned -> BEP sent to a designated address. And it still cost you ETH fees plus BNB fees. Suck!

But sending ERC20 tokens to BSC wallets does not cause this problem because both of them use ETH network.
while they share some similarities, doesn't mean you can substitute one with another. like others mentioned above, you can't simply send your erc tokens and trade it on pancakeswap, just like how you can't send eth and then use it on bsc chain. be careful with it.

You can do this because both of these use the ETH address. If you make the mistake of changing the identity of a token by sending it to an address based on another network.
For example, if you send your dogecoin to an ETH address, you lose it because both are independent networks. But sending ERC20 tokens to BSC wallets does not cause this problem because both of them use ETH network.

No, definitely you can't send your ERC20 tokens to BSC network directly from your own private wallet, you need help from bridge services for doing that action. Although they have the same address but both of them are on a different chain, if you happen to send it then your ERC20 tokens won't be shown on BSC, the worst case might you will lose the tokens.
its true, every project which is migrate to binance smart chain now building bridge. so trader could swap or convert their eth token to bsc. as we know swapping eth token in dex like uniswap need alot of gas fee and much people complaint on it. bridge was the solution for all this , so its why binance and dex in bsc will growth beat ethereum dex.

One thing to make sure you are doing the right thing is ask the team themselves if they are supporting the BSC network for their token. Normally, if a project, an ERC20 token switch to BSC or make a bridge to BSC network, they will give announcements to its holders. And they will also give tutorials on how to transfer their token to BSC network. Remember, it is not the first time someone asked regarding this. But better communicate straight to the token dev or the group channel as they can direct you in a much direct way.
mostly , dev team always make announcement about it, and usually community want this bridge due it could create hype when a project join on binance smart chain ecosystem. its really easy for us ,only follow the instruction and every token automaticly will migrate to bsc , so special skill for us to do it.

Still to much need to do.

I guess If the destination address supported both chain and your token on ETH chain should be can't right? the reason your token is ETH chain but the address destination support both addresses and you want to send into BSC address should be can't because you don't have a token on your address with BSC chain before you actually bridge the token or the token is available a version pegged token on BSC chain.

This whole explanation still makes me confused ~ LOL IMO, this whole things still dangerous at all, and everyone have some potential to lose the token or your fund.

Dear friends, can we send ERC20 tokens to the BSC wallet address (BEP20). I see that the BSC wallet address with Ethereum (ERC20) is the same. What if we use it to reduce transaction costs. Huh

This question will be repeated so many times because of the same BSC address of Ethereum blockchain in the "Trust wallet". You shouldn't do that without "Trust wallet" support, suppose you shouldn't use the same address as MEW to receive BSC tokens. Just take advantage of which service any wallet provided to us.

Gamble responsibly
You can not.

If the wallet support BSC tokens, then you can send it.

If the wallet do not support BSC and you make a mistake of sending BSC tokens, all you need is to get a wallet that support the BSC, import your private key into the wallet (example of the wallet is Trust wallet) and you will be able to see your BSC token.

The worst case is when you send BSC token to a custodial exchange that do not support it, some exchanges will try to recover back the fund for you, some will not, some will say it depends on the amount sent, but the exchange is having your token certainly but many people will not be given and will lost on the users side, that is why seed phrase (having a private key) is very important. Not your key not your coin.
