So far I myself still refer to the two sites when I want to check the transaction gas fees, both are still a little inaccurate, but that's all I can see, because I also haven't found any other sites about it that are more accurate.
True, based on my observation when you follow the ethgasstation and it will be saying if you need at least 331 gwei but the reality is different because there are some token transfers that got confirmed by the block is putting only 231 gwei as its fees. It's a very interesting thing to be discussed. The ethereum fees are so crazy these days.
You will never find a site with high accuracy. It's about how good you can get the actual data about the fees on the site like etherscan or bloxy

It's better if you are trying to checking some latest transactions on etherscan directly and that will give you an accurate data about how much gas is needed.
This is my formula to calculate how much gas that i should paid to deliver my transaction on ethereum network.

Any gas tracker sites were using different formulas. I have been creating my own site to calculate the fees based on median fees and i just got the data for the gas from ethereum network and that's why my result was different with ethgastation.
i have been running my own nodes too.
You can't trust the gas tracker site but just try to take some new txs that broadcasted on ethereum network from here https://etherscan.io/txs

This really answered the question, the difference was because the formula behind the calculation of their site.
Of course its not accurate since the blockchain was busy, dynamic and have many things which will change every seconds.

Just like cmc and coingecko, the info are not that accurate but we still use them for quick references.
So if you want actual data, just like what Walker suggested, just check the etherscan and you will have idea what is the actually going on.
We can't expect those sites to give the precise fees but they are good reference sites that we can check about.

It doesn't matter to me actually.

You refer them both with the purpose as long as the results are almost similar to each other. Gwei changes from time to time and it's like the same as the exchanges rate.

They are not similar but close to each other.

Both have almost same or close output because almost all the times, such gas price observation and the prediction comes from the fee used in previous block and the current pending txs. There's nothing wrong with their speculation.

You can see, both of them was really different
Etherscan using :
- Low
- Average
- High

And ETH Gas Station :
- Standar
- Fast
- ASAP (Really Fast)

If you compare both of them, ETH Gas Station Standard could be the same as the Average fee on Etherscan. So, when you are used Standar fee from ETH Gas Station your transaction still can get a confirmation with maybe 10-15 minutes.

But kinda different with etherscan when you used LOW, your transaction could be stuck on the chain. So you must know both of these information have their own formula same as zazad@ said.

Just know gas will be irrelevant in about 50 to 80 more years. Ethereum fan boys probably are looking for more connected to reality term soon  Grin

I took a look at the two gas tracking sites and they have completely different values i don't think they do a real-time tracking, you have to use an average between the two values, certainly a minimum of 8 $ for a transaction seems unheard of to me, my wallet coinomi however proposes three values slow, normal and fast and i choose the value from there, so far no transaction has been blocked or returned, just hope that the gas necessary for the transactions goes down

Each project uses its own formulas for calculation. You may even notice that the price of Ethereum also differs because each cryptocurrency explorer has different algorithms.
I am using these gastrackers:
https://ethgasstation.info/index.php
https://etherscan.io/gastracker
Use a value slightly above average

After I looked for information on the ethereum.org website there were 2 tools besides
https://ethgasstation.info/ and https://etherscan.io/gastracker
that is :
1. https://stat.bloxy.info/superset/dashboard/gas/?standalone=true
2. https://www.blocknative.com/gas

but I haven't used it before.

If you need the most accurate website to check ethereum gas fees, may not exist.
all the websites above only show estimates, so sometimes accurate sometimes misses.

This is my observation. The gas price estimate given on the sites like:
https://etherscan.io/gastracker
https://ethgasstation.info

aren't accurate to the time taken in real by token transfers, dex or dapps transactions. Even the data published on the above two sites vary a lot likeas it shows 261 Gwei on ethgas and 208 on etherscan for a 30 secs transaction respectively.
Is there any website which is accurate enough to give good time estimate?
