Op has it totally wrong. Scotland's never getting a separate deal precisely because of catalonia.

Eu ministers have made sympathetic noises but they know it sets a precedent they'll never allow.

Sturgeon announced she was going, and then brazenly turned up and they had to be polite to her. Some of them undoubtedly think it would be fun if the UK broke up - but there is no benefit to Europe in Scotland joining, it has a deficit of 10% of GDP, a small population, and can't afford to contribute much to replace the money the UK has been contributing.

France and Spain have said no separate talks will be held with Scotland, so what you're saying is rubbish. Those are two of the main countries within Europe and Spain has a veto against Scotland joining - they will use it precisely because of Catalonia.

This week sturgeon was welcome like a savior in Bruxelles... She could inflict a nice punishment to the U.K. However when the people of Catalonia ask for their independence it falls in the deaf ears of the commission... And in Ukraine they went as far as supporting a civil war. Fasten your seatbelt England it has just begun...
EU tries to make all countries that have joined the UK will come out and join the EU so the EU can still have a power in continental Europe. actually in these cases the EU does not want the UK out of the EU.
