Great stuff.

I would love to see a dropbox like service be available to bitcoiners!

As you wish Smiley

We have decided to act quickly, see this link:

is cloudspace yet another dropbox? as we already have sparkleshare.

Cloudspace as in "storage space in a computing cloud", not as in a product name.
Can you clarify what a computing cloud is?  Does that mean that data is spread across many computers in a P2P fashion?

can you put a link to the offer as I can't find it

i will put up a more detailed information tomorrow along with a link, we are using interspire shopping cart and have done a quick and dirty bitcoin module for it to allow purchase of all our products with bitcoin, from simple sync client to cloudspace to enterprise class cloudsoftware. we will also make the interspire shopping cart module available as opensource since the current implementation has room for improvement

I'm not a fan of "cloud" anything (it's a gimmick IMO), but would love to see a cheap method of online backup.

we cover online backup, cross pc/laptop/whatever entity synchronization/file versioning (sic) along with cloudspace in one package as it just makes sense to bundle "data management" with realtime offsite backup. all aspects are individually selectable though and we also offer a server package to do everything inhouse, for those who cant/wont trust any third party to hold data.

How is distributed, reliable computing a gimmick?
It's not reliable if it's over the internet.  It's also significantly slower than having data stored on a local machine, or at the very least a local server.  And most cloud computing isn't distributed on the server side, it's usually just hosted by a single service provider, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say by "distributed".

Lots of disadvantages and very little advantage.  I'll take hardware that I have control over, data storage that I have control over, faster speeds and response time, and no monthly fees for using it.

Hi,

i was wondering if people would be interested in Cloudspace for BTC. We are currently evaluating if we should add BTC as payment option to our Sync/Backup/Cloudspace Software with a pricing pegged to mtgox exchange rates, so assuming a rate of 6 it would be about 15 BTC for the Software including 5 licenses and 50GB Cloudspace.
I appreciate your feedback.
