Are we going to be seeing a crypto project/coin/token or which ever form it would take, coming up as a form or relief crypto in times of war?.

I can tell you that there already has been a lot of fraud and phishing attempts here in Ukraine, posing as humanitarian or military aid, but outside of crypto. There's probably a lot of this also happening with crypto too. Especially with NFT, which is ripe for this kind of scam. Just post some crappy drawing on Opensea and claim that it's for Ukraine, and because of the market nature there's a chance someone will buy it without checking.

So, if you want to donate crypto, I strongly recommend only going through large well-known funds and organizations, and check that the addresses and organizations are genuine multiple times.

One man food is another man poison, one man poverty is another man wealth. War always make some people rich.

The following people get rich in war

1. Those who sell gun
2. Those who supply food
3. And those who trick people to help..

Even the Political class in the war countries scam among themselves to enrich theirselves

There is a famous saying - Every Disaster Is An Opportunity You Must Seize

Two years back when COVID19 happened we saw a few projects that popped up at that time. I assume the same would happen now. It is just a vicious cycle for example when dogecoin pumped, there were multiple projects that were a replica of the same.

You cannot stop them but you can certainly avoid them

Scammers are out there and once you fall for there cheap tricks/schemes, your funds are gone and non refundable. Don't let that be the story!
Some of the tricks that scammers use no longer qualify to be categorised as "cheap schemes", some scam methods are sophisticated and highly calculated that it may fool someone who is only on the lookout for the cheap schemes. A big mistake you will make is to underate scammers and the lengths they can go to make their scheme a success.

The Russian Ukrainian crisis presents a good opportunity for scammers to think creatively in a negative manner just as we witnessed at the time when COVID started to cause damage, some people have already fallen victim even without knowing as they have donated money for relief or other purposes but tied to the crisis. Don't let scammers get your coins, do not underate them so you never let your guard down.

Over the years of encountering many scams here many people are been much aware on such schemes and can determine easily if the project launched is a scam. Luckily we have this forum which we can share some informations about such schemes as well we can learn from other who contribute with related to scam issues. I don't think it will succeed here and might those scam projects will fail.

Now that the world has been reminded of wars and pandemic breakouts, would we be seeing any of these...
If we do, let's be guided. It could always be a pump and dump and in the crypto space, everyone wants what you've got. Never sell your precious sat for any shit token. It could always end badly!
We shouldnt actually associated relief and donations to crypto cause it might not be actually be legit. There are none platform yet to have this feature. But I am indeed watching for quartz(sandclock project) in which a farming platform which havent launch yet. Included in their features are options to convert APR rewards into nft receipts or choose a donation % to certain charity. Well it might too early to say its good but the team is legit and they dont have any premined coins except the public sale they did few months ago. If youre interested Google them.

There will always be those who will use someone else’s tragedy to benefit themselves.
People become emotional when they see a call for humanitarian aid, many will send money without checking, and scammers are counting on it.
Exactly! Somehow, these scammees have got a way to propel a more captivating massage than even the original would carry. They shove it in your faces and your emotions are all up in a second and like every other human with the financial capacity and the will power to give in support of a justifiable course, your bound to want to lend a helping hand. Unfortunately, you end up funding the wallet of a scam. In order to avoid this and I'll give certain pointers.

1. One needs to grow thick skin, at least to ensure your emotioj build up doesn't put you in a rush
2. Responses and testimonies don't add up to building trust on a page or advert, ensure you DYOR and don't go with any page that isn't verified.

I recently came across news that the Ukrainian government has opened digital wallets and started accepting donations in cryptocurrencies.

This is the official twitter account of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, so the news is verified and credible.

Not Your Keys, Not Your Bitcoin
Some people take advantage of freedom that crypto has given everyone. If not for decentralization, it will be proper if we have crypto police or kind of investigation department that will check projects before launch, it will be a interesting aspect if we could dive into decentralized investigation to protect everyone in crypto, it will really boost confident, only if it will work though because audit are not enough for this smello projects.

Another thing is that, now a days investors love anything that has to do with quick money, the quickest way to magically turn water into wine and live their dream life. Cheesy
If an investor can properly guide himself, they will save the say scammers and everyone the time to launch these schemes of cashing out  from people.

Slava Ukraini!
It's nothing surprising that scammers is using war in Ukraine for their own benefits. It's easy way for them to get good money. They are using every possible opportunity to make scams - war, pandemic, disasters like earthquakes, flooding and so on.
So, if you want to donate money or help in other way, you should be very careful when you pick where to send money. Looke for reputable charity organziations. If random newbie on Bitcointalk is asking for donations, don't pay attention to him. Even if you donate to high ranked member, you should be very careful and you must check his reputation.
And yeah, new coins/tokens or NFT's may be made which would be supposed to help Ukraine, but most likely it will be just cheap scam attempts.

Who knows? Even if there is one project that comes out, people should learn how to verify the legitimacy of the project (which I doubt will be legit) in the first place.

Besides, why would anyone bother buying a vapourware token thru ICO if they can find a reputable charity to help provide humanitarian needs of the Ukrainians. And if somebody fall for that kind of scheme, I am sure they need some checking. I just hope that such thing will not happen though.

Thinking of the scam

It's not surprising to see all these guys coming up to try and play on people's intelligence. Fortunately for the forum, we've got some hero's who take investigation to the nest level and ensure the safety of everyone. If only one could try and read or seek opinions before jumping into whatever.

After reading through most of the discoveries on some users and platforms organising some scam donations, using the suffering the Ukrainian people now endure to push the length of a users compassio in a bid to scam them and enrich themselves. Using the sufferings others to bring more pain to innocent philanthropist and enrich themselves (the scammers). It leaves me with no thoughts on my mind to appreciate the hero's on the platform and a thought on what could possibly be the next scheme on the crypto space.

It's no new news that, most projects in the cryptospace is fake or scam based. Just oriented with a purpose of sweeping users of there investment funds through ICOs and IEOs. With the on going chaos in our world and the emotions of people built up, coupled with the need to make money through the opportunities created in chaos, scammers have come up with a scheme that are compassion driven and promises that:

* All these funds are being sort out for to provide relief
* The focus is on the children and the elderly
* Shelter and other materials would be provided for those displaced from there homes

Now, here is my thought of a scheme that could go up into the wind if care isn't taken.

Are we going to be seeing a crypto project/coin/token or which ever form it would take, coming up as a form or relief crypto in times of war?.

As a war coin or something that could be kicked off with an ICO or IEO, through pump and dump, rally for investment funds and then, they get off the market.  Is this a likely scenario to watch out for?
We've seen that in the trendy movie squid game and the squidtoken.

Now that the world has been reminded of wars and pandemic breakouts, would we be seeing any of these...
