You literally assume that everyone's rich just because people buy it, not supposing that these people who buy shit, including possibly yourself, are only buying this because they have no choice, because if it's between buying expensive shit or literally dying because you'll lack something vital for your daily living, like a smartphone, computer, food or whatever, the choice is fucking clear.

Maybe you should think a little more introspectively when it comes to things like this so you don't sound like you're trying to make a very hot take. The prices are rising because the value of your money is diminishing, and the value of your money is diminishing because the government keeps on printing for some fucking reason, read a goddamn economics book for once in your life.

The thing is that the effect that appears that all the rich are actually wrong. Because the poor people sit at home, you can't see them. They don't buy these expensive goods, you judge only by the offer that the sellers offer to buy expensive goods, but if they offer to buy them, it doesn't mean that someone buys them. Perhaps only one out of 100 people buy them. And you think that if they offer these goods, then everyone can buy them. There are few rich people, there can't be many of them.

In essence, we should not give up on the situation, even though the pressures of life test us to the limit of our abilities. It must be admitted that all basic needs are currently increasing drastically, not balanced with the income generated, the best solution is to manage finances as wisely as possible. In my opinion, it is useless if we continue to complain about this situation, because it will not change the situation for the better, what we have to do is continue to try to increase our income so that we no longer care about the price tag when we want to buy an item. One of the tools that can be used to increase income is the Internet and social media platforms. There are so many tips, business strategies, and information that are shared immediately, we can use them according to our needs. I think if we continue to learn consistently and diligently, there are many job opportunities available on the Internet today.

It is good you try to understand that all fingers are never equal. What you are complaining about is what others might be happy about. We have different levels and status of people and that do not mean that everyone is rich or everyone can afford a particular price of a goods. Since we all have different income and ways we can make money, it is good we try to know what we are doing and look for a better way to make money. This is the same reason why the rich are always striving more to make more money so that when you are complaining that things are becoming expensive, they may not understand you since all those things are never expensive in their eyes.

Living into this world then it would really be understandable that we would really be having that different market as we do say. People who are rich are the ones who could really be able to afford those expensive things
but we do know that there are people whom really that struggle to sustain or survive themselves on everyday living specially to those people who are sitting on average or in poverty line. Increasing prices or simply
speaking about inflation aspects does really add up as years passing by on which it is really that making things even getting more worst. This is why it would really be just that better that we wont really be making up some generalization because not all are living on the same fate. There are people who are rich on which they can afford and there are people who are sitting below those lines that even buying up their food 3x a day is already that a challenge. This is why it would really be best that you should really be that minding on how to make yourself having that other source of income so that on the time that you would be able to buy something then you could really be able to afford. Living your life doesnt always mean that you would be wanting those extravagant things. Dont wish up on a life that you can be able to see into those rich people because it would really be
just that making you desperate in this case.

The fact is that the rich peoples those that can afford the expensive know matter how the price of goods going higher they can afford am, because they have already get nothing will become expensive for them but the poorest are always complaining with the way prices of things are very; and why they complain is they cannot afford higher prices of goods.

Whenever the the prices of stuff rise up is not that they will not come down but it always take a time before it can happen, so is not that when the price of things getting higher and the people can’t afford it; Not that the thing will can definitely fall in that range it take some days to happen.

Also not a few parents who succeed in giving moral responsibility to their children how to live. Every parent will definitely try to give their best to their children but sometimes they are wrong in educating. Children must be given freedom but cannot be separated from the control of parents as responsible people. Usually the morals of a child are not much different from parents so they can enter to provide the best education in life, especially those that are directly related to financial.

It is certain that this happens because parents do not educate their children properly so they do not have any skills to continue the wealth inherited. How can they be able to run a parent's business while they are not taught anything and this is a common case where a child fails to develop his parents' business. Why did the previous person teach responsibility in advance to children because parents think to shape their character must have responsibility for themselves.

But parenting now changes because parents spoil children more than allowing them to be responsible for their lives. When given the responsibility of running a parent's business they have difficulty developing because there is no knowledge whatever they learned before.

Not really, what this means is that people in order to get by, ask for all kind of loans hoping for things to improve, however we are reaching a tipping point, as consumer spending makes a great deal of the world economy and if it goes down as people cannot borrow anymore, then the economy will go down with it.

This is making governments very worried and they are asking for people to keep spending and getting more debt, but for most people this is not possible anymore, so most likely a reduction on consumer spending is coming.

I feel like your point is not what you exactly wrote here, since somehow there are a type of rich people and middle class, they claim their disability of affording life expenses, while in reality they have much more wealth than you can imagine.
The world now is full of way rich people and very poor people, the difference between them is extremely large. Moreover, where some people barely afford their daily food and meals, some others are gambling what worth a lifetime of food supply for thousands of people.

Personally, I felt like everything keeps changing over time way quicker than before and people got cold hearted, where most of people are living in social media. Economy is different from the truth we are living or the real numbers governments shares.

I agreed about few things which are you mentioning here but still we have to understand it's not only mindset we are having in Russia we are having many big blunders into their history just because of their own ego and legacy, and it's always painful for the peoples those are suffering due to their wrong decisions and invading other country's hobby.

Recently due to things like these we are having many changes with many collapses and business are surely suffering because we are having no alternatives and life is getting more challenges for the peoples, but sadly they are not able to bring changes with it's also happening in many other countries and those are suffering due to bad leadership and bad decisions which are make these peoples.

Even if the price of a product is very high, people have to buy that product for living. And depending on this purchasing power, if we consider its financial side, it would be wrong. There are many who have low income but have nothing to do. Even if they do not buy other essentials, they are forced to buy food items. They can never tell anyone about their condition and there is no chance that they will rise from that position. So we cannot consider everyone as rich. When the price of goods increases, the value of money also decreases. Due to which people are not rich even though money is used more. Almost all of the money they earn is spent on day-to-day activities.

We are mistaking the number of rich people, and what it means to have high prices. If a nation has 100 million people, and 1 million of them buys a yacth for a million dollars each, that yacht company becomes incredibly rich, like Elon Musk levels of rich, but the other 99 million people could still be very poor, that's what we call wealth gap. I am not going to bring in nationality in this, because many nations are like this.

Look at any nation in the world, you will see that there are some rich people and those rich people end up buying those products, so the price stays high and even goes higher, whereas we are seeing that a lot of people are poor and can't afford anything there.

This wealth gap allows companies to keep the prices high, but if we didn't had wealth gap, we would still have a lot of people with some money and that would mean that we would still buy those products, it's the same money, just distributed better.

There is no need to have a nation where there are rich people going for a space tourism when there are people dying of starvation. I am not saying lets be communists, that won't work, but maybe lets just try to make sure people are not dying of starvation? Is that bad to ask?

You are hugely mistaken. 7 years ago I could afford a good rent, premium GYM and swimming pool membership, high quality food, a trip in the restaurant once a week and etc... Today I can't afford them because my rent price went so high thanks to Russia-Ukraine war that I spend 60% of my salary in rent, 30% of my salary in food and 10% of my salary in GYM and supplements. I haven't been in a restaurant for two straight years, I haven't been in a premium GYM for also 2 years, I haven't bought new clothes for two straight years and I can't save my money, I'm on paycheck on paycheck but I'm exclusively talking about what I haven't done from my salary. Definitely I make some crypto trades and that has significantly affected my wealth in a positive manner but the salary situation is terrible. Yes, my salary went significantly up but rent prices and food prices went so up also that quality of life sucks today compared to how I was living 7 years ago.

So you are very wrong. People aren't rich, they only spend money on basic things. You are forced to spend all of your money on food and rent because otherwise, you'll be out or hungry.

Yes, bro, as long as we are still physically and spiritually healthy we still have to try as hard as possible to achieve all our desires, when we are rich, never feel arrogant, but have to be humble, you can be rich, but you also have to guard your rich heart, because no matter what we are fellow human beings must help each other, we live in a world that needs each other's help, so never take other people for granted, in society we also have to maintain our attitude when we are at the peak of wealth, everyone can reach that point as long as they continue keep trying, we all have our sustenance, we just have to live with it and be grateful for what we already have, with that we will not compare ourselves with other people, everything has its own measure.

In social life, there is always a difference through the status and income of each person so that we can know which people are wise enough in using money and which are still trying to get money and become rich in their lives. Sometimes there are some people whose economic living standards are still below that always want to try something they have never felt before and think of it as a self reward to themselves such as buying goods or products that they could not have before or vacationing with luxurious facilities. Although this sounds natural, sometimes they also forget that this cannot be done all the time but they force it which makes the mindset change over time.

I have a co-worker like this who in the end it makes him hassle with expenses that he can actually minimize from the start.  Therefore, it is important for us to sort out which ones we should be able to do and which ones can have a bigger impact and cannot be borne because in the end this is always centered on too much prestige.

Well we have different status and different ways of spending money, people that is already rich are the people who always spend their money wisely , and there are also people that is in the middle status that can also afford to buy expensive things, it is really impossible to live without money but it always possible to work hard and get the money we need to buy things we need.

The economy doesn't work the way you are thinking it. A right thinking man that has children at homebto feed will do anything to buy food for his children and will buy it no matter how expensive it's it because child must be fed as they understand nothing about economy. If that same person get paid, he might have also have a child that is sick on the hospital bed which he must also provide for, this is how demands are created and as long demand are there, people will see that as an opportunity to supply to make money. If you don't provide, others are there to do it and if you don't buy, people that need it will buy it creating a natural demand and supply own it own and you don't have the choice but to buy because you are not going to wait forever until the price has dropped as you expected. It's the same way price do drop due to demand and supply but saying people should not buy until the price is reduce can never work, not when there is demand.

Everyone is required to work in order to meet their living needs and there are many types of jobs where we can choose the one that suits our skills. Although sometimes the job we like can't be achieved and instead we work in a place that we didn't like before. What is the background to us having to work, one of which is to fulfill the responsibility of life both when we are still single or already have a family. A responsible man will support his family and never complain about any job they do.

If you are born into a wealthy family it may be much easier but there is no guarantee that it will last long. Just look at some rich people's children and they are used to living with ease and when their parents go bankrupt their lives will be much more difficult because they are not used to being responsible for themselves and are too spoiled by their previous parents.

Everybody want his wife should be so pretty and everybody want to own luxury cars because Cars show personality of person.  Everyone is rich if he saves the money for future disaster and everyone can be rich by getting knowledge of fiance. I concur to that as well because it's overwhelming seeing how prices of things go up and people still tend to purchase them,on a norms an average man would say, looking at the country's increase rates of goods and services will be like I can't afford things any longer but there is a way out for him to get his daily needs which leave us all to believe that everyone is definitely rich. Honestly in my country,the from the past months the price of goods were on a good rate for even the poor man to purchase things but the sudden rise was unbelievable cause now it's difficult for the poor to afford a two square meals having a large family which leave me in another thought to say not everyone is Rich,the poor man is definitely finding it difficult to afford the best for himself and his family.

So my conclusion on this is that out of 100% of persons the percentage that can't afford the least for himself and family this trying times of high prices of things is 20% and the rest can afford it which make 80% person's rich from my point of view.

There are money generations supposed to be speculated in various sectors by which people could work to earn it but it is not flowing accordingly because the government does not want to liberate the people from instability to stability.

There are actually poor people every where in the world which getting and accumulating of wealths is no more an agenda but are more concerned to live healthily and that is only possible to be actualized if the people can be able to afford good foods and good medical cares at when needed but these essential commodities has become too expensive for some average people that o afford talk more of the poor.

Currently the price of commodities are highly increasing without increases in qualities and based on how essential they are needed for human consumption, even the poor has no choice than trying all necessary means to afford them just to keep the live going but that does not literally mean that they are rich perhaps the poor actually goes for what they can afford on to economy management and they are deprived to live their suitable lives because they can not afford it so, not everyone are rich but ye the governments has expected that everyone should be endivoired to afford the hike of living even when the economy is not being favourable to the poor.

When you grow up, no one is responsible for yourself to change your life in finding money, regardless of the easy or difficult process, but we do have a responsibility to be able to become rich with the hard work we do.

And to fulfill all desires, humans will never end, there will always be something that he pursues to spur himself in finding a greater income, but there is a point where he must be able to exceed that in order to avoid the poverty line and to find more than that I think is something that is carried over because of the process he has gone through.

Now everyone has to work if they want to earn an income and it is not seen from where we come from and from what family we were born into this world. Because those who do not work will always find it difficult to meet their own needs and goals in life, although some people who are born into rich families can immediately feel the pleasure in life, but that will not be long enough unless all their parents' inheritance is given to them. SOME people can afford, not all. That is a very clear distinction between the two. Inflation has only become affordable for the rich. Not really. If someone's salary all goes to buy the basic necessities and nothing is left for other pleasures in life then I would not consider that rich. People are buying and paying still despite the high prices because they have no choice. There is no other way to survive. Besides there are loans that could be accessed by people hence how they can live in certain locations.

Humans will never be satisfied with what they have achieved because they are influenced by the desire to be greater than what they have. It is not wrong to say wealth and it is human nature to want to live with the expected ease. The human population is indeed more poor in most countries but sitting around and doing nothing is the wrong thing. Fear will only slow someone down to get up to start and most people who do not dare to get out of their comfort zone will make it difficult for them to develop. When I read your thread title and opening sentence, I wonder if it is you that has this the wrong way around - maybe you aren't earning much at all or are below the average wage in your country, causing you to project this fear against the world. Then again your mumbling is pretty incoherent with very weak logic, so I would be surprised if you were even in the workforce yet and are hopefully still making your way through the education system. What is the point you are trying to make, that you think everyone is rich in comparison to you? Because the world is similar to how it has been for many decades, even centuries, where the wealthy are a relatively small percentage of the population.

Now as peoples are getting information about all things and also having better understanding of life they are not running for the branded things because they are feeling doing this is just waste of money even they can live with better things which are affordable and also having same worth and value but are not coming from big brands they are doing this without any problem because this is giving them double profit comfortable and saving of money as this is not possible if you are going with big brands.

Struggle is part of life because this is not only for peoples those are having problems many times we have struggle for those have better life and conditions, but they are also needed to stay in lifeline which give them no financial difficulties as they are having enough things, and they never like to stay calm because they love to do things.

There is always no exact number when mentioning rich people because if you or anyone has wealth then there are others who have more of everything. This is a form of an uncertain number because a person's wealth can vary and there is always no exact amount. I understand one thing related to wealth and how we can see wealth as a form of devotion to ourselves or to meet the needs of the family. When our lives are stable and able to meet the needs of life, children's school fees, health costs and travel costs to spend time with family is true wealth.

The most important thing is that the wealth we have is not involved in unproductive debt and we can make money stably, that's more than enough for me personally. Understanding wealth does not have to be seen from how much money and assets we have because sometimes that does not guarantee happiness so what's the point of being rich if our lives are filled with discomfort.

Not buying branded goods does not mean that the person is not rich, they just want to save money on things that are not really needed. Some people who are in the middle class prefer to manage their finances well, they will try to spend less money than their income. To become rich, you don't need to reveal to everyone the amount of wealth you have or buy branded goods. Without telling other people the list of your wealth, it will not lower your status. Everyone will continue to struggle in their own way, they will do anything to increase their wealth, when you are able to buy branded goods or luxury cars, you already have enough money and it will not cause you financial difficulties afterwards.

The idea is that if everything is a lot more expensive now, then people should be richer to be able to afford them. But that idea starts with notion that we are capable of affording everything we want to afford, which is not the case at all in most times. I personally believe that we are going to crash a lot harder in the near future, and things will get much worse, but we are not capable of seeing that for the time being.

Many people are looking at the current system and they think that it will be fine and it is not "that" bad yet, but the graphic shows that trajectory is getting worse and worse. Unfortunately that's the case and we are going towards a period in human history where shelter will become luxury, and rich will say "not everyone has to live in a house, some can live outside, it is very fun to do!" and unfortunately there will be some fooled idiots who think they are right.

Am surprised to see this, but did you know that not everyone can afford anything? And some try as hard as they can just to provide food for themselves and their families? I think you don’t know that or you just reside in a location where almost everyone is in the average class; if not, you won’t say this. Saying that if things get expensive, no one should buy so that it will reduce in price will never happen because people's finances are not the same and you can’t have the use of something and have the money to purchase it, then just feel like if you did buy it, it will reduce in price. This logic will just make you suffer, not the seller, because you are the one that needs it, not the seller.

Prices are high and having things out of the reach from the common peoples this all is surely happening around the world but sadly in developing countries things are getting the worst day by day because here we are having system which is not helping common peoples, and they are suffering badly due to them in recent time we have serious troubles in many countries and things are going from bad to worse just because of bad management.

I am not agreed with OP about few things but still now we are having prices at their highest level with few governments are trying their best for having possible changes but it's never been easy for them because this can create huge problems for them as well as few are having mindset all is rich it's surely not happening it is just because of this we are now having huge difference between few classes with few countries are badly down due to their own policies and common peoples are having troubling life.

What the heck are you talking about? I think you are seeing it the wrong way. The prices are high because a lot of people are doing it, and it is also affecting everything. Not only are people greedy, but they want more of everything, so that’s just why there are increasing prices for everything.

Inflation is also part of knowing that your money's power is not as strong as before in terms of the economic aspect of supply and demand. This doesn’t indicate everyone is rich just because the price is high. Look at the poverty line.

The price of goods and services that have increased will not return to their original price so that people do not need to expect a decrease in the price of goods that they often consume and also on services that they often use in their lives. Because inflation that continues to occur without stopping is the real impact that has triggered the value of the currency to fall and the price of goods to increase in society. So that everyone at this time also looks difficult to prevent it even though smart people continue to make important investments for their own future in order to be able to fight inflation at some point in the future.

In my country the cost of foodstuffs keep topping price each day which has made many people who can't afford it to revert to other unappealing alternatives, for example, for those  who can't afford some fresh tomatoes for stew have now turned on using garden-eggs to prepare their stew, I can go on and on... Like people are going innovative with different means to survive and when I see or hear about it I can't help but weep inside.

Even under the category of the younger generations same conditions applies as not them all have the means to love a luxurious stupendous lifestyle. But however, there are those that are rich among the young generations that still spend wisely on things needed than those for luxury.

Are you sure rich people don't like to brag? I do not agree with this statement. Have you seen any rich people living in poor slums? Or do they live in expensive mansions with servants? Have you seen any rich people eating street food? Or do they eat at a 5-star restaurant? They travel to expensive resorts, go on yachts, drive super cars, wear limited edition clothes...they are showing off but they are showing off but in a way that they enjoy.

Our world is full of colors and we need to interact with them to know and understand them clearly and not equate them with each other. Rich people also have bad people and good people. Similarly, poor people are also good and humble people, not everyone is bad or likes to brag.

Overtime, people have learnt how to cut cost in other to manage themselves and the ever increasing inflation with little or no sign of getting better. We have a saying in Spain, I don't know if it is international, and could be translated as: "Tell me what you boast about and I'll tell you what you lack".

This also happens in my environment. Actually being able to buy luxury goods does not mean he is rich. Many people buy luxury goods just to follow the trend and are called successful people when in fact they buy them with debt. Rich people actually do not like to show off their wealth, they prefer to live simply, those who like to show off their wealth are those in the lower middle class. So to see someone rich and poor actually should not be seen from what items he uses or see his appearance.

I think commodities are like an asset. They are not really the necessities in life and budget people do not usually add them on their spending/expense list. Not only commodities but almost all things in this world have indeed increased in value and that is due to inflation. We don't control this or the prices rather, so them rising, doesn't mean that everybody is now rich.

We are still thankful though that governments and us can sometimes find a way to at least lessen the burden that we feel on this issue. This is the reason why we still can afford the basic necessities in life. Inflation can be a product of too much printing of money but some individuals can see this as a positive thing and they will think that a country who does this are rich. This is sad.

You can not say that people are very rich just because the prices of things are high and they are still purchasing it, they are just trying their best and find a way to survive, a lot of people now can't not afford everything they need, because of the current situation we are living in now, but still they work very hard to put food on the table, no matter how cost a price of a commodity is, you can ignore some that are not important to you, but can you ignore food? you don't want to spend the little money you have to feed because things are cost, remember that you can't eat money.

What OP  is saying now is beyond my imagination, people are suffering now honestly, alot of people are dieing because of hunger, and inflation is effecting our economy day by day, some people have a lot of responsibilities on their head like paying rent, fees, clothing and feeding, you can see that this things are important that you have to provide no matter the circumstances.

There's nothing surprising here thou. Price of things keep going up on a daily basis but people still afford to buy them but that doesn't mean everybody is rich as Op was trying to portray in his post. The truth is that no matter how expensive things are, some few individuals can afford it and no matter how cheap it is some other few people can still not afford it. The world is such in balance!

The reality is only few categories of people can afford these expensive things comfortably. By observation, one would discovered that in a group of ten only two to three can afford or live expensive lifestyle while the remaining eight or seven manage to live average lifestyle. I will also agree with Op that the world is rich but not everybody is rich.

Idk, ever heard of debts? lol. Most people you see that are able to buy cars, houses, etc probably bought them under a loan or something, which is usually what most people do. The difference is with the higher costs of literally everything else, this would mean paying it back would take a LOT longer. It's probably the same thing for other types, just a difference in scale depending on their own monthly income as well.

And that's for people who're around the middle level in terms of income. Imagine the difficulties of low-income people, and even more so about people living in poverty. You probably should try living in a third world country then try to say that the world is rich again. You'd probably call bs on your own words right there and then.
 

Indeed, prices are always going up and in my country also the prices of food items, house rental costs, transportation costs and so on always continue to rise, but yes, it looks really funny, because even though the prices continue to rise, many people still buy them. 

Moreover, if you look at vehicles, of course more and more people are buying new vehicles and sometimes I personally always think is everyone rich now? The high prices for sure don't dictates if the world is rich or everybody is rich, Inflation on the other hand measures how quickly the prices of goods and services are rising and those with tangible assets, like property or stocked commodities, may likely to see some inflation as that raises the value of their assets. However, the demand for goods and services signifies the consumer's need, willingness, labour, ang also the ability to buy a certain product or particular needs. Supply then refers to the production capacity of distributor and also manufacturers, may I add entrepreneurs for contributing a major cause in economic system.

The world is always rich if were about to talk to natural resources and such, but not everyone is rich. If you look closer to remote areas or countries with bad governance, corrupts countries to be on point. Those who's residing in a country like that most likely to state that they don't have money, plus before the new normal, global poverty reduction project was dealt a severe blow by the COVID-19 pandemic as all countries focus on the pandemic, causing three years of lost progress. Climate change is also hindering poverty reduction and a major threat to lives and livelihood of most vulnerable to climate-related risk

While life is very random some have the advantage for the new normal but there are some that dont.

I think we can't do anything as to how the increase of prices are surging high these days, either we buy it and continue to live or won't be buying at all and see yourself starve to death. We are left no choice but to buy them regardless of the price.

However, we can chose to live a simple life over a luxurious one. Yes, we all have money and if we are good in managing our finances, and prioritize only our needs over our wants, I think we won't hear anymore complaining that they have run out of money and it sucks them seeing the prices continue to increase.

Don't be too naive because even though we have money we will not be considered rich when faced with people who are indeed in terms of status and wealth far more than us.

Having money alone is not enough to be called someone rich because in the end it is not just about money but about how each person views it and how we utilize the potential of the money we have.
It is undeniable that money will be one of the benchmarks to be said to be someone rich but we must also remember that in the end the standard of being rich must also be seen from several other aspects as I said because having money without being able to maximize the power of money will actually make us considered stupid and exploited so that in this case being rich is also not as easy as thought especially in this case the recognition of many people about the concept of being rich is also different so don't interpret that being rich is only because we have money because even though that is true but other supporting factors are always taken into account to be said to be someone rich.

Everyone has their own market when we talk about needs, it also adjusts in the end considering that we live where even though our nature is the same as humans, we are distinguished by economic strata or in rough language, caste where we are in the low range, mid range and high range. It cannot be denied and it is not wrong to say that not everyone gets the same thing and thinks they don't have money because when we are in the low range we definitely expect to be in the mid range and when we are in the mid range we definitely want to be in the high class because everyone has that kind of thinking.

Thats true. People affording things with high price doesn't not mean they just feel like to spend money but the truth is thst their is no other option neither to just spend money because these are things that you can't do without. The price of things are increasing steadily and people don't have to fold their hands not to buy the basic thing they want. Their is no time inflation has stopped people not to spend money on thongs they want just because the price is expensive. Same here, I partially agree with OP, if everything was too expensive and unaffordable, people would rebel, take to the streets, and show their dissatisfaction. But that is not happening, the shops are full, and the streets are full of cars even though fuel is more expensive than ever. Rents are also breaking records, and despite all that, people are going on vacations and spending more money than ever on overpriced hotels and restaurants.

I don't see prices going down, people are already used to all the price increases (or so it seems), and I expect prices to jump again at some point rather than fall. And is there an end to the rise in prices? Maybe if a lot of people rebel, but that will hardly happen either...

High prices don't necessarily show that people are rich. Sometimes high-income countries do have high prices, but those prices are high for visitors, whereas compared to average salaries in those countries, the prices are actually good. However, sometimes a low-income country can have high prices, even though people don't have sufficient purchasing power to justify those prices. It can be a result of an inflation spike and the salaries not getting adjusted to it, or because of some sort of crisis leading to supply chain issues. If enough people can purchase something because they truly need it (even if the cost is very high for them), the prices can remain at that level, unless regulations are imposed or measures are introduced to adjust salaries.

Having money we can order others easily but when we don't have money any advice we give will never be listened to by others. This phenomenon occurs in villages and rich people will always be advisors for problems even though sometimes they are not much better than people who don't have money. Regarding buying expensive and luxurious goods, it really depends on each individual who has money and sometimes they don't buy because they think it will be wasteful so that the money they have is not productive. The level of efficiency depends on opportunities and why rich people can double their money because they understand how. For example, you buy an antique motorbike and if its value increases it will be a fairly promising asset because the product is rare on the market. Living in this world requires clever management, especially regarding the level of productivity to make money.

Wealth is not equally distributed in the society, and as there are persons who can afford the expensive things these days, there are others to whom their standard of living is massively reducing. There is the rich, the middle class and the poor. The rich are able to keep up with the increasing price of things, although they are still threatened by the worsening economy. The middle class are the majority of people who you see mostly, and they are struggling to really afford all these bills that are becoming more expensive, and they are collecting loans to meet up. They are being affected by the harsh economy. The poor have already been affected.

If the prices of things continue to increase, and the economy continue to toughen up, the number of persons who will be able to afford expensive things will be reducing.

Commodity prices have increased many times compared to many years ago and the fact that people can still afford to buy does not mean they are very rich but simply because people are trying to survive. Furthermore, you also need to take into account inflation as well as the amount of money the government prints every day and you will see that people are not rich. Commodities increase in price and people spend large sums of money to buy them, not because everybody is becoming rich but because money is losing value.

I don’t think everybody is rich at all, quite the opposite in fact. I think inflation has run wild, the cost of things has risen dramatically & we are witnessing an unprecedented cost of living crisis. Personal debt levels are higher than ever, people are struggling just to do the basics.

I am not fully convinced here, still.. yes, there are rich people in the world, but the whole world is not rich, and the reason why things are expensive and keep getting expensive is that those selling those things know there will be someone who will pay the price they are asking for, so they don't need to lower it for someone who cannot afford it. That doesn't mean all are rich and this is why things are so expensive.

It's not normal to be wealthy, however, I do agree that you can't live a quality life in today's world if you don't have enough money. This is the reason why everyone is striving to earn more money over time because they know the demands of the time and that everything needs money these days. If you have a look around the world, there are places where people don't get to eat a full meal twice a day, I don't think we can call the world rich while having these things around.

Just because some people can afford expensive things doesn't mean everyone is rich, those luxurious or branded items usually target middle class to high class, the lower class settle with something that's less expensive.

maybe you are seeing in developed countries everyone is wearing adidas and nike sneakers but try to look into poorer country only very few people actually afford that and usually it's the shoes coming from small business which are significantly cheaper than the branded ones that got huge market share.

so your statement is not true, the entire thing about creating perception based on the price of goods are flawed anyway, you want to determine wealth you look at GDP per capita, PPP and minimum wages.

I also disagree with the concept of thinking, so see wealth from what they can buy, when not necessarily the financial situation is very good, someone's wealth can not be seen from simple calculations like that.

To be honest, there is no relationship between price increases on goods or services or whatever it is about wealth, someone insists on buying it because he needs it does not mean he is rich and can buy anything with his money, in fact the more the price of goods rises the economic turnover decreases which will make a person much more suffer because his finances are easily depleted due to rising prices of goods.

I think what is happening is that everybody knows inflation is on the rise and there's nothing anybody can do about it but just to keep buying the over expensive items. The cost of producing this items are increasing and inflation isn't helping matters. If you don't buy them, you can't survive or you have to look for alternative and they aren't always nice so people don't have choices but to buy. I don't believe we are all rich but we are becoming poorer, there are many peoples that can't afford those food items anymore and just a few percentages are able to live healthy by affording the overpriced items.


People are working multiple jobs just to be able to afford the normal necessity that we need to survive. Before, the working of multiple jobs was to have enough sources of income to increase our savings but the tables are turned. I don't see anybody without atleast two jobs anymore, everybody is working extra and there's no time for socializing anymore. The world is becoming a horrible place to live and people are doing all sought of illegal things just to survive. People just don't have much options and it is not like they are happy paying the high price for items that were less expensive before.

OP should visit some of the poorest countries to understand that every body isn't rich, I know he's referring to middle-class people as rich but he doesn't know exactly about the poverty line.

The thing is that just because rich people are able to afford something, that does not mean everybody can afford it. The poor will still complain that there is no money, so that is not a big deal. The best thing is that when you see someone buy something, you should also hustle hard and get that thing if it is going to be useful for you. However, just because people are buying something at a high price doesn't mean everybody can afford it. Somethings are what we need to get in our daily lives, so regardless of the price, we must get that thing.



shame?  why?  It's normal if people complain about money because they don't have it. If someone is able to buy something, that doesn't mean that person is rich, but you see those expensive things. Sometimes we need them in our lives. There are things that if we do have them, life won't go as smoothly as we want, so we just have to buy them. 

The fact that everything is expensive doesn't mean that people have money, it just means that more people are suffering. Things are expensive also doesn't mean the common man won't find a way to survive. When things are expensive it means there is inflation and when there is inflation it means the money in people's pockets can't afford the things it used to.
For example, young people of today are making more money than their parents made at their age, but they can't use that money to do half the things their parents can do at that age. Things are very difficult for people. People now have to work more jobs in other to be able to afford basic things like rent and food, it wasn't like that before.

Nobody really don't have any money, except very lazy minded people, it's just that people have learned to live within their means in order to make ends meet.

It's not a shame to admit your broke and ask for help, where the real problem lies is what you're asking help for. I feel asking for help to feed yourself it's mostly overlooked by people, but doing the same to finance a very productive project with a well detailed action plan would really attract investors.

People have money, but they want to spend it on something productive and profitable, not throwing it around unnecessarily or prioritizing wants over needs, times are hard and everyone have learned to be good economists.

That term new normal, I had almost forgotten that and always heard it from the news. But that's a fact with this new normal, things have been expensive and no longer cheap. If they are still cheap, I guess it's from those countries that are self-sustaining and don't need the world for specific products that they own and manufacture. I don't think that we'll ever go back to the pre-pandemic prices of the goods that we have. It's always about the supply and demand and that's how the prices have gone up. Maybe, there's a slight chance that we'd see things to be cheap again when the demand becomes lower, it varies from each surviving individual.

You are speaking based on your own experience. In my country people are starving because they cannot afford food. The high cost of goods has made people's earnings worthless, and they are finding it difficult to survive. Only the rich in the society can afford the luxury they desire. Some of them are politicians, business executives, or high-ranking staff in multinationals. But for the average salary earner life has become very tough. These days, it is common to see people doing odd jobs, relocating to rural areas, or doing petty business just to ensure that they survive. Your assumption that the world is rich is faulty because even those people you think are still buying expensive items might be in deep debt. So when people tell you they don't have money, believe them because they are not lying.

But I dont agree with what the OP has to say, being rich or poor you have to set a standard to compare and being able to buy something expensive is the yardstick for measuring someone's riches at all times.

House rent might have gone up, you have to deal with it. Landlords have to cope up with the post-COVID situation and inflation. Things will get better but one should continue working for a better living. It is not like they all have any choice.

If you are a practical person that you value too much your money and spend all of those in the things you just barely needed you don't need to worry with this but today there's a lot of people keep buying expensive things because they don't want to call as poor or cant afford those luxuries things and also they just want to flex that matter but in the long term its just a liabilities some of their items bought they cant use at all or just a one time use and can be a waste of money. I came from a poor country every money drops is valuable so I wont spend those much money just to look rich.

You're just being sarcastic in your whole narration, the world is divided financially and will remain like that forever. There exist the rich, the average and the poor, although it could be further divided to make it reflect the true living standard of people, notwithstanding, this is the division that could be basic for understanding it. Many people can not afford a single quality meal in a day and you are saying the world is rich? While some people can conveniently feed 5,000 people daily, how even is that?

This shows the high level of financial imbalance in the world and more reason why the rich are becoming richer and the poor people are becoming poorer. Many factors contribute to this which could be the country, the environment within the country, inheritance, natural talent and creativity among other factors.

You can see that we are not equally blessed both by nature and by the family/clime we found ourselves, and so is our affordability of needs and wants (living standard).

I agree with the OP to some extent, as I have witnessed too how prices for everything keep rising in my country, and people keep buying the same things no matter the price. I'm very critical in this matter and stopped buying some things, or buy less, but although people complaints, many haven't changed their lifestyle. Specially the younger generations: they prefer to keep their debt alive forever but own a good car, spend in expensive holidays,  consume brands, etc.

Just don't buy those things not important to you especially those luxurious things since those material things is just for flexing. Maybe more better for people to focus on things that they need since for sure they will never get broke if they set aside their vices and prioritize those important things that can help them to live a more comfortable life.

Its not about price possession of expensive things but rather on how you can survive. Crisis is happening so people should prepare for that situation since its hard to regret on everything wrong they have done if they are already facing bankruptcy or broke already.

Also in reality don't complain about those expensive prices if you don't need it, leave it. But if this one inspires you then do better job and earn more money.

They do have money, they don't want to wasting their money to buy branded stuffs. Remember, most people are middle class, they're either live from paycheck to paycheck or have some amount to save/invest.
