For those of you asking:
This restaurant priced the bill in US dollars on the receipt, but it was priced in mBTC on the MyCelium app.

LOL at paying a full 2 BTC for a Pepsi.
Unless it had some gold ice cubes  Grin

I do indeed live in Las Vegas. This place is actually half restaurant half full service bar.
You can use bitcoins for payment for both food and alcohol.

They use an iPad with MyCelium for transactions.
The server was fairly shaky with the whole process since not too many people come in everyday paying with BTC.

I helped the server out with the process, since i have talked with several small business owners here in Vegas regarding implementing BTC as a payment form....

A few things i would like to point out:
My bill was actually around $65, but when i told her i would like to pay with Bitcoins, she came back with another bill which was discounted.

Another thing is that while helping the server with this transaction, i noticed they had several BTC in their wallet.
The server said that they get around 5 or 6 people a month in the restaurant and a few more in the bar paying with coins.

Im glad to see a few people coming into this thread and expressing interest in helping spread the word.
Through shared information will we change the way we all buy and sell.

Cool. My interest led me to search about the restaurant and I managed to find their website. Thought they should have listed "bitcoin accepted here" on the main page but never mind. Just wondering did the payment part went out ok?

Too bad, most people in my country don't know what is bitcoin Sad
And in my country, our central bank already warned not to use bitcoin as currency

So, i just use my bitcoin to buy mobile charge, video games & steam wallet only Sad

At this point a very tiny percentage of people know what Bitcoin is and even a smaller percentage uses or have/had Bitcoins.

There is soo much potential, you could educate people by setting up meetings in your country, etc.

Ignorance is an important reason for Banks and merchants not willing to work with Bitcoin.

1 Pepsi 2 BTC? Shocked

I guess it's priced in dollars. There's no bitcoin amount shown in the ticket.

It's written
Bitcoin:   (59.55) that's for sure in USD for those cheap things . I guess they should add the price in Bitcoins instead of USD .
with price changing every minute and everyday you have to setup the register every minute!

Great idea. I wish I got paid in Bitcoin so I could spend some of mine. As of right now I cant take the risk of spending Bitcoin in everyday common stuff, if I had more I wouldn't mind but im trying to have a decent amount first.

I thought it might be cool to start a thread where forum members can show everyday uses of bitcoin transactions.
You can also show other members in your area, retailers who accept BTC as a form of currency.

I personally want to give my business to the companies who are pro crypto, so what better way to show support than a thread of this nature.
Here is a pic of a recent transaction i made to start things off.

I hope this thread grows organically and showcases many businesses who accept this truly AMAZING form of payment.
