I remember when I wanted to invest 2k€ into bitcoins when price was 400€.. people held me back, saying "noo you will lose it all"... I regret listening to people.

In investing or in any major decision you do in life, you don't listen to people.

@ontopic When do you guys think we'd end this celebration days?

these days are a part of history in the making and since everything is slowed down and everyone is quiet i think everybody is also waiting to see what happens and when changes are going to start happening.

Well I trust bitcoin now. I add some to my stash day to day accumulating it hoping it would have a very big value many years from now. At first I doubt bitcoin but now I fully trust that it will meet my expectations.

I am doing the same. I am trying my best to collect the bitcoin. I hope I can get 10 bitcoin in 10 year's time.

I like the positivity of the OP. Yes the price is going down and yes bitcoin is worth way more then the price is showing us the charts. But remember Rome was not built in 1 day.
The process of bitcoin from becoming an idea, to a name, to a currency to the most innovating thing we have seen the last 100 years is a slow but steady process.

Everyday that I can still buy Bitcoin at 3 figures a BTC is a celebration day for me, and anyone with a functional brain that is going long term in Bitcoin. We are able to keep buying at least 1 BTC monthly and keep stacking on the most important asset/commodity/whatever you want to call it, of all times. I pity the short sighted morons that are still wondering if they should buy or not, or even worse, they still think it's "some sort of scam".
Being a pioneer never felt better.

i also have the same feeling about bitcoin and the price. the price of bitcoin should in fact be a lot bigger than $600-$1000 and so on.
these prices are just too cheap for bitcoin when you compare it to other things with the same market size and supply.

the thing is that china is currently over $500 now and other exchanges are quite behind. if chinese exchanges stay above $500 then other exchanges will come around $10 to maybe $15 closer to china as they are more than $20 behind at the moment. if china falls back to let's say $480 then other exchanges will dip down another $10 to $20. i am already happy if we can see the price stay above $450.

The $500 price is a history now. The price of the bitcoin is around $576 at the moment. It shall rise again in the next few months.

You have to take a long term view of the price. The price of bitcoin has not risen for about 6 months already.

That is right. When the price starts to rise, it will rise very high. I think the next all time high in 12 months.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Bitcoins will 100% for sure be around in 10 years from now. The only uncertainty will be what they're worth. It could be 5k each or 5k for a dollar but the way the code is written they'll still be floating around assuming that few nodes are running and a few miners keep going.

5k for a dollar would mean that something went completely wrong and can be considered as a failure!
I'm hoping for the completely opposite!Bitcoin known by almost everyone and used by hundreds of million to billions of people, if they will know it or not doesn't matter.
Only one thing is for sure: That crypto currencies can not be stopped.The genie is out of the bottle.And if it shouldn't be Bitcoin, it will be another crypto coin who makes it to the masses.

that is the hard part about trading this way. you have to make a very hard decision at that point about whether or not wait for the price to come down or buy and wait for the price to higher. and that is not something that anybody can give a general answer to, it differs in different situations.

If you are just talking about the short term price, then I have to say it's not low and not too high. It's basically a 50/50 case. But when it comes to the long term investors, then I say the current price is in fact low and thus a good moment to enter the market.

nicely put, i totally agree. although my personal celebration day was a while back when the price was stable at $220 and i could buy twice the current amount and add it to my cold storage.
but i am still happy because of the 2x rise so far and the good future that seems to be getting near.

We will never see the btc price go To Da Moon ever again. Unless China gets involved in a big way, like it did in late 2013. However, the Chinese became too wise to the manipulations of the bitcoin price by the whales and early adopters. We will never see $1000 bitcoins.

Thank you for your pity, sir. I am of the opinion that the halvening is priced in--I'm not exactly a staunch believer in efficient markets, but I do believe in them somewhat. I don't think you can make money with that kind of certainty anywhere, and that's basically what you're saying is going to happen if you believe bitcoin is going to skyrocket after the halving. But we'll see, eh? I'll be in my lawn chair with my sunglasses and a nice cool frosty beverage just watching the action. Or lack thereof.

I can understand the doubts, but i[m pretty sure people said the same about credit cards at first, or paper money. Or even gold (when they used barter).

Any change meets resistance, from outside (other people) as well as from inside (emotionally). Only when people start to realize that the change isn't scary, and in face beneficial and makes sense, then will the adoption come.

I think it's highly unlikely bitcoin will die at this point, it has survived so much already I don't know what can kill it at this point.

I hear ya, OP. I have a certain amount of my monthly income budgeted for purchasing bitcoin as well. I don't mind that the price isn't "exploding" just yet, as it gives me more time to pick up more bitcoins at a relatively cheap price and add to my stacks.

1 BTC a month? That is more than a month's salary in developing countries.
Slow and steady is my motto too, but at much lower levels.
