I don't think so, the bitcoin ecosystem need his shitcoins to regulate the market. because if there's only eth, etc, ltc, nem dash, xmr < it will be this coins considered as shitcoins, and the bitcoins is hired up by the pump and dump of the shitcoin, the benefice in shitcoins are reinvested in btc and that's why he pump to 5k( with the growing demand, more media are looking at the btc...) Some alt will die and some will reach the moon in 2018 i think there will be a kind of natural selection between scam and real innovating and usefull coins.
that's my opinion.

Definetly a dilution of the current market, still it's a growing market, hopefully people choose their "shitcoins" carefully, there's also a lot of potentially succesful projects out there don't know if current valuations and marketcaps are in line with their value, but still pontetially disrupting business in different industires

everybody wants to issue there own token for their own project. Now it´s up to the market to mature and adjust when this projects reach real use cases. Then we will see if we want to see Dex where we can swap between tokens almost instantly or if we will prefer to use a service that uses one of the strong cryptos, whatever that strong crypto is in the future.

Generalizing all ICOs as a scam is poor thinking. There are some that have a good agenda in mind and have put in work to develop their platforms. If no one believes in a startup, then where will we all be in future. You just have to do your due diligence before investing in ICOs. Apart from that, many of them are just pure scum.

I don't think lot of people invest into icos. Investing icos is hard task for most of the bitcoin investors. You need to know lot more technicak details/aspects. I think ico hype is just already dead and we are having normal (not pumped) investments.

Most ICOs are scam and they giving out shitcoins but a few of them are real gems with a company, a plan, a whitpaper and the chance to become a gamechanger in the future. If no one would give new companies a chance, there would be far less development in the scene. Image no one would have bought google stocks because there were already other search machines in the 90s, or amazon or (back in the 80s) Microsoft. They all started in a garage or small office and they are giants now. There have to be ICOs but not that much and as I said, more than 90% of them are real scam. It's our job to find the good ones.

Well as they all say, to each his own. We can't dictate what others want to buy. But we should encourage them to learn more about the coins they are buying so at least they would know the value of those coins and eventually can determine which is a shitcoin or not.

Well tbh, imo i can say every coins starts as shitcoins because as we can see there. Most of the ICOs are plainly just idea and futuristic plan.

Agreed, many investors are too focusing on gambling away their money and ignore red flags, e.g. the management gets rich no matter what happens to the underlying business due to large pre-mine or they don't consider competition from other crypto tokens in the same business or the investors simply don't care what the business does because of Fear or Missing Out (FOMO).
I feel crypto investors should invest more effort on building out the crypto ecosystem / network and grow consumer and business adoption and create legitimate use cases for crypto, not only invest in them as tokens for long shot gambling.

I also want them to buy and give some attention to WAVES, the waves price is falling down. Also remember that bitcoin is pumping and many alts have been traded with BTC for the upcoming fork. There are also good coins that are emerging which also deserves an attention and hype.

I totally agree on topic that when people invest in altcoins more money will be spread amongst shitcoins and the good coins are not gaining their true value, there are some good coins that have potential of a bright future so yes lets put money on those projects so they can opens doors to other projects, if all these icos are coming and people spend their money on them the money will be spread and the good coins will not be recognized.
I totally agree on the fact that not all altcoins are shit, there are coins that have an amazing team and community behind them, surely a good community is a good advantage for the altcoin.

Everyone's hoping for that next Ethereum-like coin that will go times how much hundreds in a span of weeks or months. Whilst the chance that this happens is slim, also I think most ICO's are immature company's who just see this as the most viable way to either get started or raise enough to never get started at all. There's little demand for actually using these coins and a big supply of ICO's selling their crap. I was thinking about going huge into ICO as opposed to the regular trading most people do but I'm already put off by the immense amounts being raised.
ICO's can be extremely profitable but most likely you will just lose money. I think people get bought into the idea of a company whilst not realizing that it takes a lot to build a succesfull company and they should expect a lot of businesses to fail.
