This is not just Ripple, it is all the market that is being affected, there are some people that are called market makers, they move the market in which direction that suit them
The market makers are no other than the big banks and since Ripple is coin they threw their weight behind, won't be any surprise to fine all those manipulations akin with fiat money playing out especially with Ripple.

another thing that is likely going to affect most of these Altcoins especial tokens on Ethereum is that there is no metrics to back up their prices
I see your point. All the tokens hinged on the Ethereum network can be seen to liken Ethereum to the European Union - a handful of strong states amidst many not too strong states and that can be a drag to those stronger states.

Bitcoin is being back up by the amount of energy one need to mine a coin but not for most of these projects
Not literally, but nevertheless it's a good bargain for Bitcoin.

The whole market bled money. Except for one coin.
The big players pulled out and as the FUDDERS sold their coin they quietly bought up ripple. Then let is sit and let the drop price further. Then bought up some more.

They are finished now. The market is gaining value. They have their ripple, and the price is sitting nice.

Something big is about to happen to XRP in 2018.

You just witnessed the start of the big move from 1st gen to 2nd gen crypto.
You make this comment in December but you can see were all things are today.  Bitcoin has not been performing very well this year and this has affected all the coins including xrp.  I ripple is the most hit coins in 2018 and it is still going down further.  However I will be happy if all things recover.

In principle, nothing has changed, the price of the ripple does not depend on the corrections, it is fully adjustable and remediable. So on such indicators it is not necessary to pay attention.

The crypto market is unstable and the movements on it are also very difficult to predict. Therefore, to be surprised by the sharp rise of a certain coin and the decline of another is still not worth it.
All those who are there in this crypto market since some time must be very aware of the volatile nature of the crypto currencies and that they are not much worried because of the fluctuating market value of the crypto coins now as they exactly what to do at such times. This is just a game of experience which makes you learn each and everything. You need to give things time so that you may know exactly what to do.

This coin as a tron, when all the coins fell that growth was observed and not small. The ripple also has a dependence on the developers and it does not give a lot of money to the coin or it will rise, I do not understand why people still believe in it and I think those who already sold it rightly think.

I'm not totally against ripple. Some holders just keep on promoting it and giving it too much noise so they could benefit more from it. As we know banks hold much of the ripple. That can no longer be controlled by traders only. You may keep some ripple but I'm not putting all my investment into it. Gained from trading before and was there when it crashed. Just be wise maybe. Ride its pump and exit on profit.

It's nice to think that someone knows more than us when it comes to a certain crypto and is now here spreading advice and predictions that will make us rich. But you have to consider every post on this site is inspired by someone trying to make money on something.

You really have to ask yourself, does this person that you know nothing about have anything to gain by coming here and giving you investment advice, other than their own personal gain? How can he be so sure that a certain crypto will succeed? He doesn't. If he did, he'd have no reason to share the information on this board.

Interesting title that certainly grabbed my attention. And interesting observation. I’ve watched XRP drop from 0.90 to 0.70 the last month and wondered if it was out of favour, but maybe the big boys have been stocking up at depressed prices for another tilt at the No 2 spot which would be ~3x today’s value?! I’m going to have a closer look at this thanks. And my coin that’s kept my portfolio in the Black the last month with a 150% gain is NPXS - a great little coin with a 7% monthly Airdrop atm. Might transfer some of those profits to XRP, as well as BTC of course that I can’t see being overtaken in 1st place anytime soon!

A laudable attempt at gaining attention, but in the end Ripple is still nothing compared to Bitcoin or Ethereum.

There simply has been too much drama behind Ripple and they have lost investor trust and confidence. You're just really blowing off farts like every other newbie account here shillinng the future of every other shitcoin. If you ever had any valuable insider information i'm confident Ripple's value would have already increased. Tellingly, it's still in the dumps at 8k sats.

Bitcoin cannot achieve the status of a universal currency and its transfer times and fees are not acceptable for it to act as electronic gold. Not now, not in 100 years time, for reasons described elsewhere and by numerous people.

The market will correct itself. The 2nd gen tech is now maturing and ready to take over. The crypto market is here to stay. The $bn's invested are going nowhere. All that changes is where those $bn's go, and it wont be in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is just a concept coin, but its value is not a single virtual currency, but more a belief.

So where is this big thing about Ripples. I still see low price without any good aspects to change it. Better, i think now ripples are good only for little investments because price will probably stay on this low level

Heh, all these posters full of confidence, all these people, loving their centralized coins,,, all these non users and holders waiting to be dumpers,,, all these so called cryptocurrency enthusiasts who think they are the only smart ones sitting on knowledge that mainstream newbies will never have.

They disappear when they realize they are not a single bit smarter than the rest of us. Ripple is still struggling at 50% of it's ATH. And there is still all those XRP waiting to be unlocked.
But they were right for oh about one month, that should count for something shouldn't it? Roll Eyes Funny how people are quick to tell you when they are right but keep quiet when they are wrong. I don't see a lot of XRP, XVG, TRX, and other shitcoin supporters at the moment. Oh yeah they are waiting for that bull run to come out of the woodwork to tell us how stupid we are  Cheesy.

Apparently this rise repeat pump, dump of Bitcoin has happened about 5 other times this year although not as large as this one. it was actually predicted 2 days before by a crypto guru on YouTube...that's how obvious it was it was coming.
Another expected in a couple of months...don't panic, just hold and try and ride the mess of the dip and return.

I guess that's why nobody got too worked up about it all? If you sold at the bottom then you messed up.

Ps: and yes there is a big reason why ripple XPR was the oinly token to not go red. One is that it had increased so much the day before and the other is concerns 'why it had increased so much the day before the dip'

this has happen before and it will keep happening everytime
you need to make sure that you are ready, there is no place on weak hands
if your holding like thousands of tokens/coins and panic men you are in big trouble,
lots of people loose tons of cash during this times where in they thought this is the end
and sell what they are holding for years ,

you got two things wrong.
first of all, XRP was not the only coin that was green in the past 2 days. there have been other altcoins like it. for example Lisk was also among the coins which showed green as everything else was red and dropping.

second thing is the fact that XRP also dropped but the difference was that it was already being pumped so the drop didn't show up on it when you looked at the daily charts but if you change to a more detailed record you can see the drop and the fact that the pump of it slowed down significantly because of the all around the market dump.

Everyone knows that XRP is a centralized coin. Its rate is not market, it is controlled and regulated. The issuer has a huge number of coins on his hands.

Indeed, Ripple is the opposite of BTC. People better stay away from Ripple.

Might be right, been avoiding BTC myself a lot lately aswell cause I just can't stand the fees and confirmation times. Instead i'm keeping my money in alts more and more. I also can't stand the hardforks, still haven't claimed any of the fork coins... but I don't think the current devs really care about BTC anyway or else they would have done something and it wouldndn't be forked every fucking week.
