EVGA G2/P2/T2 series power supplies do NOT use the same pinout on the CPU connector as on the VGA connector.
You MUST use an adapter or a custom cable.
This is one reason I prefer the Seasonic X-series - they DO use the same pinout and that allows more flexability on connections - though the EVGA G2 is my "#2 go to" option.
The Peripheral slots are NOT rated for the power draw of an 8-pin PCI-E connection, or even close. They're adaquate to power *ONE* riser safely, or a 6-pin PCI-E power connection.
75 watts MAX per at least one post from an EVGA employee in their forums.
Don't worry about rails - EVGA G2/P2/T2 series supplies are a single +12v rail design, like most modern high-power supplies they generate the +12VDC then convert the other voltages from THAT single big rail.

Just Get a Cpu to PCIe converter and you are good to go
Anyways its better to not try anythig risky and just buy and wait for appropiate conectors then to hasty and fuk something up

I have room for a 7th GPU in my rig, however the only 8pin PSU slot open is an extra CPU connection. I have an extra 8pin to dual 6+2 that I can use.
Is it safe to run a 1070 Ti off of that?
I also have the option of using a 6pin Peripheral slot with a 6pin to dual 6+2pins, but I'd have to buy it.
I assume each rail is capable, but I just wanted to check to make sure.

They have an inversed layout of ground and power lines. If you have the right one - it's safe, I am using mine to power two gtx1060 which consume even more than one 1070ti.
