I think I know the post you are referencing , it looks like they are cheaper on ebay than here. Unless I'm thinking of a different post.

AS for cheap PCi-e cables best I found are here http://www.ebay.com/itm/281569103334?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT but no idea if they work with that PSU i bought a pack of those cables off Ebay they are good sable cables but have yet to try and plug it into that PSU, don't think i will . i was not going to post it but am with a warning use at your risk or ask hat seller on Ebay if he can make you some . hes all so on the forums i forget his name thu .

Mine came with plugs on both ends , not with plugs on one end and strip wires on one either ask for it or use his other listing

I have a few evga's but if I send my 24 pin cable I am stuck as I do not have an extra 24 pin cables.

might have to buy a full set or find some one that can make custom PCI-e cables for that PSU. I Burt out two dvd players and one HD once plugin the wrong cables into that PSU so i make sure to use nothing but the cables that came with it . SO i know how you feel.

I use one of there PSU from the list above with one S5 but do have this PSU ,did use it to mine with at one time till one of my PC's PSU couldn't handle my R9 290 .

Those cable sets i linked are made for the PSU it lists and are EVGA cables .
