Dogecoin is not a bad choice for investment, but when compared to Ethereum it is certainly better Ethereum. If you want to move your Dogecoin
into Ethereum that's fine in my opinion. Moreover, seeing Ethereum's performance has been extraordinary this year, there is really no reason not
to buy Ethereum. You can also don't replace all of your Dogecoin with Ethereum, there's nothing wrong with keeping some of the Dogecoin you have.
Considering that Elon Musk often shills Dogecoin, so in the future there is a possibility that Dogecoin can pump up again.

Hey everybody,

I've just found an old wallet with thousands of dogecoins inside.

Since I'm a newbie, I would have some advices about exchange with others Altcoin. I was  thinking about exchanging my XDG for ETH. Is it worth? I should keep my Doge or exchange with other coins?

Thanks for help
Although you are new to us, you must know that we're all talking about the future as our old experience, which experience will never be equal. Here I think you should sell Dogecoin to buy other altcoins even though I know that Dogecoin will go further. What I'm trying to predict is that making a huge pumped coin won't pump huge next time.

People bought Doge and now they don't know what to do with it. Although this is strange, it was obvious from the very beginning that the Dogecoin coin had no chance of catching up with more or less promising projects. Indeed, the market is rich in decent coins with low capitalization, but nevertheless with a chance for price growth and development.

And what does Dogecoin have to offer to its users? Consistently low ratings? Or occasional spikes following Mr. Musk's tweets? And when Tesla's creator will again think about Doge.  Huh

Never sell your dogecoins. If you are thinking of converting it to other digital currencies, why not move to bitcoin, which is both more stable and rising in price?Or if you are looking for more profit why not buy Harmony (ONE)? Have you looked at the chart?

But given the conditions of ETH and its high fees, I recommend that you do not buy it or think about buying a lot of it.

he already gained with doge which i guess the wallet is a very old one. i think its his old wallet that he had forgotten a long time ago.
since you see doge had already gone up, he should just keep the doge for longterm because it's certain to be going to run up again. it's not as if the coin is useless, we all are using it on casinos and there are even businesses accepting doge.

May i know why you want to exchange your dogecoin ? If it is from old wallet, then you already have the profit from it.
You can take your profit by selling your doge to USDT, although it will be a different story if you want to re-invest your profit.
Maybe the best choice is BNB coin. BNB coin will be burned over time and that will makes the coin price higher.

Too much speculation and with how Musk brings the hypes, it's better to split your assets, having thousands of Doge as OP stated sell some while hold also some portions of your wealth.
The OP is holding a mere thousands of doge and it is not a huge amount, let him keep that for the long term and then book the profit than splitting them up, if you were holding even hundred thousand Doge then you could have sold a bit and wait for the right moment to sell the rest but since it is thousands it does not make sense as the valuation is below $80.

I would still sell at least 50% of the DOGE and exchange it for BTC, ETH, BNB,... These coins are a better fit to hold longterm and will probably have a better ROI than just holding all your DOGE. With the rest of the DOGE, you can wait for another pump and than sell some more.

for me you can exchange 40% to stable coin like usdt, and 40% to eth, btc, bnb, while the remain 20% should remain in doge coin, with that you can play safe and still earn profit on the longrun.

DOGE seems to be missing Elon Musk's tweets at the moment. In fact, there are millions of coins on the market that are superior to DOGE. It's preferable to turn to a new coin. I am unable to provide investment advice. But, in my opinion, BNB, One Peace, and Cosmetic Atom are the easiest projects to follow. This is not, once again, tax counseling.

I think the easiest way is buying coins of exchanges like BNB, FTT, KCS, Huobi etc. I expect bnb to go up till 400 usd. when Huobi coin  hits the bottom i will also buy it.

People here can only suggest you altcoins but please do your own due diligence on the coins before investing in them. After being on this forum and seeing people scamming, I can say most have their own agenda to promote this include their altcoin.
So be wise and choose carefully.

I mean even though DOGE Coin is kinda trendy and being hype by Elon Musk I wouldn't really hold this token at all or invest in it since it more like a gamble because it doesn't have any utility.

I'm thinking where Elon Musk could give the DOGE coin a utility like for example DOGE coin can be used buying a Tesla unless Elon doesn't really care and just hyping the token, it just too risky if you consider it as an investment to earn a good profit.

For me, it's better to hold other altcoins than this DOGE coin, something like BNB, ETH, ENJ, CHZ, MANA. something that is hot at the moment would give a lot more better when it comes to profit and for long term investment.

It's better if you can exchange your doge with top 100 CMC. As far as i know if the future of dogecoin is not so good as the speculator said. Eth is a better choice to be used as long term hold rather than doge coin. I think that doge coin is totally over valued and it has unlimited supply. Doge is getting pumped now due to the elon musk's tweet but we don't know whether this pump can sustain more than 1 quarter.
More supply goes to the market means dump.

is DogeCoin leaving in the near future? it looks like it is close to that speculation. We really can't expect much more for DogeCoin, the fact is they do too many horrible pumps. as a result the signs of the decline continued. but all can not be predicted with accuracy, the CEO of Tesla always makes conspiracy theories for followers, most of whom are dominated by DogeCoin holders with Elon Musk magic tweet. and the right decision for holders of large amounts of DogeCoin such as OP, then immediately exchange them with coins that are much more valuable in the long term.

Too much speculation and with how Musk brings the hypes, it's better to split your assets, having thousands of Doge as OP stated sell some while hold also some portions of your wealth.

There are lots of advise that's being brought here, try to look for what you think is best for your money, even you just find something really good, a fortune in disguise as the value of Doge is really awesome by now.

Take your money as you deserve to enjoy the luxury.

BNB, UNI, ETH, DOT, LINK, ADA and finally BTC this are the coins that I recommend in exchange to DOGE but if you have thousands DOGE I will also suggest to hold some of it like 10%, We never know if this coin will explode again in the coming months so just hodl for long term remember we are still in bull market and alt season is imminent.

This is right. The fact that the recent pump of dogecoin is very confusing, we should not put so much trust on it. The best way to do is to exchange your dogecoin to those stable coins like eth, btc and usdt. Bitcoin is expected to reach $60k ATH this year 2021.

How much is the total worth of Dogecoins which you found in your old wallet. Since the price of doge coin is low, even thousand of doge coin wont give you much amount in usd to buy a large quantity of ethereum. I will suggest that you buy Ada. Althogh the ada price is around 1.3$ but it can likely go to 3 -5 dollars in next few months if the market recovers.

actually, if you have found a wallet with XDG coins, that is hardly DOGE, since XDG is an exchange used symbol, so you cannot find that in your wallet
you could find those on Kraken exchange for example, but than you had actually found an exchange account, not old wallet

nevertheless, it is the best to use your own analysis and try what to buy for that

You can hold your doge for many years, you can make profit of it but it's better to exchange in some altcoins that has real project because you can gain more profit in the future than holding dogecoin. ETH, DOT, ADA and BNB are good investments so choose one of these altcoins.

That feeling when you find money lying around Grin, I don't know if you should still keep the dogecoin, there's dogecoin still has a room to grow in terms of price? Cuz judging by the amount of coins in circulation, I'm not so sure the price will grow that big even in the near future, doge is just a meme coin for Elon Musk now, anyway changing your dogecoin to eth isn't bad idea at all, cuz Ethereum still has alot of room to grow in terms of price, but I would have preferred bitcoin.

But I personally recommend BNB, One harmony, Cosmetic Atom are the best projects to keep in touch with. Again this is not financial advice.

BNB, ETH, BTC doing good. I think BNB is perfect for invest now. It’s fully my opinion.

Everyone started to use BSC. Demand for BNB still increasing for it. I also invested a small amount in BNB.

But, You have to understand market first before investing in any coins otherwise you can face high loss.

Do your due diligent before making a decision,  personally I would have suggest btc, this is where the money is going lately, the attention is on btc, institutional investors are very much interested in joining the btc train, and there is the $100k plus btc prediction and from the look of things btc is not shying away from that prediction, however, the choice is yours but make it wisely, and don't keep your dogecoin for a better price in future.

You will get many advice on which coin to invest but you need to look at the market and then come to a conclusion before investing. You need to understand that the price of ETH rallied from $50 an year ago to around $2000 and you will understand the risk if you are investing right, the price might rally in either direction. It is better to find a small valuation top coin that has the potential rather than investing in coins that has rallied considerably in the past few months.

If you exchange it for Eth coin then it is not wrong in my opinion, because Eth is one altcoin that has potential, and you can exchange your Doge coins for Btc or any other altcoins you think are good for the future.

Thanks all for the precious advices.

I already have a wallet with BTC so I would like to evaluate some other coins in order to diversify the investment.
By the way I was more interested in understanding whether to keep the Doge or not and the common feeling is to exchange it so I will inquire about the ones you have proposed and I will choose the most stable. Thanks!!

If I were you, I'd sell most of my Dogecoin since that coin is all about hype anyway. People have been pumping Dogecoin none stop lately so there might be a negative effect on that (remember wallstreetbets? remember Elon Musk?). Go for Bitcoin if you aren't sure. Eth is also a good investment but the fees are a turn off so it's going to have a hard time getting new players.

It's worth consider ethereum has a better fundamental compared with the dogecoin. You must also see that elon has been confirming if he was not investing in doge but he takes it as a joke coin.
That's why he was making a lot of troll on his twitter account.
I think that you may consider another choice  just like BNB, polkadot, ADA and many more consider these coins have better fundamental than doge.

If you can hold ETH for long time then you can convert doge into eth. I am saying this because eth is near all time high and it can have a little dump from here as the whole market is overbought. You can also thinking of buying TRX as this coin is at the support and may pump in the near future.

If you're wondering and can't decide exactly what to invest in at the moment, you can turn your Dodgecoin into one of the "safe" coins like Tether, because I think the price of Dodgecoin will continue to fall. Once you decide what to do with the money, you can turn the Tethers into something else.

Invest in something you really believe has a potential in the future. I'd go for privacy coins, since surveillance and control are on an All-Time High everywhere in the world. Regarding Doge, I would personally not keep it. Its price growth is not sustainable since it was just a celebrity pumping it basically.

I will exchange it for other coin as i don't believe in the long term potential of doge. ETH is a good choice but don't expect it to multiply like other low marketcap coin, maybe expect it to grow 20-30% more is reasonable in this bullrun. You can also look at other coin in the top 100 coinmarketcap like bnb, polkadot, ada (especially the last two as it seems like it's their turn right now to move).

It's pretty hard to tell if Doge will still grow higher or not but there are other altcoins that I'm pretty sure will grow better as fast as the bitcoin bullrun is still up and running, altcoins like avalanche, polkadot, chainlink, BNB, Neo haven't get done yet, I believe they are just getting started

I would say the following:

BTC
BNB
ADA

That's the first 3 that I would do if ever I see some Doge in my old wallet.

ETH though is still good if you wanted to exchange it, since it's a prime mover as well in the altcoin market. But those 3 looks solid to me, but that's just opinion though.

If you aren't satisfied with your ROI don't bother swapping your doge coin for another coins, the more bitcoin remains bullish the more altcoins will keep growing so there is probability that you will still make more from your doge coin bag
