merit sources as the new billionaires and investors in "bitcointalk"... but i found lots of newbies here that want to really engage into cryptoeconomics but feel demotivated. well i work with them at least. maybe it will be sooner or later time to develop a new cryptoforum, i mean growing the reach of cryptoeconomics has the potential of making it much more stable, with a bigger more inclusive more open community

Not true. merit sources don't sell merits. they don't pay the forum to become a source. as one, the only way to contact me is via PM. admin has access to PMs. I haven't provided other means of communication to people. only way for me to use my source merits for my personal and financial gain, is by receiving offers in PM. do you see me giving out any information about how to contact me outside of this forum?

Look at this topic. it has 245 pages after 2 days. should posters in that topic rank up? all of them are account farmers. greedy cheaters. nobody would give $1 Million to them. what they need is for them to advertise their ICO. they are encouraging people to cheat. you should blame them if you are not getting merits.

Right. Well then that just solidifies my point more, doesn't it?

Absolutely. Means the argument that merit is preventing people from participating in the forum makes even less sense than it did before. Merit is only preventing people from selling their signatures.

Being totally pedantic here - If I'm not mistaken, the wait time between posts is depedent on activity and not on rank (granted before the merit system everyone with the same activity had the same rank, but not anymore). See here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2702160. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.
Right. Well then that just solidifies my point more, doesn't it? I guess I had associated it with rank in lieu of the old limits with sections that would be for Brand New and Newbie members.

So yeah, that's correct. And even after two weeks (or less) here, you can begin to post once per minute. It doesn't make sense to ask or any more than that (on a basic level anyway) since posts that take less than a minute to make are worthless anyway. Either the post would be unconstructive or the thread would be unconstructive, thus passing its worthlessness to the post.

collecting merit is in my oppinion a waste of time for the newbies as i dont believe this forum will hold that long, there will be new forums emergin etc.
Then if you're going to use those new forums to discuss Bitcoin, you shouldn't care about merit at all. If the purpose of your forum stay is purely to discuss topics and start conversations with others, then merit should not even cross your mind.

The only difference between ranks is the wait time between posts, and even at a Jr. Member level (no merit required) it becomes short enough to the point where you can freely talk between people.

How can you assess a person's trust by looking at their posts? Especially if they have just bought the account.

I agree that new forums will emerge as Bitcoin Talk loses its cheaters, idlers and scammers, and those just chasing a quick buck ( and never catching it, it would appear). I'll be glad to be a part of the new stronger Bitcoin Talk, and I hope that I can play a small part in creating it.

you mean a new cryptotalk or bitcointalk?

because bitcointalk aready exists

So after receiving negative trust for trying to trade merits since you couldn't be bothered to earn them like everybody else, you now want to trade trust since you can't be bothered to earn that either.

Not gonna happen.

pm me if you are interested.

A warning to anyone considering this: your account will be red-tagged to hell if you are caught trading trust.

Warning for what? OP is not a DT1-2 member. he couldn't be a DT1-2 member with this attitude. he is just angry. when they all posted garbage to rank up before the merit, they didn't realize what they were doing has consequences. plumbers came and closed the flow of the magic. now merit sources are the ones with some magic. we sniff some fairy dust every month. now the library has the fountain of magic.

''the problem is that its a broken system. many new forum members have issues with it.'' Yea, it's broken if people like you waste their 22 merit points ''i have 22 merits i could give to someone if he then gives me 22 merits in return.'' instead of giving them to newbies or other people. Just deal with it, your account is fucked now.

those that donate revied merit to each other, dont do that because they are hostile towards this forum or newbies but because they are say themselves "at least i canwarum up my account" before the admins overdraw themselves like those army generals and their breast stickers...

If after the crypto boom this forum is still the biggest one I doubt any other forum will take its place. This forum will survive for years, for sure.

I actually think he's talking about positive feedback here. It seems he doesn't care to earn merit or trust naturally but would rather just swap it for nothing with people. People accumulate trust/feedback over time and it shouldn't be given away just because. Do trades and be a trustworthy and active member of the community and you will build up reputation over time. Trading it is meaningless and will be counterproductive if anything.

it takes too much time and i am too busy with other stuff, i am just asking for someone who wants to exchange then i check out weather his account is trustworthy and has good intentions then i give him trust

if trust and merit doesnt flow right, then only the forums admins and their ass kissers will have it.

i dont swap for nothing, i do a review, before i support someone, thats why its called exchanging donations that are reviewed and considered

i am afraid if that wouldnt be possible only way to earn merit/dust would be by constantly kiss the ass of the forums admins, and the bitcoin miner core that dominates it.

remember in what environment bitcoin was founded, it was also a dominated society and everyone had to kiss the bankers ass.

I'm assuming you are talking about merit. Sending one another trust (privately) is not the way to do things.

Why not keep things public? That way you're adding transparency and there will be a record so that you can justify your 'merit donations'.

are here people that are not beeing rewarded with trust, they deserve?

why dont we just do an exchange of reviewed and considered trust donations? you show me why you earned trust through some posts (as i do as well) and then we do reviewed and considered trust donations, both parties have to agree on the other persons agenda, and goals.

otherwise only the elderly forum founders and admins will have huge trust because they support each other. because they will be the only systematically corporating group in this forum
