Yeah, the website is now unreachable and I guess they've planned it well and just waiting for someone to have that much money into their platform and will just leave it then and everything's gonna be abandoned afterwards. Their profile is no longer active and the last login date was last year of July and no signs of coming back. It's possible that there were other users that have funds stuck there and weren't able to withdraw it before they shut down. From the lesson here, the scammers might also run a campaign for them to gain trust from everyone and they're capable to pay any amount not just in the campaign but also in the withdrawals and deposits of their customers.

This has happened to me in the year 2021 March. A punzi scheme was operating in my country for more than two years without anyone complaining and people started to believe the scheme that it was a legit platform for investment but the day when things went wrong, people loss millions and thousands. So any company that is over genuine too is also a suspect. So what we have to do is just be careful when ever we dealing with this casino and other financial dealings online.
The web is full of so many scammers looking to grab anything from chaps who are careless. Even honest looking service sometimes just close business all of a sudden, so it's important one does not keep their funds online for a long time.

As for Ponzi schemes, any form of Ponzi scheme however good it looks like or however popular it is a scam. They all are.

~snip~ actually I had forgotten about the scam site and I forgot and threw away everything related to Betja.com.
I had also forgotten about BetJA.com. I sent several emails to their support at that time. Unfortunately, their email support was unreachable as the website was down.

@Solosanz, Thanks for creating a proper flag against Betja.com by creating this scam accusation. I have supported to this flag. I hadn't supported the previous flag as you didn't provide any valid reference in it.

If a betting site run a signature campaign and paid their participants possibly established for about one year here doesn't guaranteed a total trustworthiness, they might pretends to be good gambling site and whenever their needs is met they may decides to zoom off, taking people unware. That is why today if i want to gamble i would like to know the people involved in the gambling site and i always use a reputable gambling site to place my bet, that is why we have to be very careful and mindful with how we deposit our heart earn money all in the name of using their site to gamble.

BetJa website has been down for almost a year now which is a clear indication that they'll not come back.
I'm curious why no one has created a flag against them prior to this?
I'm also curious why they did this, isn't gambling a profitable business! Wouldn't they've earned more by keeping their service running, legitimately!

It ain't an ideal world, my friend. Gambling ain't always profitable when so many have shut down over the years, even when the owners had no malicious intentions.

Professional scammers who want to scam big amount not money do not just scam and run away. They will be on the legit part for some times more than a year and when they discovered that they have discovered the they have the highest trust from the large number of people and when a very good number of people deposit a very big amounts of money then that is when the website will be disturbing and complain from the management from one issue to another.

Solosanz your great idea to make them a reference for the future, if they come back here.
Maybe they will, it's also possible they already came back under another name! We should keep a close eye on new casinos to see if any of them look similar to BetJa.

This is an old case, I create it just for a reference.
I just saw today about the Betja.com gambling site, @Solosanz wants to warn the community here again, I used to be a gambler on the Betja.com site, unfortunately I can only place bets and withdraw twice, for the third time that's what happened, closing the site my balance was swallowed up by Betja.com, I don't know where, actually I had forgotten about the scam site and I forgot and threw away everything related to Betja.com.

What happened: Betja was a no KYC sportsbook with decent reputation in this forum because they have been established for around a year, run a signature campaign, run few promotions, and solve any complaints toward them, they've distribute the reward for signature campaign and promotions without any issue. There's a newbie claim to get scammed for 1.1 BTC on Betja and he can't withdraw it because the site went down without any explanation from the representative. So it's clear an exit scam.

I supported the flag.

I really feel sad for the players of this scam casino whose team's intentions were to promote their platform in the forum through signature campaigns to attract potential customers and even collect the money of players and gamblers over the course of a year and then run away; they did not even put KYC procedures in place so that there would be no obstacle for anyone to use their scam casino platform and deposit his money on it and start playing and earning, so that they not only stole 1.1 BTC from this person only and were satisfied with that, but rather collected vast amounts of bitcoins from different clients whose reviews were found on the reviews and ratings sites on the Internet.

Not all casino platforms promoted on the forum by trusted managers are reliable. You should be careful before choosing the casino platform you will deal with.

Nice work creating thread + flag. Surprised it took this long for a scam accusation to be created given they exit scammed back in July!
One of the victims who was supposed to create the scam accusation did promise that they would do so, but never bothered to come around to create it. Perhaps that's why some other members were reluctant about creating it.

I think this is the difference (as well as purpose) between a type 1 and a type 3 flag. Anyone can create a type 1 as has been done with the current topic, whereas a type 3 needs to be created by someone personally affected by the exit scam. So in this sense, there should never be an issue/contradiction with creating a type 1 flag prior to be a type 3 being created (as in this case, it was never created).

May have got my type 1 & 3 mixed up here, but you get the point... one should never wait for a scammers flag to be created, but instead apply the newbie warning flag in case the former never arrives...

I feel sorry for guys who lost money there, but they should never hold coins on websites like this.
Sometimes they are just winnings and just as you attempt to withdraw the funds, you get locked out.

but I don't think we are going to see those scammers back in forum ever again, unless they will perform rinse and repeat scam with new name.
Yep, rinse and repeat is the most likely way to come back.

Even if Betja was a legit casino (and now we know it wasn't the case), this was not the way to shutdown website and don't post any announcement about that in forum or in social media.

(Though realise a lot of the issues were already discussed in the ANN thread, but even so)

Seems like DT members have been slacking recently given how obvious an exit scam this turned out to be...

OP it is nice you raised up this thread. This will call the attention of participants here to be wary of this casino if they eventually resurface again. Although when I checked, this complaint should be a year and since then there have not been any solution to it. This calls for more caution by participants noting that not all the casino they see are for real and some are just waiting just to delay to make gamblers feel they are real and at given time, they run away with gamblers funds and assets under their custody.

I was thinking if their is any possibility of identifying them if per adventure they resurface again with a different identity so that they can be easily recognized and discarded from the casino space. This I suggest should be taken into cognizance.

No scammers will give an explanation about their exits, most of them gone without leaving any hint of possible run out of the owners. This indicate that even how eager they are for running a promotion or how to make their casino trusted 1 year is not enough time to determine that they are really a legit gambling site. And we need to be more careful on new casino will launch because same thing might happen again so we need to be more xareful for that.

I can see from here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.60770061, that it is as old as August last year that people on this forum knew that Betja is a scam gambling site.

Nice bringing it up though.
