Check the program settings for an option such as "start with system" (I'm not using the full client, so I can't check the exact text, but I know the option is there).

If your wallet is encrypted, nobody will be able to spend your bitcoins without your passphrase. However, the passphrase isn't required to view your balance or transactions, so if you're concerned about anybody seeing your balanace, you'll need to take steps to limit access to your computer.

I am trying to understand why you can "Exit/Close Window" BTC Wallet but it does not shut the client down.

When you turn your computer on next time BTC Wallet just opens.

How do you, or, can you close it completely and then use your password to open the wallet next time you want to use it?

My concern is that anybody has access to the wallet when the computer is on.

Thanks for any comments.
close it down in the tray in the bottom right of the screen  Smiley

This, right click close
I have done that, but it just opens next time with no request for a password.

you must have set it to remember your password, i dont know what you are using. or you might have to ctrl+alt+del and close task if its frozen.
