what vpn do you use thats causing this problem ?

PVA (private internet access) I plan to stop using it and I've started to stop using Exodus.
I only had a problem with this wallet using this VPN and Psiphon (used it once and deleted it)

I apologize for the delay in updating the topic: I updated Exodus wallet and VPN app (PVA) and the problem was resolved.
It seems to be related to the VPN update(I sent a message to the support team to find out what happened) more than Exodus's wallet.
This does not prevent that Exodus still disabling some features based on my real IP address such as stacking, nor synchronize based on it.

I can't say I've ever experienced an app shutting down a VPN connection (excluding the actual VPN app itself of course)...

Is your device rooted? Huh

It's very possible that they detected your real IP address and that's why you can no longer use it. Shutting down a VPN sound very extreme, but detecting a VPN shouldn't on the other hand, is something that a lot of services do. This obviously wouldn't make much sense for a non-custodial wallet, yet still possible.

I would suggest reinstalling the wallet and restoring it and see if that works for you. If it doesn't, your best bet would be to either contact the support or post in their subreddit, they're very responsive in both. You can be open about the fact that you're from a banned country, that wouldn't make a difference if you don't have any open orders.

I think to know why exactly that happens you should check the ADB logcat to inspect what things interfere with your VPN connection. As a start, you can either check the Exodus app itself or the VPN APP name or the VPN tag log message.

Code:
adb logcat | grep exodusmovement.exodus
#or
adb logcat | grep
#or
adb logcat | grep Vpn
I'm sure there is a better command for it, but I guess that should suffice as a start to know why the connection stopped.

This is a really weird situation, because how else to explain that just running a wallet stops a VPN connection - as if the wallet itself is configured to close if it detects a VPN Huh
If the wallet closed itself when it detects a VPN connection, I would understand that. But in this particular case, the wallet makes the VPN turn off. How can Exodus possibly have an affect on other software?

@hugeblack
Have you tried with some other VPN to see if the issues continue with other software as well?
Some time ago I came across Tachyon VPN on the forum. I think it should still be free to use. Sometimes I fire it up when I am outside accessing my stuff on a public network.

I don’t know if you’ve tried all the tips from their site, but maybe something will help - have you perhaps tried to change the DNS on your smartphone?

Is this an android issue on your side?

Have you tried to use a dedicated proxy instead and manually set up your Android device with that proxy and test it again if it will automatically disable the proxy?
If it PC/Laptop do the same setup the proxy manually.

If nothing works then try the solution from this link below.

I've never used a VPN to run Exodus (desktop or Android) and have never had issues trying to run it... are you in a country or using a phone company/ISP that is attempting to block cryptocurrency or something? Huh
No, but I remember a while ago shapeshift servers (Exodus Wallet uses it to make exchanges) blocked access to it from UAE IP addresses, so since that time I'm using VPN continuously.
Whenever I try to open the wallet the VPN connection stops automatically, I tried to access the wallet without VPN, some coins synced but most of them didn't. Huh Huh

I can still extract the private key but what is happening is strange, I installed the latest version, checked the wallet and checked that the coins using block explore and still have problems with sync.
Other wallets synchronize without VPN and for the same coins.

Recently, I have problem with Exodus when using the desktop version even after upgrading to the latest version which was released a few days ago.
But on Android, whether I use VPN or not, it works well. The wallet is synced and I should be able to make transactions.

Today, whenever I try to access the wallet, the VPN connection stops automatically even though I have used several VPN programs. (Android device)
Has any of you encountered such a problem?

I don't have a large amount in that wallet and I will export the private key but I would like to know why this is happening and if any of you faced any similar problem.
