The rule not to help recover coins sent to a wrong address is nothing else but a way to legally steal money from customers (imo). If they don't want to go through the hassle of recovering those coins, then they should let their customers decide whether they want to use permanent addresses or not.
Addresses never expire and recovering your coins shouldn't take more than few minutes.
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do other than contacting their customers support and wait for their reply.

This is just one of the downsides of using centralized exchanges.

Recovering these currencies requires manual access from support team and updating your balance. they put this rule  to avoid pressure on their support team.
In the end, the coins they have and they can withdraw them, so contact the support team and ask them to do so.
It will take some time, but if you continue to order the coins will be returned to you.
In the future, small sums may be huge wealth.

Most likely flogging a dead horse on this topic, but the advise of the experts here will truly be appreciated. I send bitcoin from my LUNO wallet to the Kraken exchange (my own asset account on Kraken)  but used an expired deposit address that I used before. Possible to advise how to go about to "recover" these funds...?
In reality a bitcoin address will never expires which means the exchanges got your funds but they won't let you to access is just because they mentioned it in their terms. So only choice is to contact support team and they may consider it to recover for you but less likely to happen.

In case of transactions sent to wrong addresses, they tend take a very long time to respond, so keep contacting them, but don't get your hopes up if it's a small amount.

Kraken will still be able to access this address, and there is a good chance that any coins sent to it will be automatically swept in to their main hot wallets even though they are not registered against your account balance. Sending them a email and asking nicely is your only chance, but if it isn't a huge amount of bitcoin then they will probably decide it isn't worth their time.

There isn't much to do. If the funds are not showing in the account then the only one who can help you is the support but I doubt they'll help:

We recommend that you stop using deposit addresses that are set to expire as soon as possible. Kraken is not responsible for funds sent to an expired deposit address.
