I also filled out the form at the beginning, but to date I have not received anything, and I no longer hope for any positive outcome. I doubt anyone is compensated, it is very easy to create several hundred false testimonies and disappear with money - which this scammer did.

Update: nothing changed. I am still waiting for the refund.

Honestly, I sensed something fishy about express crypto from the onset. I never trusted them after I read some of their terms and conditions of service. I had to change my bitcoin faucet from express crypto to faucetpay.io . People should stop playing with people funds.

same here , this is second time I lost fund on site like that. I’m collecting month and month to get $200 and lose it on EC. Still didn’t get mail about refund. ☹️

I will do the same , when I reach minimum for withdraw on Faucetpay , I’m gonna withdraw all fund on my private wallet.
You already lost on your first but you did not learn your lessoned yet? But I hope this second lost will now finally made you realized that scams are anywhere and you should not put your 100 percent trust to any website that you use most especially if they are new. This is why I hardly trust micro payment sites because earning is slow on them and what if the moment you already reach the minimal withdraw, the site will then closed? It is going to be a big loss for you since you waited too long and exerted much of an effort just to product that tiny amount.

By the way did you fill in the refund form already on their website before? I can see that they will no  longer entertain questions. Sorry for you and for the other's loss Sad.

Not so long ago I decided to withdraw everything I could when it came to the withdraw limit, so I reduced the damage in some way.

That is the life lesson for me and many others in this.   I will never ever leave a lot of money in this type of faucet storage site again.    Going forward, as soon as I have more than 5 or 10 dollars in faucetpay or any similar site, I am moving it.

It seems that OP, you left some of your funds on the site not taking it out before time. This is one thing that always have its effect when things start turning around with the site. They claim that their database cannot be retrieved for some reasons. What so ever reason that could be, there is always room for tracing out the error, if this is not some form of scam, the site would have been worked on and this errors corrected. Every business oriented person, and one willing to make profit by rendering useful service to the public will always work on his/her source of income, to be smooth and running.

As everyone knows, ExpressCrypto has been offline since 2021-12-24 09:41:17. Our database server currently cannot recognize the primary and backup disk.
As said by the site from Google search. There are lots of freelancers out there that will get it rectified, just a matter of the price, and the job will get done.

I have not received any response or payment, and the more time passes, the less I hope for that. We should have listened to the owner of FaucetHub when he warned us that this would happen sooner or later, once a scammer, always a scammer. However, I leave the possibility for the owner to go first with higher payments, and only then with the smaller ones (which is my case). Not so long ago I decided to withdraw everything I could when it came to the withdraw limit, so I reduced the damage in some way.

yeah , that is the easiest way to run off with members funds..  Anyone get funds from ExpressCrypto? I'm still waiting their message on mail.  Sad

I finally got a message from them today stating.

"Hello,

We require more proof of your funds.

Can you forward us a list of TXIDs for your recent deposits.

Last date is 05/02/2022 otherwise we will decline your request.

Sincerely,"

The problem is that for most of us the transactions were hundreds and thousands of small deposits from multiple faucets, many of which are also closed due to the debacle/scam at express crypto.   I have a feeling that they are perfectly aware of this.   I replied telling them that they are the ones who lost the data and that I should not have to do that.   I demanded my money back, no questions asked, but am not expecting it at this point.

Long story short, don't hold your breath, they are going to do their best to weasel out of paying people as much as possible.

Edit-After a back and forth with them that lasted a couple hours and me just short of threatening a lawsuit, they gave me an amount of money that is much less than what i had.   I am tired of this whole thing and will take something over nothing.   Disappointing, but at least you will get something back.

Anyone get funds from ExpressCrypto? I'm still waiting their message on mail.  Sad

I haven’t gotten anything so far, and I filled out the form as soon as it was posted. In fact, it doesn't surprise me too much, because even if there are the best intentions (which we all have reason to doubt), this is a one-man operation, and given the thousands of EC users, it could take months to complete.

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked  what a lair of scammers, everyone has the same problem....

Hey Awesome Members of BTCpop,
As you have probably already noticed we are offline at the moment,
just be be clear this was a rare multiple hardware failure problem with minor data loss.
After a series of strange and unfortunate events ending with the database hard drive failing, we had to take BTCpop offline for a short time.
We are working to recover the database and hope to be back online within 7-10 days or sooner.
Any loans,Bonds, Instant loans etc that were due or are overdue will be fixed to reflect the time of the outage, all late fees/penalties are suspended until further notice.
Once BTCpop is back online all accounts should reflect the correct balances (your crypto is safe) as well as loans, bonds etc. should all be corrected or will be corrected shortly thereafter, should you find a problem once you can log in then we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible...dont let it linger!
In the meantime should you have any questions or concerns you can contact Customer Support here: support...btcpop.co we will get back to you within 24 hours.
We also encourage all members to check back daily as things may move quicker than expected.
Thank You for your understanding and support while we get this sorted, we will be back as quick as we can.
Lastly, without all you wonderful BTCpop members we would still not be around, so a big Thanks to all of you!See You Soon,

The BTCpop Team

@LTU_btc, these are all good questions that I have already asked - and it does not seem logical to me that someone would make payments based on someone's word alone - but it is possible that there is a database with which the claims can be compared.

I filled out the form the first day it became available, and I haven’t received anything yet, although they claim the return process began on January 24, 2022.

It definitely looks like exit scam. Ok, they gave 10 days to fill form, probably only smart part of users will fill form if they will remember their user ID. But how they're going pay out funds if they don't have any data? I can put some random ID and tell that I had $100 on my ballance. How they will know that user really had that money on his account? These things don't make much sense.
Filling form is only option left, but there isn't much hope left. Well, but you don't have more to lose than you already lost.

@alex2014, I think it is enough to fill out the form once because the only option that is required at the end is the Bitcoin address - and before that, you are required to state your funds on 24.12.2021. If any payments are made, everything will be converted and paid out into Bitcoin.

It's definitely exit scam, i bet they can't show formal report from the recovery company. The form itself is also ridiculous since they ask for Unique ID (which most people don't bother to remember).

As I mentioned, the owner is a well-known faucet scammer from the past and some expected this, although it took a little longer than they thought. As for the unique ID, it's something like the coin address that each user received when they created the account and is used for faucet claims - it's not something that most users should have problems with. My ID consists of only 5 numbers and I remembered it easily, but its length can be longer depending on the registration date.

I have filled out the form, I have nothing to lose but what has already been lost.

Looking at this review, SM2258H is still used by SSD producer in 2020. So it's impossible there aren't any data recovery company which support that chip.

Of course, it would be possible to repair the disk if that was really a problem, but for most faucet users, such technical things don't make much sense anyway.

A new update from the EC says they have not been able to save the disks, which means the EC is not returning - but offers the option to fill out a form that can be used to claim funds that were on the EC at the time it stopped working.

I don't understand how the owner intends to compensate the clients if all the data is destroyed? In addition, the deadline he gives is only 10 days, which means that he aims to ensure that as few people as possible manage to claim their funds - an old trick of scammers who try to justify their actions.

Sorry to hear that. One problem is that if it does return, will they still have your account data.

It's been over two weeks without any update, so regardless of whether it ever comes back or not, this is rather poor.

I wasn't aware that Expresscrypto is owned by well known scammer. It's strange that despite such things, Expresscrypto become quite popular microwallet and there were no red flags about them.

As far as I know, he had some faucets on FaucetHub that are scam users or something like that, and I remember a warning from @mexicantarget about something like this could happen. Otherwise, admin EC is known by the name achchou, and under that name, he also had faucets on FaucetHub.

Now I think it's small chance that Expresscrypto will return. Already enough time passed and haven't heard anything from them for a while.

I agree, the only chance is that this is about the owner being incredibly incompetent and that he really inadvertently messed things up - even though the chance of that is less than 10%. If the service doesn't return in ten days, I think it will be just another in a series that performed a successful exit scam.

I am also damaged for a smaller amount, although it bothers me more that I promoted this service from the very beginning, but who knew that everything would end like this.

Here are the last updates they made on their home page

Updates:

- 2021-12-29: Special recovery company working on the restoration of both disks.
- 2022-01-04: Due to the holidays, there is no update from the company.

I can only say that the whole thing seems very suspicious, and that I now remembered the warning given by the owner of FaucetHub (mexicantarget) regarding the owner of ExpressCrypto who was a famous scammer on his platform at the time. At this point, there is still a chance that the site will work again - although the whole situation does not look promising at all.

I’ve had a few successful payouts from there in the past, but we all know it doesn’t mean anything in the long run.

Yeah, getting payment doesn't mean anything in long term. Most of microwallets were legit for more or less time - Epay, Microwallet, Faucetsystem and etc but all turned into scam.
Now I think it's small chance that Expresscrypto will return. Already enough time passed and haven't heard anything from them for a while.

But fact that they closed comments on their tweet don't look good.

Looking a bit further, it's more concerning that i thought,
1. They never disable comment, even on tweet about maintenance.
2. Using twitter search result (https://twitter.com/search?q=ExpressCryptoIo&src=typed_query&f=live), @ExpressCryptoIo don't bother reply any user question (such as estimated time).

Thanks for searching on Twitter, I see fresh comments, because the whole team is working on restoring the site ..

When the site is up and running, I will take all my coins ..

Maybe it's too early to say that they made exit scam. Let's wait few more days. But fact that they closed comments on their tweet don't look good.
0.009 BTC is big money from faucets, it would be so painful to lose it. But probably it's not good idea to keep so much coins on microwallet. Back when I was active on faucets, I requested payment as soon as I reach payment treshold. Though, fees for it weren't that big as now.

I had a tap there, I gave out dogokins, and I earned bitcoins on advertising Sad

I still hope that they will come back .... I still have a balance of dogoins on my tap, this indicates that the api keys are working

Does it seem that this website is an old faucethub or a clone?

I don't know if they can resolve this database issue but I think this is an exit scam attempt just like what happened to faucethub before.

Do you have an account there and have funds left?
Let's hope it won't end the same as faucethub.
It's one of microwallets which got opened after Faucethub was closed.
And I think you confused Faucethub with some other website because they didn't made exit scam. They announced about closure and gave few months to users to withdraw their coins.
Websites like Epay.info or Faucetsystem.com made exit scam.

My sherlock sense is being triggered:

  • A quick google search for "Expresscrypto reddit" led me to find numerous reddit posts (+ users) with the same message being spread: "The autofaucets that I use to earn cryptos with ExpressCrypto just by leaving the browser open. Earn INSTANTLY and CONSTANTLY." The most recent one that I was able to find that wasn't deleted was this[1] one.
  • Their Trustpilot profile[2] is scary. The 5 stars comments definitely seem like bots/fake. The most real ones - to me at least - are the ones that report the same kind of problems usual with scam exchanges/micro wallet services / faucets, namely blocking account with no reason, charging exorbitant high fees - 80 %[3] - and slow/non-existent support according to numerous claims.
  • A Virustotal analysis reported Emsisoft as being "suspicious"[4] plus there was this[5] comment on the community tab:
    Quote
This IOC was found in a paste: https://pastebin.com/2KjG3zqg with the title "faucet_bot.php" by phishbox

For more information, or to report interesting/incorrect findings, contact us - [email protected]
  • Whenever I was browsing that page - archived by waybackmachine[6] - my CPU load increased significantly (from 5 % to 40 %). Either we are looking at a horrible coded website or perhaps they also employed browser mining methodologies[7]. I've also found references that during some period of time you could leave the browser open so that coins eventually were given to you, which make the plot ticken. This is not confirmed, but I would like to have further feedback from other members on this matter.

Nothing that I've seen makes me believe this is a "real" exchange/faucet/whatever this service is/was. It has all the landmarks from a fake service. If I were you, even if they come back, I wouldn't pour more money into it and instead would try - I doubt you'll be able to - withdraw everything you have from them.

They have twitter account and they've posted on December 26 that they've been experiencing database issue.
