In developing out Skubit services, I needed to put some pieces in place. I extended BitID into a new protocol called TidBit (Token ID Bitcoin Authentication). It uses digitally signed JSON Web Tokens (JWT), which will be more extendable and allow handling of things like scopes and authorizing services based on a bitcoin address.
I also had an outstanding request to allow import/export of keys in BitID Authenticator. So I went ahead and formalized Simple Bit Keystore. This is an easy, portable way to store encrypted EC keys in JSON format. This format should be easy to use in web apps as well.
