Every single bitcoin transaction is stored on the web for everyone to see.  That's how we prevent counterfeiting.

The Bitcoin P2P protocol is NOT the web.  The Bitcoin blockchain is NOT the web.  http://blockexplorer.com/ is one site on the web.

Other than that, the entire interview contains many poor informations or responses and also poorly formed questions designed to attack bitcoin.

You should blame the people who told you that bitcoin is anonymous. It isn't and it never was.

Wow,  You guys sure are defensive.  I'm not blaming anyone.

We've had a lot of trolls. Your title sounds trollish and is old news. Sorry if we came out of the gates swinging.

Yea it's Jeff Garzik, the one that wants to help governments to kidnap innocent people and put them in cages.

Though, with effort it indeed can approach pretty impenetrable levels of anonymity...

So I've heard.

You should call it privacy, not anonymity. Anonymity is an absolute thing.

Watch this interview with Gavin Anderson bit coin programmer/administrator. It's eye opening, especially what he says about working with the government,  using bitcoin is not anonymous, the exchanges are registered with the government and complying with all laws.  This guy also gave a talk to the CIA this week. You can find the link for that yourself.

Was this written to scare someone? If it was, you failed.

No. I'm just stating what he said and did.  Something happening this week is old news only in cyber land.

All well known stuff. All good for bitcoin. And it will always be anonymous enough if that is what you need. Just like cash. Cash is plenty autonomous until you stick it in a bank. Same with bitcoins. If you need to convert it to USD, you aren't anonymous anymore. Really it is a failing of other currencies, not bitcoin.
