At first I didn't even want to reply to your ignorant comment, FreeMoney. But no, we are not selling kids. In fact, we are battling child trafficking through education. Child trafficking is a serious and unfortunately very real problem in Nepal. Parents so poor that they can't even provide food for their own children, sell their kids through middleman who promise to get them a job working as a maid in the city. They hope their daughters will be better of, but in fact they are brought to India to work in the prostitution. Every year between 7,000 and 10,000 girls (!) between the age of 9 and 16, are brought to Indian brothels this way (http://www.childtrafficking.com/Docs/aengst_2001__girls_traffick.pdf).
I don't know if you have a daughter yourself, but imagine what it would be like to hand her over to a stranger who promises to take care of her. To send her with him or her, because you know they might be able to provide what you will never be able to do. And from the girls' perspective? I can only advice you to read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Sold-Patricia-Mccormick/dp/0786851724/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1306822856&sr=1-1
We are battling child trafficking through education. In school children learn about the dangers and consequences of child trafficking. Also, an educated child will eliminate the need for a parent to sell them through a middleman. An educated child in Nepal is a good way of securing your pension, since kids are supposed to take care of their parents when they grow up.
So in short: no, we are not selling kids (not even for Bitcoins). We are educating them so they can stay in school, and stay out of brothels.
