Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
I love bitcoin but still fairly new to everything. Was hasty and ignorant and had made an investment that turned out to be a sham...
...Can't wait to get rid of the glaring newbie on my profile

Let me extract some of your statements:

1. You love bitcoin.
2. You are new to bitcoin
3. You made a wrong newbie crypto investment
4. You are still a newbie
5. Yet, You hate to be called a newbie.

First, you need to appreciate your newbie status, it is a status you have to look back in 3years time and smile, then you will remember your humble beginning. Having the newbie badge will give you some privileges in the forum. Everyone will want to offer you help to grow. But if things works as you want, you can wear a Hero Member rank but a newbie experience, this would be so disastrous to you. Many information will elude you because it would be assumed you are already an expert in this field.
Be patient and pass through the system, then allow the system to pass through you.

Can't wait to get rid of the glaring newbie on my profile

As long as you're seeking for information, you should not care that much about the "newbie" word on the profile.
It can easily happen to have more intelligent discussions with newbies than with certain very high ranks.
Like everywhere, pay more attention on how's somebody thinking than how he looks Wink

What's wrong with, as you say, flashy rookie rank? It just says that in our ranks arrived. On the contrary, we are glad that more and more people are joining the forum, that is, bitcoin is moving in the right direction, regularly updating the ranks of those interested.
Reading the forum, you will grow unnoticed by yourself. One day you will realize that you understand enough of the value of bitcoin, and you will no longer feel like a beginner, no matter what rank you have achieved by that time on the forum.
Just don't give up, read and ask, this is a place that can completely change you and your life.

I read through the forum rules and happy to know that it's tightly moderated to intelligent discussions.
I hope you do not get too disappointed when you browse the forum more.
Jus like any platform on the internet, do not take all contents posted to be accurate, there are lots of spam around the forum and posts made solely for the sake of it. Always verify what you read.

Thanks for looking out. I know the internet isn't really a safe place and people can be misleading on purpose. I'm not ignorant anymore. I do try to verify for myself whatever I see on the internet. There are lots of information on here and people who understand it better than I do and I intend to browse through the lot. Thanks
You're in the right place to start with, just keep reading and spend your precious time here to gather more information about Bitcoin and other stuff behind it.  We're a community here and you are free to ask if there's something that you don't understand.  I was once in your situation when I was a newbie and I understand you very well on seeking the right information, that's a wise decision to always verify what you've heard.

See you around and I hope someday you will learn everything about Bitcoin.  It has an advantage always if we know much more about how Bitcoin works and it starts here in the forum.

Thank you for the encouragement. It's really appreciated. I'm spending more time on here and getting some new information. Definitely not as eager and hasty as before and less ignorant than I was too. It's a process and I intend going through it one step at a time. I really did appreciate your encouragement. Thanks

Every user once had that newbie era. But the stuff about Bitcoin is it can't keep you in shams despite how terrible the dip goes. The highest it will do is de-evaluate your capital. To get the best out of the entire investment ideology is to keep your research schedule on a very close check. Learning and always learning is the only trick to know when and how to maintain a good portfolio and keep the profit real

I have never heard of anyone that made an investment in Bitcoin and it turned to a sham. I think you must be mistaking Bitcoin for another coin probably you generalising the term Crypto currency.

Probably the OP invested at the wrong time (all time high) and since Bitcoin has suffered some corrections, he could be at a lost which brought about the whole sham statement. If that's the case OP then you just have to hodl unto your investment as there's one certainty about Bitcoin, returning back to its previous all time high and surpassing it, is a constant reoccurrence in every bull cycle.

Op you should learn from your mistakes and don't be in a hasty for something you're yet to understand. The mistakes you made are quite similar to what other newbies make when kicking off their journey in the industry so don't beat up yourself as the mistakes has already been done. Now get yourself educated first and steadily build up your portfolio for the next bull cycle.

Since you have read the forum rules, this is a good start. Take advantage of the forum depends on how excited you are to discover something new. And the more time you decide to spend here, the better it will be to learn new skills and benefit from ours as well. Also, you should not miss that not everything written here can be used. It is important that you verify all the topics you read, but within the comments of others you will necessarily find what you are about to look for .
