Lol, it's more than a scam. Coinmarketcap was acquired by Binance and they already have their native blockchain including coins. So it's totally unrealistic that they will Launch ICO anyway. Just faking everything. Those who have even common sense shouldn't fall into this trap except extremely stupid. I will say scammer is a stupid as good pic the wrong concept lol. However, forum users should ignore that, especially those who are newbies here.

To add to the evidence you provided, if you look up their eth address on etherscan.io you will get the following warning message: "Warning! There are reports that this address was used in a Phishing scam. Please exercise caution when interacting with this address." So, no doubt that this is a scam.
This, at least, proves that reporting scams is not useless or a waste of time as some may think.
Other than reporting the fake website to google, we can also report it to the domain registrar (Sav.com) and to the hosting company.

these warning on blockchain appears later my accusations, at least now it's has been clearly identified as a scam.
when I have created this thread there was nothing suggesting a scam (that's the reason I have posted immediately here on forum).
I guess it was just launched when I made the thread since there was just a comment in coinmarketcap "live chat" and now has been deleted.

thank you all for your comments.
Unfortunately we have seen tons of ICO Scam literally frauds. It's not easy at all, report all scam to google or authorities or site hosting.

I think that an effective solution is to report here on bitcointalk. I made immediately once I have seen this scam.
Because the forum has enough visibility on google and other search engine. If someone has a doubt and want to make a check... He will found this page! Not bad at all... probably we have saved some people to get scammed...

I'm happy to be proven wrong but this looks like a fake sale to me...
You are not wrong buddy, this is a pure scam.

When you think that no one will fall for such an obvious scam attempt, you check the addresses and see that people are sending ETH and BNB. At least address is tagged at Etherscan so this may protect couple of people and for some reason BSCscan is not showing any warning (not sure if it even has that feature).

I guess the domain will be hosted somewhere difficult to take down and it is not as easy as reporting it to the police in your country and they can take down the site.
It's probably the waste of time to go to the police for this. Nothing much to do other than reporting it to Google but knowing how slow they are, it will take some time for them to do anything about it.

It is clearly a scam, but I wonder: once we know this, is there any way to report it so that the authorities can take action?

In addition to the above, the Terms & Condition Privacy Policy Contact Us links obviously do not work.

It is undoubtedly a scam project because:
1. The site uses the name of https://coinmarketcap.com/
2. The sites uses the icon of https://coinmarketcap.com/
3. The sites uses the social media sites of https://coinmarketcap.com/

But if this both sites could be same then it could be announced on https://coinmarketcap.com/ or on their social media but https://coinmarketcap.com/ never announced that on anywhere. So the so-called site is pretending https://coinmarketcap.com/ to scam.
