This is the easiest way for scammers to deceive the victim, they make a fake site from HTML codes or a script that looks like the original site of the wallet or the exchange, and the domain name is close to the original domain with changing some letters or putting symbols, and you will find a box to log in via your private key or ask you to install a browser extension or download a malicious program or application, so you should always don't click on any links that come to you via email or telegram and make sure that you are using the original site.

The rule of the thumb is never click those ads, go to the indexed site, and always check the traffic rank phishing sites are reported and taken down fast that they never get a decent traffic rank and if you're using the site often be sure to bookmark it so you'll always see the star or your bookmark that you're on the right site.

I checked the website again to see whether an action against it has been made and it shows me this(image below)

If I copy the URL above I can't open the phishing site but when I try to click search on google then type "Gate io" it appears and when we click it can still be accessed .

Why you guys are trying to open a phishing site ?

I know that you will not give your login and credentials details on the scam site but still we should not open these sites and try to avoid them. You never know if there is any malware script which get downloaded while you are browsing the scam site. Also the scam site get stored on your browser history and URL and next time you trying to access the real site, you may accidently land on the phishing site.

looks like another phishing website of gate.io appeared. I am not entirely sure but I have a feeling that this new phishing site has the same owner as the last one. anyway, I've reported their ad on google I hope you guys do the same.

Code:
https://www-gate.io/sing-login-wallet/login.php?navegador=Chrome=&ip=180.190.250.183&key=oDQblGuQLcWQskKBQBuFeGHAgsaLeDJePZOWumWeQqWrhOIyeWfrrIDfJeau#

Not only Gate.io exchange that I found phishing ads on google but Kucoin exchange also phishing ads still showing on google we can type there about "kucoin".

If google was so good, they would have checked the sites before displaying them as ads. The bitter fact is that google also care for money only. If you have money, you can promote your scam sites through ads and that's a really bad side of google. This has been going on for so long and no one wants to take action to stop these scamming sites.

Google is here to do business so they will give priority to making money. However, this does not mean that Google has to earn money by helping to promote such fake, fake, phishing websites. Huge brands are constantly advertising their products on Google. As a result, there is a huge demand for Google ads and they are making huge amount of money. And the amount of fake phishing ads is very small, so it is understood that the scammers take advantage of the lack of Google's system to approve these ads.

Yeh, i have bookmarked the sites of the exchanges where i trade and never search them through google as there is always a chance to land on the phishing site. Though its easy to identify the fake site via URL but sometimes we not pay attention to the details.

Also, its shame on google ads too as this ad network can promote anything for the sake of money. Sad

These phishing websites are created by scammers to target new crypto users, as they can be easily trapped as they are not very experienced about such scams. Currently, companies like Google and Facebook are the biggest tool for scammers to scam people. Because the scammers using the ads of these companies are rapidly reaching a large number of people, which is really very dangerous. Google should check the ads carefully before approving this type of phishing ads.

We need to report this site as phishing website in google - https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en. The more who will report this site, the higher chance that google will shut this down. Already reported this also. And upon checking the site now, it is showing dangerous already. So it seems, some people already reported this as fake/phishing website which is good. Because if it is red all over, I don't think you will continue to check the site.

I was trying to go into Gate Exchange, but I couldn't remember the domain name, so I decided to look it up on Google and type in Gate exchange. At first, I was confused as to why Gate would have two ads on Google, are they that rich that they are bidding for two spaces on Google to promote their exchange? I decided to open the two ads on different tabs, and I was even more confused when I saw different pages, both of which were Gate exchanges, but after more inspection, I saw some variations, one was a scammer and the other was the real exchange.

The difference:

The real one directed me to:

Code:
https://www.gate.io/login

The fake one directed me to:

Code:
https://wvvvv-gate-io.com/sing-login-wallet/login.php

I tried to input fake details:

The real one had a captcha and return error: Invalid login details.

The fake one had a captcha and after collecting the details, I was redirected to the real gate exchange login page.

The similarities: They had the same login page, the design, the CSS is so identical.

One has to be very careful of what you see google sometimes.

Scam advertisements are more then common on the Google advertising platform. The process of verifying the legitimacy of the products/companies being advertised is done by a bot. I dont believe this process is able to be done with 100% accuracy by a person unless they have prior knowledge of the legitimate version of what the fake advertisement is pretending to be .

The second one (the fake one) is obviously phishing website, and it's a good thing you didn't enter your real login information.
The best way to access important websites is through bookmarks or typing the correct url directly into the browser's address bar. We should never use Google or any other search engine to access them.

The fake site is still online wvvvv-gate-io.com. I cant believe that they thought using wvvvv instead of www wouldnt raise suspicions. Hided owner information by the usual means: https://who.is/whois/wvvvv-gate-io.com. A simple email to cloudfare Contact Privacy Inc. or to host.io https://host.io/wvvvv-gate-io.com should remove them.

here google has the biggest responsibility. Domain wvvvv-gate-io.com is registered on Google domain registrar, also they can solve the whole thing. or give up advertising money from these scammers.
as far as I know, they do not use anonymous payment methods, so finding (real) domain owners should not be a big problem for them.

its always like that google can filter all the phising site that's why in some big website there's notification alert to make sure the website is real including https and the name itself and it not stop on websiter there also bunch of fake app on google play store as well including sollet (solana wallet) that sollet itself says dont make mobile app. sometimes it can be more tricky like biinance.com we have double i or other character we might not notice it

so
1. Beware and always double check
2. Bookmark the site
3. Dont click if there any short link from strange people with scammy looks Cheesy

I suggest better report them right away before someone falls into this trap.

Try to report it here https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en

And about the ads, I think you need to report it directly to AdWords to take down the phishing site on their ads.
You can try to report it here "Report an Ad"

Scam sites that being advertised by Google ads is been known since age, it actually makes bookmarking a site and/or using an AdBlock is really such a no-brainer. I do personally bookmark every site that I deem essential and also using password manager addon like Bitwarden help me a lot, so I can know/verify the site that it's the legitimate one since it has a bookmarked icon and also the password addon recognized the site since I have a credential in it.
