Don't the Zucc just outright buy emerging competitors before they even become big enough? There's very little alternative to these staunchly "progressive"companies at this point. It'll take more than a scandal or boycott to break them up.

Yep - he did that with Instagram and Whatsapp. While I dislike the guy, it is certainly a powerful strategy to retain the top spot in social media networks. Once you have mastered a particular art (in this case running social networks) then you start to become an expert in the real value and can afford to outbid your competitors in that market.

It's really reminiscent of the Rockefellers and AT&T before the government stepped in. Left to their own companies eventually form a monopoly as they grow too big, unless something disruptive they haven't prepared for arises (like how online shopping killed off Sears, etc.)

I dislike him mostly coz of that landgrabbing issue in Hawaii.

As long as they don't use each other from their private little San Fran club against other new tech to flourish, once you've decided to move away from them and use other services. Example: Patreon Vs SubscribeStar (Sargon of Akkad's debacle). Example: Alex Jones being shut down from all platforms withing 24 hrs. Example: Mastercard going after conservatives.

Tim Pool is now what used to be the old school progressives. I use him, not as someone I agree with, but as an example of how far gone and insane the progressives have become today. Destroy Tim Pool. Protect Facebook.

I agree with him on the fundamentals of free speech and censorship but I think some of his opinions are misguided.  The first amendment applies to the US congress and not private companies like Google or Facebook and tbh the only way to make it apply to them would be for them to be state owned. I'm sure you can appreciate the problems that would come along if that was the case.

Point being, Google, Facebook and all the others have the right to deny access to their platform as they see fit.  That's not to say that I think they should, only that they legally can.

I don't really see how it can be stopped other than by boycotting their services.
