Hum actually I meant like storage in terms of hard disc space. I have a few discs with a few TB of space that I never use and was thinking how to monetize it  - offer hosting of files for others. I heard of Filecoin and SIA but not sure if that works. Do you have any experience with that?

Ah now i get you. No Idea about that though, sorry.

Just wanted to doible down on Cloud Mining - STAY AWAY from it. Lost a lot of money last year. Scam operations Smiley

What do you mean Cloud Mining? Is this a company or a way/procedure to mine? I'm curious now, what kind of scam operations are you talking about? Wouldn't want to get mixed into anything Smiley

Cloud mining shitty option which is in between the legit way of investment and earning options with the multiple types of miners. There are many cloud mining sites still operating but none of the site gives best out for the investors and many scam attempt complaints on them.
If have this your idea, you just forgot your investment and make timepass with the some cloud sites.
Please choose any ASIC miner to start the mining career to shine in it.

Cloud mining= you dont own the equipment. Someone has it setup already and you pay them to mine a certain crypto on your behalf.
The equipment is not in your house, garage etc. but off-site (could be anywhere around the globe).
Scams happen when you pay them to mine on your behalf but they never deliver (or change the terms of the service after you pay them-this has happened to me  Angry).
They also have maintenance fees associated depending on the coin you ask them to mine.

Genesis mining is one of the bigger players in this market. research their website to get a better understanding.

I have heard that the term used to rent out storage (as opposed to processing poser) is farming (as opposed to mining).

Can you suggest any good "farming" marketplaces where people sell/buy their storage spaces?

You must be referring to "cloud mining" where you no longer need to setup, configure, or manage any miners because a company does it for you and in exchange you just pay them for a fixed amount of time. Just be careful because there are lots of cloud mining websites out there that are scams.

Do you mean like renting out my garage for example to miners?

Are you looking for hosting space?  Like a data center that will accept your rigs?
