In general, you are wrong. There are several great faucet sites[1] which have pretty low withdrawal thereshold. I haven't heard of any faucet running off though. True that they pay pretty low but they are a great way for newbies to learn about how Bitcoin functions without investing or posting on the forum.

Coinbase and Circle I believe are more based on US. You will want to find one for your region. I'm sure someone will post a good on for Europe.

But most likely you will need to use a checking account to link to the exchange. Yes they will know who you are.

There are some options such as localbitcoin's for those that for some reason don't want to be known, but it has higher fee's and risks.

Faucet is a good start for someone who new on bitcoin. WHen I'm new on bitcoin, and I received my first faucet, I was very happy.
So it keep attract me to stick on bitcoin till now....

There are hundreds of faucets out there. Some are valuable the time you spend, some are not.
Many of them are already empty.
I recommend to use a faucet rotater like http://www.btcfaucetlist.net/rotator.php to start.

A faucet pays you few satoshis as a reward for you to solve some captchas and this varies with different websites.

Whereas a wallet is completely different, it is same as your personal locker where you store and save and keep your money, the wallet contains your private key as well and they store and save your bitcoins, there are number of wallets to choose from according to which it is more convenient for you to use https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

For the first part what is your country you live in? Depending on country will make a big difference who you want to use.

For example if in US you can set up a checking account to work with coinbase and its very slick.

This is definitely true. Newbies who use faucets should understand that faucets are not a good way to get BTC. If you want to play around with faucets for the experience, then there's no problem with that. I did the exact same thing myself. But in any other setting, spending a whole day clicking on faucets just to make 10 cents is a terrible use of one's time.

There are ways to get more significant amounts of BTC from faucet sites however. If you happen to own a successful and highly popular faucet such as Freebitco.in then you would get a lot of money from advertising revenue. Or if you own a successful blog or website then you can add an affiliate link and get a steady stream of BTC from referrals. But these options are probably beyond the reach of most newbies.

If you want to earn money through faucets, I suggest you overlook it and instead try to offer services, or sell digital goods, which can earn you much more money than what a faucet pays you. Moreover, even if are thinking of starting a faucet, try to do some research because if you're thinking that starting a faucet and getting 1k visitors a day, and then selling advertisers will make your money back, people are not interested in buying ads on faucets, or they pay extremely low.

Create your own personal wallet at blockchain.info So you will see your wallet btc address that looks like a rumbled letters that start at 1. you can use that address to get few satoshis from faucets. some faucet pays to faucetbox, in faucetbox, your earnings will be accumulated until it reach your payout threshold. After you reach your payout threshold it will be sent to your blockchain wallet and you can now spend your coins anywhere you want

I haven't used FaucetBOX but I've used Microwallet.org and Bitchest.me and if they are any similar, then what happens is you submit your normal Bitcoin address to the faucet. The faucet then sends satoshis (typically a few hundred satoshis) to Faucetbox. The reason why it can't send these satoshis directly to you is because the Bitcoin network enforces a minimum transaction size of 5,430 satoshis. Instead, by entering your normal address on Faucetbox, you can see how many coins were sent to your account from the various faucets that you used. After Faucetbox collects enough satoshis from these faucets for a proper transaction to happen (typically 5,430 satoshis but this might be changed to a higher limit), it will finally send these satoshis to your actual Bitcoin wallet.

Faucet and wallet is different thing. First thing you must do for earn some btc is create a wallet you can choose here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet you can use blockchain.info for begin, but my advice is dont store big amount there, you can choose electrum wallet.
And faucet is place where you can earn tiny of bitcoin.

a faucet is a homepage that "pays" you a very small amount for solving captchas and watching/clicking ads.
A wallet is a program or service that handles your private keys. You need the private keys to spend your bitcoin.

Some wallets automatically set up a mircowallet for you to send your funds to without paying fees. I would not advise use those wallets though.

You can use as many faucets as there are and you can certainly create your own faucets as long as you can pay for the server and the bitcoin you would be giving away. Wallets are typically free, thus you can create as many as you want, yes.
