Faucet is never a thing I consider useless. Anyway, on topic, it is sad to know that FaucetBox decided to close their API and microwallet services. I believe that another will be emerging from the faucet industry soon. I guess I really have to work hard on my FreeBitcoinLottery.xyz API as it currently only have open-source script for FaucetBox integration.

Faucets can't be and actually are not useless in fact in some of the cases they attract newbies to bitcoin and they a good source to earn a few satoshi in your free time. As far the news of faucetbox shutting down is concerned I'm sad cuz again that's a good service

I think faucets can't end too and they won't.

Don't forget there is xapo faucets that will continue running which i don't appreciate personally in addition to epay & paytoshi
Was here when a famous site closed too and faucetbox passed to be the number 1, now it is the turn of another site to take the lead  Sad

I had been introduced into bitcoin with faucets, and its micropayments, sure the rewards were bigger and easy to collect few satoshis, now there are several faucets, opening and closing its a mess, some keep playing but in the general i do believe we still need faucets, to let others know micro transactions, and nothing better then faucets for such, faucetbox were the best handling faucets, i do hope this doesnt become the end of faucets.

I think faucets can't end too and they won't. Look FaucetHub new micro payment system thread here on Micro Earnings section for more informations. It will be a good experience for us that like micro earnings with faucets. The rewards won't be so good as before, but we will have the opportunity to continue using this system to make some satoshis.

I am sad to see FaucetBOX closing, as it was one of the ways I earned Satoshi, when I used to visit different faucet sites. I would not say that faucets are completely useless, since it is a great tool for people who are starting out learning how to use Bitcoin and trying to get their first cryptocurrency. There will be other competitors similar to FaucetBOX that will take its place, as long as there is demand from faucet sites to make payments easy and securely.

Good! Finally. Faucets re generally useless for crypto economy and all we get is being hunted by these referral hunters to click here and there. Pointless.

Faucets didn't start as being useless for the crypto community! But many seem to have become more profit / revenue focused and less crypto focused
Yep, faucets were VERY helpfull to community in earlier days. Anybody could get a little bit of bitcoins and learn to use it by practice (best learning).
Now? They are useless, fees are so high that u would need to use faucets for weeks to pay only fee....

Cool. I agree with some guys here, faucets are useless in my opinion. Reward is so low that you must come every 5 minutes and wank the damn button in order to get little bit of BTC after days and days... If it was profitable for faucetbox they wouldn't close.

Sad to see someone this big closing it's doors, many other industries have similar circumstances (big Internet companies closing, etc.)

In all respect there are dozens of paying faucets which are reputable, despite this it will take a lot of time to get anything out of them in order to stockpile money.

Nowadays there are mobile apps that have faucet scripts or GPT function... Blockchaingames are a popular example. Most of these apps are reserved to Android OS though, but Apple has quite a few popping up now as well.

I think its old news and few alternative are already poping out, but don't know how running faucetbox have been loss for its owner because there were lots of faucet owners who have used faucetbox script and they may have earned good amount of bitcoin with fees on deposits.

Faucets were a nice way to get a couple of mbtc when one bitcoin was only worth about 120 dollars 3 years ago and I am sure they were even more effective and useful when
BTC was even lower than 120. But, as bitcoin is sky rocketing, few people waste their time with faucets, so that is why lot of faucets are closing.

Besides, GPT sites for bitcoin are way better now, I can earn at least 1 dollar a day if I answer a couple of surveys, but in my case it is because I live in a country that has lots of online surveys, it might not work for small countries.

well actually faucets are not useless , it can be very helpful especially for the newbie who are willing to know how to earn some satoshi and because of that they are more likely to find other way of earning and some of them ended up having lots of knowledge about it . but you have a point , i am also annoyed to those referral hunters Grin and most of the time they are spamming .

I think you are just trying to promote your video for quick link to their announcement page here is link https://faucetbox.com/en/closing
There are few alternative like epay and seems like few clones of faucetbox are also in development to grab this opportunity.
