I've not seen any of his earlier films. They look cheesy though.

And his horror movies are IMO best ever

Yes me to, my first Peter Jackson movie was Braindead actually. And yes they are not scary, they are "comedy horror", like "Shaun of the Dead", or should I say that "Shaun of the Dead" is "Braindead" style lol (with less gore though)
I think Braindead is completely different to Shaunof the Dead, but maybe it's just how dated Jackson's one is.
