Not you again. Who is paying you for constantly posting this kind of things?
Proudhon is a comedy genius, it has been confirmed by sources.

This. The "confirmed chinese and russian language sources" (as if there isn't a multi-billion market cap to incentivize any translations whatsoever) is a dead giveaway and is one of his most frequent point.

I mean, imagine if we really did live in a world where major economic news affecting a multi-billion dollar market STAYED in only 2 languages and was never translated. Lol!

The wording of his posts is also pretty clear. But I bet the real bears love him!

What if they sell just wallet.dat without passphase, that would get on all first page news Smiley
[...] what if they launch the usb stick with bitcoins on it into space?

I would spend the rest of my life inventing a spaceship to retrieve it.

what if they print it on a billboard? what if they say the private key out loud on a radio show? what if they launch the usb stick with bitcoins on it into space? oh how many possibilities of doing something stupid and illogical my head explodes.

This really is terrible news, and gives us all more reason to think that 2014 is the year of the end of bitcoin as confirmed by bad news sources.  I'm sad to say that I forgot to post this in the bad news thread when we all found out about it at the end of October 2013.  Help me inform current and potential bitcoin users of the dismal state of bitcoin in 2014 and beyond by posting this in the bad news thread, so that people can quickly see all of the worst news about bitcoin.  Thank you for your help.

So much FUD... This was known for over 2 months, and those 144k coins are not going on auction anytime soon.
But the 30k coins that belonged to SR customers and were forfeited are going to be auctioned.
I checked the US Marshals site today (auctions section), and there was no mention of bitcoins being auctioned.
I'll keep checking daily. If someone has another idea about how the 30k coins are going to be auctioned, please share.

Isn't 144,000 mentioned in the bible somewhere? Must have been a reference to bitcoin and the apocalypse.

Bible is the ultimate source of knowledge. Plz add to your thread, proudhon.

people were speculating on what would happen to the price on the 30k now there is an extra 144k. seems they are smart enough not to dump it all. This could "legitimize the currency" as mentioned. The best bet would be to make purchases and then convert to fiat. Buy 10 14m dollar mansions in bitcoin than auction those off.
