It's not the same, Litecoin was different maybe some didn't see the differences as big enough but it was different. Back than you could only mine it with a cpu, and we thought it was gpu proof, now it seems that it is asics proof. What the future may bring we can only guess.

Feathercoin is a copy of Litecoin, no differences at all, whatever scenario you think of, nowhere in the future will Feathercoin have anything that differentiate it from Litecoin. So you can't compare the 2 situations.

Litecoin was a copy too, it wasn't innovative, even assuming switching hash counts as innovative. It was only helped by the screwups of tenebrix.

*wonders if 2 years from now there will be a topic named "Aircoin - FC was judged the same way" and my post under it*  Tongue

I doubt you would need to wait 2 years this time around  Wink

Sunny, it's a shame people on BTC-e pump and dump your coin as much as it does... personally, I like your contribution to the community.

Yep I had stumbled across that post... I like the idea of more scrypt coins at the moment...

Feathercoin Community,

After listening to the barrage of 'Feathercoin is a worthless coin' type nonsense, I did a little digging. It's funny, Litecoin was treated no different on it's release. I find this one particularly interesting:

So you didn't get in early enough on bitcoin? what is the point of this? At least some of the other currencies tried to do something different.

With a little hope, a little prayer, and a lot of hype due to our innovative release,

faster transactions and scrypt is innovative?

lemme hit you with a big ol book called a dictionary:

innovative [ˈɪnəˌveɪtɪv]
adj
using or showing new methods, ideas, etc." - Etlase2

---

Sound familiar? This is by no means a 'knock' against Etlase.. the response is just to illustrate a point. There's always someone that's not going to like your direction, oh well. Smiley

If you find a reason to participate in the Feathercoin community, maybe others you know will find a reason too.  Find the passion, contribute to the success of everyone involved... grass roots babieee!  Excited about seeing what projects come out of this community, I've had the opportunity to already correspond with some fantastic people.. look forward to seeing where 2013 takes us!
