Feature Request: Must have Minimum activity / posting history to create topics

I am generally against.

Boards like Meta, Scam accusations and others like Off-topic, Beginners & Help and so on should allow brand new members to create topics.
If the restriction is placed solely on the speculation board, what stops someone from creating a thread elsewhere and moving it to the speculations board?

A newbie already got enough restrictions if you ask me.

I think preventing "it" from creating threads will only make "it" spam some threads like the wall observer thread and disturb discussions instead. Which, I think, will make it harder to moderate and not less annoying.

I agree with this. I guess it all comes down to supporting sig spammers.

This(or variations of it) has been suggested before. While it's not a bad idea, it will just make it harder for the spammers(having to farm/buy an account) but OTOH detecting thos accounts will be harder.

How so? And can you specify what "it" is instead of just wrapping it in quotations?

You'd know what I'm referring to if you occasionally go to the speculation board. "It" is an entity who's been spamming that board every day and the reason why OP created this thread in the first place.

IIRC, this feature was already requested in the past and, although I'm not quite certain, I believe it wasn't exactly accepted.

This post belongs in meta, not speculation.

I think the shills pay the site owner to be able to spam those threads.  The stipulation is they can only post in speculation and not other forums.

I am certainly not denying that possibility!

The other day I saw some kind of trust meter by my name. But I don't see it on my iPad. That seemed interesting. Happen to know what's up with that?

At the very least, this should be required for the speculation forum. I know it won't entirely remove trolls and shills, but the amount of "QUICK! PANIC SELL!" threads by newbie accounts are super annoying, especially now that supply issuance is about to be cut in half for the 2nd time in btc history and the first time in 4 years. Trolling activity is heating up
