Not at all this dip means even the price of altcoins will fall and whenever that happens i always panic because most of my funds are in trading and whenever something has happened to the price of bitcoin in past it had direct affect on poor altcoins which means more loss for me

if it goes parabolic for too long, then I feel it makes take longer to recover in the longer term after the correction. This kind of dip or down, makes me think we have not see an all time high yet, and that the price has a higher floor.

Its true if it goes to parabolic, it will take enough time to recover. On the other hands it can increase the number of buyer. People may start buying more BTC and hold them long for sure. But can give no profit to Seller. On my point of view it can decrease the number of sellers because nobody want to lose money.

day is very relevant for those who want to develop in the world of crypto-currencies. But even new users will be able to buy Bitcoin at a low price, and then trade coins or store up to the next maximum peak. I think that I need to take a negative look at the current situation with the drop in prices for Bitcoin.

A long term recovery doesn't bother me. I plan to hold long term any way. A gradual increase is probably more healthy for Bitcoin because there will be less volatility if that happens.

Even if it takes a year to get back to $5000, that will still be a good percentage increase if you look back a couple of years. The only bad thing about a slow gradual increase with fewer fluctuations is that trading is almost impossible. You need ups and downs to make money trading. If you don't have that, you would need to just buy and hold.

Not enjoying the dump (it's not a dip, this is a full blown dump). The only tiny positive for me is that I'll probably try & load up again with any spare fiat I can muster up if it goes below $2,500.

I think the $2500 is very low price, the price will not drop below that for considerable time. I will start buying when the price is below $3000.
Very low price in this month but it does not mean will be bottom price in next month! The bottom price in September can be highest price in October, it very normal if Bitcoin changes to bearish trend.
Yep, it's very much possible that we will see a chain of red months. Bitcoin has made a strong bull run for the past 2 years and now it's about time to recover a little bit. We all know parabolic isn't sustainable in the long run so the 'dip' we're seeing here is 100% healthy so I'm happy to see that.

Here's the REAL question - if the Chinese government DOES try to ban Bitcoin (which has been rumored by a few places over "capitol flight" and "funding illegal activity" worries), what happens to Bitmain BW.com and the other miner manufacturers in China?
Innosilicon can just revert to their pre-mining semiconductor house status, but most of the rest don't HAVE a fallback position....

They are businesses, so they can easily just set up operations abroad - Chinese businesses are allowed to have overseas subsidiaries.

the only thing I want to see when the price goes down is the altcoin price increase. but, perhaps, this decline does not have much effect on altcoin, in fact some of the price of altcoin is down. well, but I still always monitor the price.

It's both a dump and a dip, because the price has dropped quickly, around 25-30% in one day, but it also recovered to a new level, which is lower than the previous stable $4,300-4,500 zone, but still higher than where we were before the start of this SegWit rally. Right now the market is very uncertain, because the price might return to the growth trend, or may drop further. Right now there seem to be many interested parties, and we have all kinds of rumors and news every day - some parties want to embrace Bitcoin, others want to regulate and restrict it, some even call it  a "fraud". But whatever is happening, Bitcoin is getting attention, and it's good, because more people will be joining the market soon.

3800 seems to be pretty strong as for now, let's see what comes next - 4400 + or another dip to 3300 ?

Unless relieving news come from China best scenario is dead cat bounce to about 4000$ ( max. ) and price between 3400-3800$ for the rest of week.
Very bad news can drive the price down to about 3000$ though.

imho

The funny and sad thing is, the news doesn't even have to be confirmed/legitimate for it to affect the price. It's pretty obvious how much ignorant people are invested into bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. They just read a negative post of bitcoin from Wall Street Journal then BOOM. People start selling without even thinking twice if the news is legit or not. A perfect example of this is Charlie Lee's tweet spreading FUD.

All 4 of the major Chinese Exchanges ANNOUNCING that they are "shutting down all trading operations" over the next month and a half seems to be strong confirmation to me of some sort of issue in China.

On the other hand, there is one rumor that it might be some sort of "licensing issue", or just more regulatory crackdown on the part of the Chinese Government trying to stop "capital flight" instead of them being willing to make the STRUCTURAL CHANGES they need to make to fix the long-running issues in their economy.

Of course, most of those "structural changes" would make it likely that the hold on power by the Chinese Government would end fairly quickly....

It's confirmed enough that BTC China has announced they are shutting down ALL operations by September 30.

I won't be shocked to see $2000 - but I'm not really expecting Bitcoin to dump quite THAT far.

with this sort of dip, I see the possibility of a 10K in the near future
Bitcoin can reaches to $10,000 target if the price of it does not drop bellow $3,000 in long time, because it will make the momentum of Bitcoin created earlier from earlier this year will be broken.
Unfortunately it is nearly $3000 now and it might realy get too dip and will be hard for it to recover for long. Will just keep my btc on it and will wait when it will be possible to increase again even it takes forever.

It's too fast on dipping that means a too fast on increase too. It should be the effect of its dump. A great increase in the future. Once btc recovered from the Chinese issue everything will be back to normal.

I guess they were right for calling the $3.3k value like more way below than that, its blood on the streets. Gotta buy in the deeps who knows when this regulation fear dies off.
Yes buy on the deep while the price is cheap. But you know we cant tell when is the time that price will be high again. It is the matter of taking a risks in buying the btc or never.

Yeah. I'm not feeling bad whatsoever about this dip.  These are
healthy for the market, if not for newbies' sanity.  You have to
keep things in perspective.  The price was sub-$1000 not all that
long ago, so bitcoin has grown a lot in a very short time.  Too
much growth, too fast isn't healthy.
When it increase too fast,it easily decreased too like what's happening now, i thought once it touched $4k it will never fall back into it but it does dipper. So it's better a slow increase

Bitcoin may recover to $5000 in the next month, do not worry about it.
Most people who have sold their bitcoins are looking for a new cheap entry point to buy back more coins, after bitcoin reach the bottom, it will start to rebound again, it's a game of time. Whoever could sell at highest point and buy back at the lowest dip will have huge profits obviously.
I was not worries regarding fall down of bitcoin price because I believe that before end of this September month, bitcoin price was recover. Even though value of this coin is declining I already support it because I believe to their potential.

To be honest I'm starting to worry about seeing the current bitcoin prices, because bitcoin prices have continued to drop significantly in the last few days, I hope this does not last long.
Many have been worried with the current price that continues to drop. Im also worried but I think and hope that price will rise again. If I sell now I would be more suffer of losing instead I just calm and wait to rise its value again.
I think the price of bitcoin will not increase big but it can be increase increase few and reach back $4k value the price from okcoin is $3,818 so i think thisi s the final wave of the price of bitcoin.. and i think the price of bitcoin can increase soon a little and hit back to $4,000
For now better to buy more bitcoin because this is the last time that we can buy a cheap price of bitcoin again.. This is also happening from the past they bitcoin are always having some crisis but it will be increase back again and the price can be increase more than $4k remember from last year when blockhalving and the pork in august 1 the price was increase after the events..

Given that the current dump is based on widespread rumours of China banning bitcoin exchanges in their countries, and on a STATEMENT by a "voluntary group" associated with those regulators that "bitcoin exchanges have no legal basis for existance", I suspect the current "dip" is going to get a LOT WORSE before it starts recovering.

dunno about you but i dont like losing money..
If you dont like on losing money or going down investments then bitcoin isnt really for you because we all know here that prices do really dips and price corrections do really happen. If its parabolic as being said recovery might really be seen soon and would takes time to recover but instead of worrying better to see this as an golden opportunity to buy more cheaper coins and be ready on the new ATH later on.Patience is a must on this kind of investment.
Yes I agree the current dip shouldn't be disheartening, it should be taken as an opportunity to buy more bitcoins and hold the already acquired ones. We have already experienced something similar in the past and bitcoin will reach a new ATH price soon. Just keep patience.

You are saying and speaking like a professional! Many people do not understand the technicality of illiquid assets markets and because of this most of them lose heavy amount of money every time assets like bitcoin price take them unaware.  The further we go down the more expectations raise that bitcoin will break the next resistance after a correction. You should be patient with the market and allow the market to reconcile itself from a fall.

Down to $3700 now. It didn't hold at $3800 so let see how the market react. I don't know if we hit at lot $3300 though. I'm optimistic that $3600 will be the floor. On second thought, this is really a perfect time to buy while its still down at the moment. We all know that this panic sell will not last and just be temporary and we may touch $5000 again who knows. But we must face the challenge today and see how investors would react. As other feel good seeing this dip because they can now come and they will be the fortunate one because once everything settles down and hit ATH is gonna be huge profit.
It will tpuch $5k again but it will take time, I will just buy some when I got my salary than to regret not cashing it out early. Will not be looking on the price for this month.
Yeah, you do not need to check the price of Bitcoin everyday, it just waste your time while you can spend this time for earn extra Bitcoin.
The price of Bitcoin cannot increases or decreases forever, it depends the supply and demand on the market.

I see that perspective for but this time waa very bad for me since I was going to sell now for some reasons but really don't know what to do. Maybe I have to hold it for some years and don't use that saved money for my needs. Don't like this fall but it seems like you said we will see a big high again but I am afraid it won't happen in near future, it will be after next halving and will reach more than 10 000$, I believe this.

What might be a little unfortunate for the further developement is that the newcomers who bought high and sell now low will not come back.
They will leave with a negative impression of the crypto currency world, and they will share that impression with their friends.
That kind of bad publicity will need soem time to get out of the peoples heads.
Personally I am countig on businesses and banks to enter bitcoin in the near future. They don't get scared so easily.

Most of the people complaining about the declining price are likely those who bought at the top, or very close to it. It is like these people were thinking that despite the major surge of the last months the market would continue to gain value. If we look at previous rallies, all of them have resulted in a sharp decline afterwards. If the market reaches a point where people aren't willing to pay top dollar for Bitcoin, the price will come down as natural result. It's all about supply and demand.

I feel the same way. As long as BTC quickly corrects any larger growth spurts we're within a healthy market. Even if this really marks the beginning of a new bear market, as long as BTC doesn't deflate as dramatically as it used to it's definitely an improvement over previous market corrections. A stable market is a good market and unfortunately corrections are needed for improved market stability.

dunno about you but i dont like losing money..

Pull yourself together. When you bought into BTC you should have been fully aware that corrections happen and prolonged bear markets may occur. You only lose money once you sell. If you invested more than you could afford to lose get out with what you need until you reach an investment level that you feel psychologically able to hold for a couple years should things turn south.

if it goes parabolic for too long, then I feel it makes take longer to recover in the longer term after the correction. This kind of dip or down, makes me think we have not see an all time high yet, and that the price has a higher floor.

If you look at the logarithmic chart, the price was not bubbled, and it could have sustained an increase to $6000 before it went for a correction. What we are seeing is weak hands being shaken as noobs panic sell due the Chinese+JP Morgan nonsensical FUD.

Once these weak hands are shaken, we will recover. My only worry when it comes to fundamentals for Bitcoin, is the segwit2x stupid hardfork by stupid Jeff Garzik in november, that could crash the market for a while, but after we get 0.15 and everyone updates their nodes, it will be the nail in the coffin for segwit2x and we will go to ATH.

dunno about you but i dont like losing money..

You don't lose if you HODL

On the long term we are still bullish, right. Keep calm, carry on.

Those are just market moves. People selling lended money, perhaps. I would not have the nerves to do that.
Only a fatal accident would turn the paper. Next critical pathpoint could be the further development of the Segwit2x agreement. Any player acting defect over there could bring real misery.

Bitcoin will always dip up and down. Like in anything real in this world, it will have its good and bad days. However, I think we can certainly expect lots more from Bitccoin's price in the near future. It looks like Bitcoin is falling again and is currently @3900 USD as of this moment.

We should still be able to see the price grow back in a matter of days, if not hours.

I know the dip is just for a time being I hope it won't turn into any sort of a parabolic  but today I am a little disappointed with the bitcoin price as I am in need of cash and I want to change a little of my holdings into fiat. As it's at the same time and opportunity for the buyers because currently bitcoin price is less than $4k. I can wait for two working days only to sell my bitcoin, let's see what happens to the price in the next two days if it remains lower than  $4000 then I am not sure I am gonna sell my bitcoin. If it goes higher then I will be delighted. To those who are looking to buy bitcoin it's the right time, it seems like bitcoin is gonna recover it's price soon giving you people a handsome amount of profit.

Every dip is an opportunity to buy at a cheaper price and people who are interested to enter Bitcoin or add more on their arsenal have much better opportunity right now. Days or weeks after there is a big possibility that Bitcoin can rise again and then the profits will start trickling in. Those who have the plan to hold long-term should decide now whether it is time to be a part of the Bitcoin bandwagon as the time has come. Those rumors about China are still the alibi why the market is on the dumping mood and am already tired of that...hope that by next week the market would choose to ignore this China thing.

But i don't know why it seems the chart will be so difficult to rebound, as far as i know a lot of sides are attacking the bitcoin and all of the crypto anytime in this moment, I should believe about the big dip will be happened as soon as possible.

Try Margin trade.

2013 aftermath has been painted mostly by BTCe selling bitcoin enthusiast their former Mt.Gox coins. Since that bussiness has slowed down somewhat, protagonists lodging in a correctional facility, the market corrections are more looking like smallish dips in a bullish chart these days.
Golden opportunity instead of worrying. About China banning Bitcoin? China invented Bitcoin mining... rumors are goverment backing up those farms.

Clarity still hasn't been given about Chinese exchanges: when that comes in, and China will indeed ban free trade of BTC, you can rest assured the market will move more violently. Why would you still mine Bitcoins if you cannot pay for your electricity bills? A mining conglomerate however could sign the BTC's still in their possession on foreign exchanges, and the same goes for large holders of BTC in China. You won't be able to get it into China easily, but at least you will have gotten USD's for it.

Mind you: this might very well happen in the next days, weeks and months.

An asset cannot appreciate forever, and I think BTC already reached  its peak. The charts are starting to show clear signs of saturation and start pointing out to a late 2013/early 2014 like scenario.  I cannot exclude the possibility of Bitcoin rising to new highs though, but I consider it to be especially unlikely at this point. In the world of crypto that means one thing: down we go. Up to 80% in the worst case, spread out of months and years.

Longer and bigger the pumps(and the bubble) goes for, the bigger the task of recovery is going to be. I think that is something that everyone can agree on. The dump is going to be much bigger as well, if the price was too high for too long.

I would really rather see bitcoin at a more modest level that it belongs to like $2k-3k, than $4k+ which i feel the price is artificially high and could be dumped at any time.

Though this panic dump is not likely to be the last... A recovery should be underway soon taking btc to newer heights, before a big dump.

Well said. I actually think that bitcoin is going to recover much quicker if the dump happened quicker as well.

However the correction that we are currently seeing is based off FUD and probably will not be the last dump that we see. it is much more likely that we see a recovery back up to $4500+ and potentially reach another all time high.

But you're absolutely right. The longer the bubble goes for, the longer the recovery is going to be.

I hope this wont go parabolic because you are right that if it does, it will take a longer time to recover. Even if that is the case, I feel happy about this because this is yet another good opportunity of buying cheap bitcoins. Also these current dip hints that there will probably be another one soon so it will be a better opportunity to buy again. I expect price to go down more until september ends and we will see bullish market again probably by next month.
