You need to let your inputs age, and if they are small inputs, even if they are years old, they will still require a high fee. It's part of the anti-spam feature of bitcoin (to discourage small inputs) - bitcoin isn't really designed for microtransactions no matter what people claim.

The mind is everything. What you think you become.
Hi,

I have to make 4 payments of 2.1BTC each from my Multibit Bitcoin wallet.
The first payment had a 0.08$ fee, second 0.31$.
I haven't made the third one but it is asking 0.51$.

Why fees are increasing after each transaction?
I waited hours and even a day and see if it decreases again but it is not..

Any advice to get lower fees?
have you try to modified your amount of bitcoin?try to send it from small amount, honestly i'm not multibit user, and never use that wallet.
i never find any big fees when i used blockchain or coinbase, but my friends who use multibit, look like never complaint about fees.

That's surely because the money isn't received from one single transaction. When you receive your money in different transactions, they need to be merged and it costs more.

Which wallet are you using Classic or HD ? If it's HD then are you sure you are not increasing the donation slider or something ? because as far as I know you can donate to Multibit when you are making transactions .

I am using Multibit Classic 0.5.18 (pretty old version).

Fees can be differant because of the previous transactions of them coins.  for example if you send 1btc that you received as 1btc from someone else then it just passes straight over.  but if for example you want to send 1 btc and it is made up from 2000 visits to a faucet then i think that is why it costs more. that bitcoin is made up of alot more transactions.  thats my understanding anyway, hope this helps.  Grin
