High Japanese quality would likely mean nice acceptance of a Sony hardware wallet. And the Japanese know how to produce in great quantity, that alone would (probably) help push down the price of BTC hardware wallets.
Let's see if Korea's Samsung Electronics jumps into that space too. If Samsung and Japan start mass production, that would be a very good sign that heavy-hitters think that BTC will be big.
I've always wondered why Samsung never jumped into the Bitcoin mining machine market... It *seems* like they would crush all the smaller manufacturers.
Samsung is focusing on others priorities and mining machine is not enough big for an empire like samsung. Unless it's not mainstream, they are not going to expand in this niche. A mass production could be very good, but there is not a market enough big to start a mass production
Have you ever considered a LedgerWallet? The cheapest is ~70€ (But to store 300$ it is still useless I admit)
