Is it your website? I think it would be interesting to know how many bitcoins are sold too in order to get a feeling if the people go in or out of bitcoin at the moment. At the moment it looks like it dont care about bitcoins sales. So every trade of buying and selling and buying bitcoins will show more bitcoins bought than in reality were bought at the end of the time.

When will we see a Android Wallpaper? I would like to see all these bitcoins fly on my HTC... *g*

Is here: http://fiatleak.dyndns.org/

By the way, I've seen this in many domains lately with different branding, anyone knows what's the source?

People ripping off his awesome concept, pretty standard really.

Anyway, Fiatleak going nuts lately as to BTC flying into China.  I see 10+ bitcoin TX in groups of 5, 7, etc so literally 1000s of bitcoins being bought in terms of Yuan??

Anyway, awesome site!  I am hearing the gong a lot these past few days.  I think as US Treasuries are dumped, the gong will be ringing a lot!

cool!
I thought of a drinking game, put the setting to when 10 bitcoin a second are sold make a sound, when a sound is made everybody must drink.

On a busy day you would've been drunk in just 10 min. Few days ago I had it set for >40 and it was annoying. Weekends are usually quiet.

Quickly could somebody explain where the Bitcoin is 'leaking' to?

Leaking to every slit and chink out there... Or maybe, to every Chink, wtf?

I thought the site was "fiat leak", not bitcoin leak.

Just a heads up, this site causes a memory leak in Chrome & Opera... Im not sure about others. But yeah... caused insane amount of VM usage over time.
Had the same here with firefox on linux, shame because it seemed fairly light at first.

Yup, causes a crash on Chrome for Android as well as the leak. Looks great though.

This memory leak has been fixed, sorry for my mistake in not knowing the kinetic.js library well enough.

Here is a screenshot of Chrome's memory heap tool where I have taken snapshots over time as the data fills across the map.

https://i.imgur.com/2kBKOAm.png

The first heap snapshot was 11.2MB immediately when I opened the site.

As the plot of high points fills in across the map, you can see the heaps grow from snapshot 6 until they level off at snapshot 13 around 15.5MB.

With the volume of trades and extra exchanges having been recently added, the problem was become very apparent.

Thank you everyone for pointing it out.

Great website.  It seems like the US and China are the big players for sure, followed by Europe.  That might change in time.

So many heading toward China  Huh What are these Chinese upto really. Cool website by the way.

They've got something about a trillion dollars in US bonds, so it's pretty obvious what they are up to... Without much ado they are going to buy ALL bitcoins out there! Grin

This is misleading, fiat doesn't leak.
If you put USD into an exchange and buy Bitcoin someone else take the fiat. Ultimately there is the same amount of fiat.

Remember, every time you buy a Bitcoin, every time you pay with a Bitcoin, you add up to the inflation of the fiat you dismissed! Grin

What doesn't kill you only makes you sicker!
This looks great.

I'm unsure of it's value because I can't work out how it takes into consideration additional fiat into the system rather than fiat just exchanging between two people.

Pretty cool, and yeah kind of threw me off too at first with the coins not going to the center of all the countries.

Also, can the bitcoins go toward the center of the countries instead of the oceans off the east coasts?  Cool idea, though.

That's pretty awesome. Shared. Could next update have the cumulative total per country shown visually (maybe just shade the countries) instead of just the text data at the bottom?

(the scrolling "morse code" toward the bottom of the map also makes things pretty messy)
