Maybe this is the problem, because I have them installed on "D" and everything works fine. Try to reinstall. I think that these clients aren't writen right for Windows 8/8.1 yet.

I have Windows 8.1 and those clients but I haven't experienced these problems. On which partition do you have Bictoin/Litecoin installed?
So this is the problem, whenever I download and run the block explorer for bitcoin qt or litecoin QT, the file explorer for windows 8.1 freezes. Is anyone else having this problem?
