Nice one OP matagal na rin akong user ng electrum pero hindi ko pa na try na maverify tong naka install sa desktop ko pero since sa official site ko naman nadownload tong akin siguro naman safe to hehe tanong ko lang sa mga users nito may chance ba na kahit sa official site ka ngdownload pwede pa rin ma infect ng malware yun at manakaw btc natin?

Just a hint, kahit di niyo makita yung green image as verified which is posted above basta makita niyo this message alert (image below) after you click the import button and choose the .asc file which can be downloaded here https://electrum.org/#download,

This just means na you haven't manually trusted ThomasV's key, but the signatures are matching, so just do the verification with thomas.asc key para lumabas yung green message.

Also, just to add to those na di alam if how the fake electrum app looks (image below) when you try to verify the software using the instruction posted above.


Make sure na i'verify niyo muna yung downloaded electrum app before installing it.

Don't trust, verify

Good Job, Filipinos do need this kind of topic na sure silang tama ang i-download nilang electrum wallet. I’m sure yung iba tinatamad na i-verify ang signature dahil sa tingin nila tama naman ang site na pinagkunan nila, ang risk nang pagiging tamad ay losing their bitcoins.

Yes, I am using Electrum in receiving our weekly salary from Bitblender sig campaign and that's the reason I brought this topic here to let them know that it is the better and safer way in using Electrum wallet for storing bitcoin safe. Maliban nalang kung bibili ka ng trezor or Ledger nano s. yun talaga pinaka safe. Pero sa walang balak gumastos ito na yung mas safe na alam ko.

Curious ako. Are you using Electrum too? In my experience, ok na din siya. No need to downlod the whole blockchain. Saves you the time and data you will need to do it. Nakikita ko ‘to madalas sa site ng electrum, hindi lang ako sure kung pano i-verify.

Helpful talaga kung may mga ganitong posts, kahit newbies or veterans na, it would be useful to know this information. Baka makadownload ng fake na electrum or something.

Sa nakikita ko kasi mga kabayan meron na tayong ibat-ibang guide tungkol sa electrum wallet pero hindi niyo ba alam ang pag-verify nito. Sa tingin ko ito ay may malaking BENEFITS sa atin upang maiwasan ang mga ito, malware hacking at phishing or wrong/fake electrum wallet at ang masaklap ang pagkawala ng inyong coins na nilagay.

Kung kayo ay gumagamit ng Electrum wallet dapat din ito ninyong malaman para sa ating seguridad from hacking and sympre safe yung Bitcoin natin.

Para sa gumagamit ng,

WINDOWS

1) I-download at Install mo ang gpg4win na nagmula dito: https://www.gpg4win.org/get-gpg4win.html

2) Pagkatapos mong ma-download buksan mo ang Kleopatra at pindutin and Lookup on Server.

3) I-type mo 2BD5824B7F9470E6 hanapin at pindutin ang search bar.

4) Piliin ang 'ThomasV' mula sa listahan at pindutin ang Select All at huling pindut yung import.



5) Kung gusto mong makita ang green verification na mensahe sundin mo lang yung step 5.1 na nasa baba or mas maganda pindutin mo yung NO at ipagpatuloy mo yung step 6.

5.1) Para makita ang green verification na mensahe, pindutin ang YES para ma kumpirma ang certification process:



At kung wala naman kayong PGP sign, magtatanong sa iyo na lumikha ng panibago. Sundin mo lang ang wizard steps, ilagay mo ang iyong name at gmail address pagkatapos piliin mo yung tamang password pagkatapos pindutin mo yung Finish.



Piliin lahat ng ID's mula sa Certification Dialog at suriin at kung makita mo to I have verified the fingerprint pagkatapos pindutin mo yung Next at saka pagkatapos ay yung Certify na naman, at ang huli ay tanongin ka na isulat yung password din Finish.


6) Pagaktapos maari mo ng i-download yung setup file at yung signature file mula sa official site ng Electrum https://electrum.org/#download



7) Pindutin ang signature file at doon makikita ang verification at kung nakuha mo ang green na mensahe ibig sabihin ikaw ay tama at kung ang nakuha mo ay red na mensahe ibig sabihin nanganganip ka.

Palatandaan: Kung hindi mo sinagot yung 5.1 steps makakuha ka ng puti na mensahe na akala mo ay green pero ok lang yan.



Example ng maling pagka-download.
FINISH


LINUX

1) Buksan ang terminal at isulat ang:

2) Pagkatapos isulat mo ito,

Makikita niyo ang mensahe na ito,

3) I-download ang Electrum and Signature file,

4) Pwedi mo na verifle files.

At makikita niyo itong mensahe.

Kung may nakikita kang words na nagsasabi "`Good signature" ito po yung tamang version.

Pero kung ito naman,

Kapag ito ang nakita mo BAD Signature ibig sabihin mali at hindi tama ang na-download mo.


MAC

1) Install homebrew dito:  http://brew.sh/
    brew install gnupg

2) Pagkatapos install mo gnupg.

3) Tapos ito:

Makikita niyo ang mensahe na ito,

3) I-download ang Electrum and Signature file,

4) Pwedi mo na verifle files.

At makikita niyo itong mensahe.

Kung may nakikita kang words na nagsasabi "`Good signature" ito po yung tamang version.

Pero kung ito naman,
