I did not care who Satoshi was all this time as he himself did not want to reveal it before. I believed his name was Satoshi instead of Mr. Wright. Also, by posting a picture with bitcoins in the background makes no sense.

There are two possibilities: Craig IS Satoshi, and Craig is NOT Satoshi. However, I don't think any of these affect the development of bitcoin!

If Craig (Satoshi) supports Gavin supports Bitcoin Classic, will nodes and miners switch over? This is the beauty of bitcoin- you can create it, but now you can't control it!

Nailed it. What happens will depend on whether miners decide to do. Are the Chinese miners in awe of Satoshi? I don't think China came into play till 2013, long after Satoshi disappeared, so they never had anay contact with him. The blocksize thing will depend on whether the big blockers decide to start their own mining pools to mine Classic, instead of leaving it to the Chinese.

Craig is not Satoshi. If he is indeed Satoshi, instead of just blabbering about it, he could've just signed a key that belongs to Satoshi (or at least that's what we know of).
That's probably the only valid proof that we can have to know whether who the real Satoshi is. Plus, why is there the need to identify the real Satoshi? For fame? For appreciation? Probably.

But just as long as bitcoins function properly, I give my appreciation to the real creator/s of bitcoin.

Now that we know who Satoshi is, can we get him to tell Greg Maxwell and Blockstream to fuck right off and raise the blocksize immediately so we can all get back to work doing useful things rather than pissing in the wind?

So you give a shit about consensus and prefer dictatorship right?!
Even if he CSW is Satoshi, and I strongly believe he is NOT, it won't have any influence on the actual development and the path we are going.

how do we know who satoshi is now?
as far as i know and followed the news so far, there is no signed message from the known satoshi addresses. so we don't know this yet.

There are two possibilities: I AM satoshi, and I am NOT satoshi.

Same reasoning, it is not a 50/50 chance he is or is not him. If he really was satoshi, he would've signed a public message from the genesis block. No way on earth he would lose the key to that block. And at the very least he would sign a message that was made public and not only shown to one man.

Agree. The only thing he needs to do is to sign a key that we all know belongs to Satoshi- but he refused to do that. With only words from the mouths of Craig and Gavin will not convince anyone.

I'm tired of this hysteria about Satoshi Nakamoto.
What do you give it to a person? Just use it.
Moreover, there is no reliable information that it was him.

bitcoin is not a dictatorship centralized shitcoin so that one person can order others to change things even if that person is satoshi -the creator of bitcoin. everybody must get on board with this, and until it happens we are going to have this debate till the end of time.

besides, we don't yet know who satoshi is. this so far has only been a hot news about the possibility of finding who satoshi is. until a signed message is published we don't know who satoshi really is.

Craig is not Satoshi yet, as long as he don't sign a message which he hasn't done so until now. By the way this news was bad publicity to bitcoin as the price has fallen as far as I know. So this was just a story as other times, so far no real Satoshi yet.

First, I don't believe craig is satoshi, he is just someone that has gotten delusional over time trying to get his five minutes of fame. He might have the credentials that would fit a character like satoshi, but the shroud of mystery that he pulls over the "proof" is such a turn off...

Also, he only seems to be interested in getting more millions for his ventures, he doesn't care about the blocksize and stuff.

Now that we know who Satoshi is, can we get him to tell Greg Maxwell and Blockstream to fuck right off and raise the blocksize immediately so we can all get back to work doing useful things rather than pissing in the wind?

Ohyeah hope Craig listens. if he really is Satoshi, he should have the right to further develop what he had started since . A load of Dev would really be willing to help him.
it had to be resolve before his btcs loses its value.

He gave away his spot as lead developer years ago. Turning up like this does not mean he can pick up where he left. Bitcoin has evolved since he left.

I thought this idea had been dropped as being unnecessary, disruptive, and bad for bitcoin as it could lead to mining centralisation.

Some people will not step down from this and it is usually the Gavinistas crowd or the people who wants Bitcoin to fail. The Blockstream guys takes a more cautious approach towards this and I think that might be the right way to do it for now. We do not need to rush into a hard fork for no reason, and gamble with other people's money for no reason.

No need to wake the sleeping dogs. ^smile^
