I can remembered when I had my first job in texas, and I was diligently on my job, and I was always paid by cash, until I was robbed on my way home before the manager of the company called all the workers and had a meeting with us on a new method of payment, and he needed our suggestions, I suggest we should be paid by bitcoin and that's what's the best idea ever because everyone agreed with me, and I have to teach our manager on how to make use of bitcoin wallet, and he letter watch more about bitcoin on youtube, and that's was how we begin to be paid by bitcoin till date.

Congratulations to you on finally convincing your company to pay you in bitcoin and am sure you learn how to use non-custodial Bitcoin wallet to store your Bitcoin holding, if you plan to have your saving from your salary in Bitcoin. Otherwise, if your salary is small and can only cover your monthly bills that case you may use an exchange to reduce the cost of transaction fees and says exchange the salary for your local currency. But it best you, first of all, take the time to study risk management if your total monthly is 100%/in Bitcoin, it will not be a smart idea due to bitcoin volatility so to reduce the risk of losing your money, you should also try to diversify your portfolio.

Nevertheless, CBDCs will allow for governments to fully trace all your movements with a much broarder view of your doings than nowadays, becoming a massive big brother in relation to what, when and how one does what with their CBDC balance. What’s more, they could, at some point, explore radical routes such are some (usual suspects) are already exploring (nothing firm though): adding expiry dates to CBDCs.

Getting paid in bitcoin does entail privacy issues too, as the payer can track the recipient address and its related TX history. It may not reach the government’s hands, but I wouldn’t want corporate Human Resources having to snoop over what’s none of their concern. Some people will be able to do a good job of preserving their privacy through additional steps, but for the most, it’s not even a thing that will cross their mind.

What's surprising here? I don't think so - and of course your boss has the option of paying you in bitcoin as long as you both agree to the payment. Regardless of where you live, I still don't know if your country has legalized bitcoin as a means of payment, but if it is illegal then surely paying salary in bitcoin shouldn't need to be made public.

The salary payment in CBDC will not differ from the salary in fiat, as it is just another form of money. In fact, when you receive a salary in CBDC, you can also convert it to bitcoin if you wish, just like now you can convert your fiat to BTC.
Exactly, CBDC is fiat in another form. High volatility can be minimized with CBDC, so that governments can adopt it to pay salaries instead of adopting bitcoin. I'm more likely to receive CBDC as a salary although some of it I can convert to bitcoin or altcoin.

...But anyway I don't think the government is going to take much risk with bitcoin being so volatile, so I guess the final solution they are really thinking of is CBDC...

Yeah, I can see that considering that common companies should be legally registered to the respective government agencies before they operate. Knowing that the company suddenly changed their way of paying salary to something that is decentralized would surely lead to the said business shutting down if the crypto, not just Bitcoin, was not recognized as a legal tender unlike what happened to El Salvador just like you mentioned it.

Somehow it is different to those who are just having a small business for their extra income. Cheesy

We all understand that such payment in bitcoins should be settled at the enterprise so that similar situations do not arise later, regardless of whether the price of BTC will increase or decrease. But in any case, such a salary in bitcoins will be illegal, perhaps only except for El Salvador.
The government will not easily legalize bitcoin as currency, let alone to pay employees' salaries. Of course it is illegal in many countries, but the idea would be great if it were adopted.

In some countries that have legalized bitcoin such as El Salvador, they can pay employee salaries with bitcoin. But anyway I don't think the government is going to take much risk with bitcoin being so volatile, so I guess the final solution they are really thinking of is CBDC. I mean a government or a company will probably set a budget for employee salaries, so it will be difficult to manage their budget when the bitcoin price is volatile.

Hello everyone I am very excited today as finally my boss has agreed to pay in Bitcoin. After losing at my first attempt in Cryptocurrency as I thought that wealth falls like rain here I was brought back to reality with losses I got a little job on the side although a small amount paying job I think it is okay for me and I can get back on my feet.

Ever since I started working I have always been talking to my boss and coworkers about Cryptocurrency and after persisting they started to give me listening ears, I made sure to also tell them my experience and made sure they got my picture.

Along the line my boss got very much interested in cryptocurrency especially in Bitcoin. Assisted him in creating his Bitcoin wallet and taught him all I could, it surprised me when he finally accepted to pay me in Bitcoin and has giving it as an option to other workers, it's a big joy for me and I believe they are also talking about cryptocurrency to their friends and family too, just got my first payment in Bitcoin this evening.
Congratulations! I can see you're overjoyed, and I feel the same way since nothing can excite someone like watching their goals come true. I hope your employer keeps paying you with bitcoin. However, since we are currently in a bear market and Bitcoin is drastically fluctuating, it is now up to you to make your own plans. Additionally, I think your boss will start accepting bitcoin in his or her business once this new way of payment has been adopted.

I personally think that is great. Getting paid in bitcoin for a side hustle is an ideal solution to invest in bitcoin periodically.
I think you should also try to find a day job which pays you in fiat currency to handle all the bills and expenses.
Create a balance between the two incomes to stay invested in bitcoin while managing your expenses.
Diversify your investments so that it can generate you good returns over the long term.

If this is kind of a side hustle I guess it ideal to use it as a payment with bitcoin because sometimes using Paypal takes time before getting into your hand but in terms of bitcoin its easier to receive and recently now we have a low transaction fee from the recent months I've seen the fee in the range of 15sat/byte and below I guess you are referring to the creation of the account with an exchange or in the wallet because you can't create an account to bitcoin itself, currently the price of the bitcoin is sitting right now in the range of 16-20k USD so still good chance to get profit in a small amount in volatility.

Not everything has to be proven, right?
whether he should publish the balance received from his salary or give the address to the public, I do not think it is necessary because I believe he is telling the truth. He might be able to share tips to convince someone of Bitcoin and I think teaching the boss won't be easy but I'm sure he has a way of conquering it.
A person who is able to teach his boss about Bitcoin very well is a very extraordinary person. Because he needed to make his boss believe and be interested in Bitcoin, indeed it was not easy to do considering he is an employee and the person he is going to teach is a boss who always pays him a salary.

In this case he just needs to have good communication every day with his boss so that what he wants to teach can be conveyed correctly, because imparting unusual knowledge to a boss clearly requires a different method and time than most people in general. And regarding showing a balance that already has a wallet, I agree with what you said because I don't think it's important to do that because there are still many ways to make someone believe in Bitcoin without having to show the contents of the balance in the wallet.

Well, without any pictorial proof, this is just like a mere statement just like many others. But moreover, congrats on your new salary payment option of using Bitcoin. Secondly, I expected you to have given more evidence to prove that you actually opened a Bitcoin wallet for your boss, and what type of wallet did you open?, What were you able to teach him about Bitcoin.

This will involve a bit process for your Boss other than just receiving your salary directly in your local fiat currency. Because at some point your Boss might get discouraged and stop paying you in BTC, as regards to how much he spent on top of your salary in transaction fees or sometime sees that his Bitcoin is reducing in terms of dollar value.

Therefore you need tell your boss things he could face while holding and paying you salary in Bitcoin.

This kinda reminds me of the good old news where the boss of the company demanded his employee to refund or give back the salary he gave after the market went bullish. I cannot quite pinpoint what country was it and how much Bitcoin was paid to the employee though.
When it comes to those, the company should have a system to automatically determine how much Bitcoin would be given to their employee at the pay date, otherwise it might cost the company one day.

Edit:
It was this news, lol. - Boss pays employee in cryptocurrency but wants it returned after its value rose by 700%
It was not mentioned that Bitcoin was used as payment, so my apologies for that. Cheesy

I have a friend who works for one of the leading companies, you could say my friend's boss is also a crypto investor, he really understands how crypto works, there is an idea like you proposed, unfortunately my friend told me, the idea of paying employee salaries with Bitcoins don'tagreed by friend's boss.

Reason:
• Bitcoin is suitable as a digital asset operating as investment & trade.
• Bitcoin fee for 1000 employees with different salary, bigger fee.
• Paying employee salaries with fiat does not incur additional nominal fees.

That's the basis for my friend's boss not wanting to pay employee salaries with bitcoin, but who knows in the future my friend's boss will change his mind and he can follow in your boss' footsteps.

This is good news for you to teach and convince your boss to adopt bitcoin as a method of payment to his staffs in his company. I will suggest that you should tell him the volatile nature of bitcoin so that he don't get disappointed and feel you came to deceive him when there is a dip in price.

You should also teach your boss how he can keep his coin save by getting a hardware wallet and not to keep his investment in an exchange if not if he gets scammed he can get you arrested because you were the one that convinced him into bitcoin investment and payment method.

When paying for work in bitcoins, it is very important to understand whether the payment in bitcoins is fixed or whether it will be different each time depending on the exchange rate of the national currency. If it is a fixed salary, then the OP will receive a double bonus in the bull market, but at the same time his boss will have to pay more generously than others.

Taking all your salary in bitcoin is something but, it would be better should you not leave all of them in bitcoin. Perhaps some quick exchange of a portion of that go its fiat equivalent would mitigate for some regrets if it does come to that. The idea has always been, been invest only what you can afford to lose and clearly, your entire salary isn't that.

Assisted him in creating his account
There are no accounts in Bitcoin.

Do you really want your boss to be able to follow your money after he pays you?
A possible likely scenario for a boss that have got time or people with time to do this on a purpose I don't know why should be but won't like. Its definitely a disadvantage to cryptocurrency but not so much an advantage when the government comes looking at some fiat local bank account.

In fact, I don't see any difference for myself in which way the work will be paid, if it can easily be converted into fiat without significant loss of funds for commission services. So there are no problems for those who want to spend part of their salary to buy bitcoins.
Most people need to pay their bills in fiat anyhow. So, they'd need to transfer some of it back or request to only get partially paid in Bitcoin. Personally, I actually prefer to get paid in fiat, pay my bills, and then look at the possibility of investing in Bitcoin further. However, most of my Bitcoin is generated by earning it directly, outside of my main job. So, I don't really rely on it as a monthly wage.

I guess my point is; either way you'll likely be paying an exchange fee, and getting hit by transaction fees either way. Unless, you're in the extremely unlikely situation of being able to solely exist on Bitcoin, i.e pay for bills, groceries etc with Bitcoin.

Well, this way there's no exchanges/3rd party to interfere the process, which is great because:
* one may simply not like (or fear of) exchanges and P2P
* less hands means more safety and less fees; if the money has came, you see it in the wallet, if it didn't, you ask the employer

While for main income I'd prefer fiat (because I don't have much other means to spend than fiat), for side jobs I prefer bitcoin since (most of) it has a good chance to remain bitcoin for long.
Even more, I can tell from own experience that if it wouldn't have been the means of earning Bitcoin, I would most probably have much smaller amount on my Ledger.
So it's a good step for OP.

I don't think it is necessary or a must to be paid with bitcoin. There are so many other requests you could tender to your boss apart from saying he should pay you in bitcoin.
You said you created account for your boss, do you mean an account in exchanges? If yes you thought him the wrong way.
Tbh, I don't see a boss who values his time that will go through a rigorous process to pay you when there is an option of fiat.

Seems lucky with your boss excited with cryptocurrency or Bitcoin and want to pay all their working trough Bitcoin as salary payment, I think you can spent half Bitcoin for long term investment beside you can use anther half your your daily needed. Not easy finding Boss want to pay us with Bitcoin, however need regulation early with your company working for accepting Bitcoin.

Your boss with get advantage when using Bitcoin as investment fund at future, actually waiting at the beginning month for paying their working salary and beside your boss tries how to be long term investor in Bitcoin.

What ever would make anyone interested in Bitcoin should be the same thing/ interest to create an essence of confidence and ardentness; if you motivate anyone or make them -- by any chance -- to realize the essence of Bitcoin, then you should do well to let 'em know the intricacies, FAQS and T/C's.
How did you go about the completion of the Trnx when you both are some inexperienced rookies, just tryna get confused by getting something undone?? Or have you had a knowledge proir the whole scenario?  .. how ever it is, just remember that HODLing BTC is a different ball game entirely.

Wait. if seeing your threads indirectly means your boss is new in bitcoin right?
Is it true that in this case it is a bit of a push because indeed you even made your boss's account yourself. then how can he decide this directly, especially since he still needs help making a wallet, not to mention how to transact (sending and receiving) and the risks when he's here.

Great job. This is just another achievement for bitcoin to be considered as a means of payment rather than an investment alone. And making your boss and your co-workers aware about bitcoin is already a good contribution for bitcoin promotion. I just hope everything will not end here, as your boss will also find ways to let other business owners be aware about bitcoin as a payment system. As long as they understand the risks it brings,  then later on a lot of people will surely benefit from bitcoin.

I hope you also tell your Boss about the risks of Bitcoin assets that he uses to pay you and some of your fellow workers.
it might be fun to work with your boss. he has good communication with his employees. or you may be good at persuading people.
if your company is a provider of services or goods. maybe your Boss can also consider accepting payments using Bitcoin.
That should be the first thing to do, making your boss aware of bitcoin risks and volatility. But knowing his boss has agreed after a lot of attempts by OP, I guess he has already made a research about bitcoin and found out that there are more potentials to gain than it’s risks alone. And also if he is paying in bitcoin as a salary, this will also make way for bitcoin to be accepted too as a means for payment if ever.

I’m happy for you, good job. But my worry is if you are receiving bitcoin, can you keep it for the next 3-5 years and expect a higher value? Or you’re just going to convert some of it to cater for your own expenses? But whatever your plan is, I’m glad because you have made a promotion for bitcoin adoption. I just hope that you will be more responsible in keeping your bitcoin safe and sound.

Congratulations on successfully negotiating to receive payment in Bitcoin! Receiving payment in Bitcoin can be a convenient and secure way to receive compensation for your work, as it allows for fast and cheap transactions without the need for intermediaries.

However, it's important to keep in mind that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can be highly volatile and their value can fluctuate significantly over time. This means that the value of your payment in Bitcoin may be different from the value of an equivalent amount in your local currency. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the risks and potential challenges of using Bitcoin as a means of payment, and to consider how you will manage those risks in order to ensure the security and stability of your financial situation.

It's also worth noting that there may be tax implications to receiving payment in Bitcoin, depending on your jurisdiction. You may want to consult with a tax professional or research the tax laws in your area to understand your obligations and ensure that you are properly reporting and paying any applicable taxes on your Bitcoin income.

This is a good move and nice steps to take so far, if would ask are you just receiving the payment in bitcoin to hold or you are receiving in bitcoin to sell after payment is received because I believe your coworkers who was given option to choose either to receive bitcoin may not have patient to hold since I believe their families are being sustained through their salaries. Possibly their interest would basically be on how to sell immediately when they received their payment because they may not have the patient to hold till bull run.

I'm all in for whatever that makes Bitcoin blossom, in terms of publicity and adoption but you've to also factor in the demerit of accepting it as "usable" salary. My emphasis is on the word usable to mean cash you're going to expend almost immediately and not as something set aside as an investment. We know how price fluctuates with Bitcoin. Are you ready to stomach all that when it happens on a dip? Can you? At some point, you will experience that your $200 BTC will be made a shadow of itself during this bear season. You would've been at an advantage were this happening in the bull season. This isn't to make you panic but to unveil to you what you should expect.

If you are a freelance worker and getting paid with that, I think it’s going to be a good thing that you are paid in bitcoin, so you could probably pay less tax for your income depending on where you are from. I’m curious some companies do not utilize crypto payments because of legal issues. I hope you don’t run into something that is going to make it hard for you to earn more because of your payment method.

Interesting, but I have some questions for you OP- are you working in a company or are you personally hired by your boss? Generally, wages are to be paid using the respective legal tender of a country and anything different from that may be considered void. Were you able to secure this kind of payment system with your boss?

I do hope that countries would definitely adopt cryptocurrency to their financials and adapt to its usage. With this kind of example, employers may give employees the freedom on how to choose their wages to be paid- either by fiat or by crypto.

Congratulations on having your long-awaited request for payment in bitcoin granted by your boss. Not all bosses will accept payment in bitcoin from their employees. They prefer paying in fiat.
Well this is my side Job but it's all I have now I also do some other job too but it has it's period, I don't know what the future holds but I am taking it one step at a time, I would really want to save the Bitcoin I get from there but in case of personal needs I would touch it, but for now am very glad he agreed to pay in Bitcoin, not many employers where I am from would agree.
Given how bad the market is right now during this bearish season, I like that this is a side job rather than your main employment. Having a job that pays you in bitcoin is kind of risky right now. With the little bit of bitcoin, your boss is giving you right now, you are steadily ensuring your future. You'll be astounded by the kind of earnings your paycheck in bitcoin generates in a year or two. Just maintain your grip and pray for the best outcome to happen soonest(preferably 2024).

You have done a good job convincing your boss, it is not really easy to persuade people to buy crypto since the market crash, they have lost confidence in the crypto market but a good news that your boss paid you in crypto, it will be more cooler if you also spend your salary in crypto to encourage those markets people, it will send message to those who have not used cryptocurrency to make payment, it will really increase awareness.

I tried as much as I could to let them know about how volatile the market is, and after experiencing it myself I think my loss story was a good example for them to understand, I also talked on privacy and other uses of Bitcoin and my boss was amazed as to the privacy Bitcoin has compared to how he was transacting. Also I put a disclaimer and I wasn't giving away any financial advice.
So you're request your boss to get paid by Bitcoin and you're talking about privacy? now I know if you're only talking bullshit here and it seems it's not a real story. If you're really understand about privacy, you wouldn't ask to get paid by Bitcoin since your boss already know who're you lol. If you both or even more workers know each others about your Bitcoin, address etc. You're already kill your own privacy.

Being able to receive payment in cryptocurrency after many efforts is undoubtedly a matter of great pride for you.  And this can be called an achievement in cryptocurrency.  Moreover, taking payments in cryptocurrencies is currently technologically more cost-effective and time-consuming.  But there is a lot of trouble and risk involved, since you have opened a Bitcoin wallet to your boss, you must take precautions from online wallets, especially those wallets that do not have the permission user.  Moreover, if you are using a hardware wallet, then you are smart.

Congratulations, your boss has cleared you after much procrastination. Whatever your monthly salary is that doesn't fact, whenever you got it in bitcoins, were excited to receive it. And no one can measure about your happiness except you. But it has to be said that Bitcoin is working smoothly in this regard. Acting as a new mode of payment. Day by day its scope is getting bigger. Maybe in a few days, the various institutions or industries around the world will be paying in Bitcoin instead of paying in fiat currency. Basically new generation will continue in this trend. I believe that in the next few years Bitcoin will be an alternative to all kinds of ‍payments activities.

Really good to know that you managed to convince your boss to pay you into bitcoin and also made him aware about the decentralisation concept but see I am happy for you but at the same time assume you are well aware about the risk associated with it?

If you are getting your full salary in bitcoin then it's risky as suggested above due to its volatile nature. For example you received $500 at an estimate rate of $16500 then you will receive approximately 0.0303BTC but the next day or moment the prices drop to say $15500 you will have $469 with you which means $31 down in your value so this is main concern if you are taking salary in this format as your expenses could be compromised in case of major crash so handle it carefully.

Second is keeping your funds safe in non custodial wallet or hardware wallet with your seed phrase safe in backup with you as it will give you wallet access for your funds and don't keep them on CEX which can be insolvent anytime or hacked turning your funds into bad loss.Rest best wishes to you and hope for more people like you have awareness about bitcoin.

This is a positive development for you and your coworkers, and I am happy for them because they have realized the value of Bitcoin and are about to adopt it after hearing about it from you.
I hope you take your time explaining the risks associated with Bitcoin investment, and I also hope you teach them about key and address because they are the most important aspects to understand before investing.

Between adoption and investment, I actually wonder what did you teach your boss about bitcoin?
Here you seem to just tell your boss to invest in cryptocurrency where you don't tell him about its use as currency. I wouldn't be entirely sure that your employer would be happy to pay you in bitcoins if that were the investment asset, but how did that happen?

Congrat to you, but you shouldn't force your co-workers to accept bitcoin, incase if their wallet get compromised then you will be blamed for it. If they are use to fiat payments, then they should countinue with that, anyone that's interested in Cryptocurrency then they can meet you personally so that you will explain it to them.

Also you should explain everything about wallet security to your boss and your co-worker since your boss already accepted to pay you people with bitcoin, how to properly secure your wallet private key, different strategies that scammers use to compromise your bitcoin wallet, and  other things which you think will really be helpful to them.

Good story to read but we are all wondering what are those information you tell to your boss to convince him to pay you up using bitcoin only. Are you the only one who get paid with it? or your co-workers are also get paid with this?

I have doubt about this story if you are the only one who get paid on Bitcoin only since imagine how hassle for your employer to buy bitcoins and pay it to your personal wallet which might cost some time and $ to him.

OP, do your coworkers also accept Bitcoin as their salary?
it doesn't matter, but how they manage their finances. while the salary from work is mainly to fulfill their life needs. I mean their operational costs in one month/ if their pay is received every month.

so I think you get Bitcoin from the boss. then you sell it for your needs. it may be different if you save your salary for investment assets. but how do you meet your primary markets?

OP, did you get your whole income in bitcoin?
If you ask me, I will say that it is risky. What is advisable even by most bitcoin experts especially when it comes to the economics is that only a certain percentage of your pay should be received in Bitcoin while others should be in your local fiat.
To execute this, your organization should consider using Bitwage - They services is like pay deduction. Such like a split paycheck. They send a percentage or fixed amount from your paycheck every month to a specific bank account using a specific ACH transaction.
On the other end, Bitwage will immediately convert it to bitcoin and deposit to into a bitcoin address. You can read more about them here - https://www.bitwage.com/.

It's great to be able to work with a boss who is friendly and can be invited to exchange ideas. Introducing Bitcoin to co-workers as well as the boss where you work takes a long time, I mean it's very difficult to explain step by step to someone who has never known Bitcoin before.

What I want to ask here, have you previously taught your boss about how to make the right transactions?
You also need to tell your boss about the risk if he sends the wrong Bitcoin, usually someone who is just learning something is very vulnerable to the risk of mistakes.

OP, what's the problem with buying bitcoins on your own? I don't see the point in doing extra work for this in terms of teaching or explaining to your superiors that you prefer bitcoin payouts. You do not know how to acquire on your own, so as not to be dependent on someone? In addition, does your boss have to keep any kind of documentation, does he pay everyone in bitcoins, or are you the chosen one?

How can you convince your boss of the transaction costs if he decides it's also an option for some workers? I think you're from Nigeria (based on your posthistory) where the standard of living isn't much different from my country where even $0.3 is worth in some areas.

It's great to see your boss accepted to make payment for staffs including you in Bitcoin. It's good for Bitcoin adoption.

Where did you receive and store your bitcoins from your boss?

Is it an exchange wallet?
Is it a non-custodial wallet?

If you receive your payment in an exchange wallet, that is terrible. Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts
You can lose your bitcoins anytime.

If you receive your payment in a non-custodial wallet, you made a good decision.

Well congratulations on being able to convince your boss to pay you in Bitcoin. I know the story is not as simplistic as you have narrated it. You failed to mention if it was full payment he made. Does your boss and co-workers know about its volatility? Does your boss and co-workers know about "Not your keys, Not your coins". These are things you should explain to them. Also, remember to move your bitcoins from the centralized exchange which I know it currently is now to a cold wallet so you do not return to tell us a story of "Had I known".

You can convert some of your payment to usdt to keep for any case that you lose the investment.
Why would OP go through the headache of covincing their boss to have their salary paid in Bitcoin, only to afterwards convert a part of the salary received in Bitcoin into stablecoins, if OP does that, then they should just have continued receiving their salary the conventional way through a bank account. If one decides to receive their salary in Bitcoin, they should be well and truly prepared to bear the risks involved, that's why a much better option would be to receive your salary in fiat and DCA a fraction of your earnings into Bitcoin every month.

It's great that you were able to successfully negotiate getting paid in Bitcoin. As a digital currency, Bitcoin can be a convenient and secure way to receive payment, especially for those who may not have access to traditional banking or financial services. However, it is important to remember that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are highly volatile and can fluctuate significantly in value. This means that the value of your Bitcoin payment may go up or down over time. It is also important to be aware of the tax implications of receiving payment in Bitcoin. Depending on your location, you may be required to report cryptocurrency payments as income and pay taxes on them.

but are you sure that your boss won't blame you if the bitcoin price continues to decline, because many people always blame other people who invite them, especially in this crypto world. don't forget to remind your boss that investing in crypto has a big risk but the return is also big.
Explain everything about the disadvantage and advantages of bitcoin to your boss, I am afraid that someday your boss will blame you once there is a misunderstanding in bitcoin. In your country bitcoin is allowed to use? Because the disadvantage could be your boss has difficulties with the documents regarding the taxation on which your boss run a business. However for now --congrats that your boss does what you have suggested. Now you can tell your boss how bitcoin transactions will flow.

it will be a great experience to receive Bitcoin from the work you do in your workplace. But did you also educate your boss beforehand about how much risk of losing value this poses to your boss? because cryptocurrencies have high volatility so prices continue to fluctuate. for some people this will be very disturbing and make them panic. they really have to understand the advantages and disadvantages of using cryptocurrency before carrying out full adoption, as well as the ultimate goal of what cryptocurrency they can be used for. Great experience to be a part of developing bitcoin payments.

I would really want to save the Bitcoin I get from there but in case of personal needs I would touch it

This is not really the best way to invest, since personal needs can happen and then you may have to sell at a loss.
But yeah, I wish you don't have unexpected expenses and the investment will stay there for long.

this will be a problem, which hinders the use of bitcoin as a long-term investment, because everyone's needs will be different. they will sell bitcoin at a lower value to meet personal needs. really have to do financial management that is used as investment and used for personal needs.

@Cynthia_sinach042, can you please clear this out? Since it's not advised to keep big amounts of bitcoins on centralized platforms, you may consider getting a hardware wallet...

Getting paid in your preferred currency (bitcoin) seems a great feeling to you so congrats. My question is are you paid in dollar equivalent of Btc or the payment is an greed Btc. My advice is since this is your only major source of income at the moment and you will need some to pay bills it will be better to set side the amount yoh wish to save every pay time and then convert the rest to either stable coins or Fiat for daily use. Although we will wish to have everything in Bitcoin but its volatility won't allow that now. Also when you have some spend able amounts in fiat it gives the freedom to hodl for long.

Yes I am actually paid the Dollar equivalent of my salary in Bitcoin and I know about the volatility, I plan to split it into two ways then save some in Bitcoin the other half for miscellaneous stuff.

I think time would tell and hopefully it works, I am mostly excited not only about the pay but that I have reached out to those in my work place about Bitcoin.

Well, congrats! Is this payment for the side job or for the main job?
I'm asking because for the side job it's just the perfect way to do it (imho), but for the main job, getting the full pay in bitcoin is a bit risky unless you can live from other funds and keep the bitcoins untouched for a couple of years.
However, interesting move!

just got my first payment in Bitcoin this evening

Well, congrats! Is this payment for the side job or for the main job?
I'm asking because for the side job it's just the perfect way to do it (imho), but for the main job, getting the full pay in bitcoin is a bit risky unless you can live from other funds and keep the bitcoins untouched for a couple of years.
However, interesting move!
