If you want to buy with a secured transaction then like what you said, you need a middleman and there is a lot of trusted middleman here but the fees is not that cheap because they offer service and their service costs average to average so for me if you are buying something here and you can find it in the other sites then it is better to just buy there to avoid scams.

Actually some of middleman here doesn't charge some people asking for their help and you can actually find them on escrow thread made by marcotheminer but i can't dig it up for him since im busy for now and the thread has been buried. But i can recommend you to used zepher or either minerjones since quitely they have good reputation upon handling some deals here and i think tip is a must since their effort are still counted to this trade.

-First follow the scam accusation report format that given to you above. That is mandatory.

-If you really being scammed, the first thing I can think is you must be mad to the one who scammed you and will shout the name here but why hiding it's name. You just report it but much better if you expose it here so DT member can tagged that member. We don't want another incident like this.

-What do you want to buy? I suggest those active ones, Lauda, SFR10, Yahoo62278 but remember you must PM them rather than they will PM you.

And remember, the amount that being scammed will not be return. Sorry for the loss.

You are far from guaranteed to get your money back, but it is still worth submitting a scam accusation and you might get lucky with a refund. It depends what you are trying to buy, in order to know which escrow to recommend - is it a physical item or digital good?

You have to inform forum moderators about that scammer. In the case if they not bann him he will get negative trust at least, it will show to other members to not make business with that person.
Unfortunately I can't advice you anyone who would be your middle, I never bought a thing like that. Sorry.

This is awfully misleading. Almost no one gets back the money from a Bitcoin-related scam - that's exactly why scammers tend to operate with Bitcoin or between Bitcoin and another system (e.g. PayPal).

OP, you should report this user but they won't be banned - they'll just receive negative trust.

You need to understand that the trust system is very close to useless. If you see that a user was inactive for a long time before that trade, they're probably a scammer. If on their trust page it notes that their email or password was changed recently, they're probably a scammer. If they're trading with PayPal, they're probably a scammer. If they're obviously reluctant to use escrow, they're probably a scammer.

You have to watch the mempool trend otherwise.

Yes, and post the details in the scam section as Pamoldar suggest so that the scammer can be flagged and maybe protect a few others.
