Hey guys!
Pretty new to mining, but I felt confident enough to expand my first 6 gpu setup (sitting on top of the rack) to a 24 gpu setup and wanted to share my work in progress:
http://imgur.com/YlV2oHIhttp://imgur.com/a/3QOGzhttp://imgur.com/rVRUp7lhttp://imgur.com/kOKjYFvI decided to mine eth/zec with 24 gtx 1070 on 4 z170a mobos due to the fact that all the rx cards are either sold out or ridiculously over priced. I can share more information for those interested.
Some things I learned:
1) the heat generated from a 6 gpu rig is manageable inside a bedroom
2) the heat generated from a 24 gpu rig is not manageable inside a bedroom
3) can not pull more than 15A from the wall socket
My next steps include:
1) move the unit to the garage to create a better intake/exhaust system; or
2) move the unit into a small outdoor shed
3) electrical work
Any advice with the electrical work (or anything else)? I know each rig (holding 6 gpus) pulls around 7-7.5A and 700-850W, so I figured it be smarter to have a dedicated breaker for this project.
Also, how do you guys remotely monitor/manage your rigs? I wanted to use simplemining.net but it looks like it's not available for gtx cards.
Thanks!!
