Why in some telegram groups, people talking that steam will plan to add bitcoin payment option in next year? :OOO Any news on that point ? I missed something ? There was rumors about amazon, and Amazon bought domains... but didn't said a word!!
Steam has long used bitcoin for payment, did you hear it for the first time? That's surprising.
While Amazon is just a rumor, there has been no official statement from Amazon about it. And I think they should use this system, because a lot of people wanna ease, accuracy, and fast in transactions. And we all know about this : bitcoin is the best in this thing.

Ohh I'm far away from gaming, just steam is really big thing, and if they will make it official and understandably for everyone and then will advertise it, then probably games using cryptos for some cosmetic transactions will be new hype train, for example Dota 2?  DOTA coin Huh

[...] There was rumors about amazon, and Amazon bought domains... but didn't said a word!!

Amazon bought ethereum domains, yes. But they commented their move.
Amazon stated they are not going to implement altcoin payments yet, because there is "too little demand".
But they wan't to be "prepared" for the future in which crypto currencies are being widely accepted as payments.
Amazon already bought bitcoin domains, i think, about 4 years ago. But there is still no option to pay with bitcoins.
I wouln't derive too much from those news. As soon as BTC will get adopted massively, amazon has the ability to follow instantly.

A short summary of the interview can be found here: https://cointelegraph.com/news/amazon-sparks-speculation-by-buying-three-cryptocurrency-themed-domain-names

Steam is already accepting bitcoins in my country. I have even ordered a game with bitcoin only the transaction speed is very slow it will maybe take a few hours before steam will send the games.

Because they need to have the bitcoins first in order to give you the games that you have ordered from steam.

No wonder, later many online shop that adopted Bitcoin as a method of payment. Blockchain technology that has transparent transactions (for example tx id), makes proof of payment easy to find. And at 2018 we'll see newcomer Stuff GoGo.

The implementation of such plans requires a lot of time and resources. To add payment for bitcoins for Amazon and Steam, you need to solve many problems. But I think it's just a matter of time and in a few months we will see a growth rate of bitcoin several times more than now.

Like it's already been said, Steam already accepts bitcoins since last year, as for Amazon it's still just speculation, and I don't really see them adding bitcoin anytime soon. Yes they bought the domains, but they already had a bitcoin related domain for a while, they just added an ethereum one, a two global ones related to cryptocurrencies in general. I don't think they want to use these domains though, it's probably just to prevent anyone from using them, and try to hack their customers.

Bitcoin still has to solve it's scalability issues, before amazon can consider to accept it. Also, since BTC is pursuing the store of value path, I don't even know if it makes any sense for amazon to accept it. Who will buy things with a volatile asset? It's better to use it as a store of value right now, but lets wait and see.

Steam is already accepting Bitcoin payments. If you usually play Online Games through steam you'll be notified already by now. You can already purchase tha games you wanna play with ease. On the other hand Amazon did noy released official statement in regards with accepting bitcoin as payment. All of those statements were just rumors. Still hoping Amazon will accept Btc, this could be a good opportunity for Bitcoin.

There is no "first" Amazon.

Amazon isn't planning to accept bitcoin payments. Even in the discussion about the domain names they have stated :
Quote
However, Amazon Pay's VP Patrick Gauthier told CNBC last month that Amazon had no plans to accept cryptocurrency because there hasn't been much demand yet, and Amazon may simply be protecting its brand name.

How can you put this more clearly ? "Amazon had no plans to accept cryptocurrency"

They have purchased amazonbitcoin.com 3 years ago and it was to prevent scams and secure their brand.
Nothing more.

As for steam , they are accepting bitcoins since April last year:

Please do a bit of research first.

They should consider altcoins too. At this point the transaction fee is more than the price of many games.

The problem here is that Steam is too slow to do anything, only yesterday they added Argentina's peso, but I can see them adding ETH in 2019.

Since 2016, You could buy games on steam using bitcoins thus its an old news also amazon is not clearly saying anything about bitcoins.. its more like speculations.

I would like to know too if somehow I missed the statment they made about accepting bitcoins.

Amazon can accept for sure and the simple reason would be generating more crowd and increasing their current status.

The answer why amazon will accept bitcoins is as simple as why amazon accepts paypal.

How is Amazon buying domains equivalent to them adding bitcoin payments? Tongue They might just purchased those domains for safekeeping for the future just so they have them ready if they plan on using them; or maybe they actually plan on buying and selling BTC and ETH in the future.

And yea, Steam has been accepting Bitcoin(BTC) for more than a year already.

I am quite certain that Steam already accepts Bitcoin as a payment.  You just have to purchase whatever you want as you normally would, and once you get to the payment screen you are able to go ahead and use Bitcoin as a payment, they provide you a wallet address to send to with the exact amount you need to cover it with.
